“Do They Have Any Quarterback Down There That Can Hit A Blind Duck, Bro?”

June 2nd, 2023

Baker Mayfield

The lunacy continues.

Joe is mesmerized by the national Bucs bashing that seems to be a regular thing.

This week it was Adam Pacman Jones during his visit to The Pat McAfee Show. The forner superstar cornerback was stunned by the viral Buccaneers practice video (below) that showed a few ugly passes from Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask — in May.

Joe already has written about this. It happens. Players are operating at different speeds and learning each other and new routes. It’s common, but it’s being blown ridiculously of proportion.

The video prompted Jones to asked guest Dan Orlovsky, the former Bucs quarterback and current ESPN analyst, “Do they have any quarterback down there that can hit a blind duck, bro?”

Orlovsky said he is surprised the video looked so ugly, but then he went on to staunchly defend the Bucs quarterbacks, simply explaining that timing routes with unfamiliar receivers are missed in spring practices. However, Orlovsky believes the Bucs already are in the “Caleb Williams sweepstakes” before Week 1. Ouch!

For those unaware, Willliams is the stud QB prospect projected as the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft.

McAfee, who was the Colts’ emergency quarterback during the Peyton Manning era, said he even looked better than what Mayfield and Trask showed in the practice video.

    Laugh away. Laugh hard.

It just makes our wins that much sweeter. LFG!

  2. sasquatch Says:

    DOLTS.

5 seconds of video showing a few lame warmup throws and people draw conclusions. This is why NFL off-season yappers are worthless.

  3. Marine Buc Says:

Hate to say it but Pac Man Jones is a complete idiot…

Let us not forget this man caused multiple shootings at two different strip clubs in a short span of time and has been arrested for assault on several occasions.

Why is anyone listening to this lowlife thug wannabe?

It’s cute that PatMac has this clown hanging around like a pirate’s parrot.

    LOL!!!!

  4. SufferingSince76 Says:

It is kind of bizarre how the national media has taken this ‘story’ and run with it. Then again, they typically run sensationalized stories with very little truth attached.

  5. BillyBucco Says:

Antoine Winfield said he loves the media perception.
    Loves the underdog role.
I really hope teams overlook us.

    Go Bucs!!!

  6. Stanglassman Says:

Even some Bucs fans are falling for this crap. It would be easy for Dan to educate the people watching what’s really going on but he knows that not his job. His job is to continue the false narrative to attract more clicks.

This is going to make each win that much sweeter.

  7. AtlBuc Says:

I’m glad they think we are going to hurl chunks this season. I also hope our opponents watch this video, drink the Kool-Aid and take us lightly. I want us to be under the radar

  8. Smashsquatch Says:

We’re gonna need a bigger bulletin board.

  9. SOEbuc Says:

Lunacy that keeps being re-shared on JBF. 100 days. LFG BUCS!!!

  10. Mike C Says:

Leave Jonny football errrrrr, I mean Baker alone!

Outlook not so good. They are prolly right.

  12. Steven007 Says:

Grover, “prolly”? As usual, you are prolly wrong. Well, probably. Ffs…

  13. Mike Says:

Fortunately we don’t have any blind ducks on the roster.

  14. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Those videos are continuing to go around, and I must admit, our guys look bad.
But this is what happens early in most training camps, especially ones where our guys are learning a totally new and different offense.

I also agree that bashing the Bucs seems to be the new national pastime ?
We do not seem to have a Ton of friends in the National Media.

  15. Drunkinybor Says:

Zero research Zero credibility Zero fact finding. Just pure unadulterated biased B.S. opinionated morons watching YouTube discussing YouTube while wanting to ho viral on youtube

  16. NCBucfan Says:

Practice, we talkin bout practice! In my AI voice. Keep the hate coming baby!

  17. firethecannons Says:

Pacman jones –the cornerback who pulled off Amari Coopers helmet and beat him about the head with it during the game and it was not a joke. Dude has no business saying anything about this.

  18. Jay Says:

99% of NFL talking heads are a holes the other 1% are idiots plain and simple, if you’re hopeful to have the #1 pick in next year’s draft those quarterbacks have about an 87% failure rate

  19. Oxycondoms Says:

How can you look at that and not laugh? Embrace it

  20. Pewter Power Says:

Wonder if they’re saying the same thing about the titans but I don’t just because they drafted a quarterback no matter how bad he is

  21. TonySoprano Says:

Hit a blind duck? The idiot combined like 4 euphemisms. It’s frustrating to see hardworking people try to break into the broadcasting industry while some arrogant, woman-beating multi-felon like Pac-Man gets an audience.

  22. Joe Says:

It’s frustrating to see hardworking people try to break into the broadcasting industry while some arrogant, woman-beating multi-felon like Pac-Man gets an audience.

PacMan and McAfee are bros going way back to their West Virginia days. Fully understand what you are saying.

PacMan also was doing a podcast with Brandon Marshall that had a decent following. That didn’t hurt either.

  23. Craig Says:

Let them blindly bash at the Bucs. I have hopes and dreams that we might be heading in the right direction.

If the coaches are paying attention to the players and but the Buzz.

  24. CalleyBucs Says:

The ironic part of them talking about Baker and how “bad” the throws were all of the “throw” they were trashing on were TRASK! I’m not hating on Trask is the freaking second week into practice everyone need to relax…. Just very funny that they are crapping on a guy who isn’t even on the video…. Maybe they should lay off the weed in between the breaks so they can actually make out who is in the video they are showing over their heads😂😂

  25. garro Says:

Aaand….Is either one of these blind ducks a respected journalist?
I think you have your answer…
    Geez

  26. Voice of Truth Says:

Back to 80’sand 90’s….reading pewter report believing we had a shot in the weak NFC central with Vinny, Trent, Steve et al

Keep dreaming that clueless Todd has any idea what he is doing

We have the weakest QB room since McClown was the starter

It’s a joke and so many blind people think we are laying in the weeds…we are squarely in the gutter with Bowles in charge

  27. AnonymousBuc76 Says:

Glad to see the Bucs are officially underdogs again…

I prefer that role opposed to being the media darling…I personally never cared for the media fiasco that came with Brady being in town to begin with… What these clowns are failing to realize is at least 2/3’s of this Buccaneers squad has playoff experience; injuries for the most part derailed our season last year…

So Laugh it up, the NFC South is down at the moment and Tampa is still the best team in the division Imho; Derek Carr is basically a bad version of Matt Ryan so I don’t expect the Saints to be significantly better with him under center…
I fully expect the Bucs to be back in the playoffs this season…

CalleyBucs Says: “The ironic part of them talking about Baker and how “bad” the throws were all of the “throw” they were trashing on were TRASK!”

Um, no. The video above posted by Joe shows 2 overthrows by Mayfield (#6) and 1 overthrow by Trask (#2).

  29. BucU Says:

CalleyBucs you been smoking the good stuff before watching the video?

  30. BuckeyeBuck Says:

Hmmm. Mayfield and Trask have timing issues with receivers they haven’t had many reps with? Baker because he’s new to the team, Kyle because they (foolishly) parked him behind a #2 in his 30’s. If they suck in September I’ll worry; May? Not so much

  31. LongSeason Says:

Laugh it up Dan and Adam. This will make our one win this season all the sweeter.
Just get ME13 his +1000 yards.

  32. Duane Says:

Buc bashing is en vogue since the GOAT is gone. Comes with the territory. This is a silver lining season for the franchise. In a cap hell year with competing quarterbacks that make backup money, this team can get what they paid for and earn the number 1 pick in the draft, or they can scratch out another 8-9 and win the division again. With another decent draft and a whole bunch of cap space next season, I think this team gets off the mat quicker than any other in the division. Holding serve and winning the division is attainable, and would give a nice two finger salute to the talking heads. Its not like we arent accustomed to low expectations with our Bucs. LFG.

  33. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Those all looked like timing issues to me.

  34. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

    My prediction stands:
One ‘ref assisted’ early season win
Then defense goes full on lawn chair
    With some 56-3 losses.
    Offense goes full on fumbling bumbling;
Two late season ‘meaningless for draft’ victories
    3-14.
    Bowles gets walking papers.

  35. Darin Says:

They can’t hit a blind duck bro but they could hit a blind woman! There’s something to be proud of Ms Pac Man

  36. westernbuc Says:

We’re not worse than the Panthers. I expect Falcons/Saints to be better next year but I don’t think we’re necessarily worse than either of those teams.

Baker Mayfield is better than Desmond Ridder. And when he’s been healthy he’s in the same tier as Derek Carr.

Brady looked like he did last year because he didn’t want to get hit and our o-line was beat up. We won a Super Bowl with a beastly offensive line, then basically lost three of those starters (Smith had a busted elbow, kinda important for a tackle to have a healthy elbow.)

Once again, national media proving that it’s for the low-IQ crowd. They see guys lobbing passes and have these kind of reactions, as if a professional quarterback suddenly forgot how to throw the ball.

I understand why journalists/talking heads have these reactions. They need a story. Former pro players? Honestly it sickens me.

  37. Don’t have a Buc to spare Says:

Back to being one of the worst franchises in the league after tricking the media to thinking they don’t suck for 2 years
