There is really only one answer.

  2. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    Brains Leftout

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Yay! I’m with the majority!

Really, I could have answered a couple. Under other I would have put eating the cap hits this year to help make next year easier.

  4. Tbbucs3 Says:

Replacing *superbowl winning offensive coordinator* Byron Leftwhich for a guy who has absolutely nothing on his resume.

The same people who tell you Caneles gets the credit for Geno Smiths slightly above average season (didnt call plays) will tell you that Leftwhich gets no credit for 2020/2021 who was in fact, the primary play-caller.

Leftwhich last season called plays to adjust to an atrocious personel….a decline immobile QB, bad Oline, 0 running backs, 0 tight ends and a wobbly Chris Godwin and FA bust Russel Gage. Literally the only good things the Bucs had on offense was Mike Evans and Whirfs.

There is not 1 offensive coordinator in the NFL who wouldve had any real success with the Bucs offensive roster last season….not 1.

  5. Buc50 Says:

    @Tbbucs3 Byron??? Is that you?

  6. Tbbucs3 Says:

Leftwhich and Brady had a great working relationship for 3 years….and Bradys been known to but heads with many of his former OCs…its obvious the greatest quarterback of time has respect for BL….meanwhile mostly drunk commenters throughout JBF and other Bucs blogs have no respect for BL….who’s opinion should I value?

The drunk fat commenters on JBF or the greatest professional athlete of all time?

I’m Absolutely shocked replacing lug nut wasn’t 100% of the fan poll

  8. Pickgrin Says:

HaHa – Look – a Leftboob apologist. Thats a rare breed around these parts for sure….

Tbbucs3 – you’ve got it all backwards. Lemme fix it for you:

“There is not 1 offensive coordinator in the NFL who would not have had success with the Bucs offensive roster in ’20 and ’21…” Especially with a great coach like Arians holding their hand…..

In 2020 and 2021, LeftNut had 8 Pro Bowlers (and at least 4 HOfers) out of 11 offensive starters out there. He had the greatest QB of all time still playing well and a top 5 OLine.

But when you take away more than half of all that high end talent – even with Brady and Evans and Godwin and Wirfs still in place – you are going to HAVE TO make some major adjustments in how you scheme and how you call plays.

    Byron didn’t “adjust”… at ALL.

He kept giving the same looks and calling the same plays over and over that the league already had seen dozens of times over the previous 3 years.

Opposing Defenders were quoted multiple times last year saying they knew exactly what was coming most plays vs the Buccaneers offense.

There was no creativity involved. There was no scheming adjustments made in the pass game or when it was obvious the standard run looks were not working. Leftnut just abandoned the run all together basically – and this was against strict orders from Bowles to do the opposite…

If you think Andy Reed couldn’t have made some damn fine salad out of the chicken chit that Byron served up with the talent on hand last year – to the tune of at least 24 points per game – then you are delusional….

  9. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Pickgrin

Heres what your missing…Brady who has seen every defense, every pass play known to man also had a heavy hand in game planning throughout the week….It was him and Byron working together on the offense…..

if Brady wasnt able to figure it out with this personnel then no one couldve…all throughout last season every time they flashed to the sidelines it was Brady, Byron Leftwhich and Gabbert on the bench looking at the tablets to figure out how the make the offense work.

The only problem? You have 2 ineffective running backs, 3 mediocre tight ends and an aging/undersized Shaq Mason, a rookie center, a skinny Luke Godeke and washed 76 trying to protect.

If Leftwhich had called an Arians style “no risk it no biscuit” style offense last season….Brady would’ve gotten absolutely dismantled at age 45.

  10. Rod Munch Says:

Tbbucs3 – Are you related to Leftwich?

If you want proof that Pickgrin is correct, just go back and view the video that the Ravens posted after they beat the Bucs. The Ravens player LITERALLY says the Bucs are just running the same play over and over again from different formations. If a player, on the field, in the middle of a game, can figure that out, what do you think DC’s are doing with that info?

As for the playcalling, there was a simple upgrade he could have done – just call some playaction passes on 1st down instead of running it up the middle. Literally that’s all he had to do to fix the run game. Defenses knew if Brady came out, under center, particularly in the first half, the Bucs were running it up the middle. Had the idiot just called a few play action passes, defense couldn’t have stacked the line. The moron Leftwich constantly put the Bucs in 2nd and long because of his dumb, predictable, playcalling. Then he made it worse with his new Leftwich wrinkle to the offense of running the same stupid WR screens for 1 yard on 2nd down. Again, defense were sitting on these plays because they knew what was coming. That’s why Bowles, during the season, went to him and asked him to change up his play calling – and Leftwich gave him the finger and just kept doing the same thing. I mean you could literally sit in the forum here on gameday, and many people would be yelling out the play before the snap – hell, they’d be yelling out the plays during the commercial breaks before they even saw the personnel.

Leftwich stinks, he’s awful, and that’s why he’s unemployed. If he’s not, then why doesn’t he have a job? He had a top 3 offense in 2019, 2020, 2021 — and now he doesn’t have a job. Why is that?

  11. BA’s Red Pen Says:

I skinny and sober, Leftwich stinks dude.

  12. Mord Says:

Just imagine how quickly Canales will (deservedly) be hired as a HC if he manages to do even marginally better with Mayfield/Trask this year than Leftwich did with Tom. Freakin’. Brady. last year.
