What Rachaad White Likes About Kyle Trask

March 10th, 2023

Discusses Bucs QB.

So yesterday, Bucs No. 1 running back Rachaad White was a guest of the Tampa Bay Rays.

While visiting the Fruitdome in St. Petersburg, White took batting practice and hung out. Chill afternoon.

And it appears that’s what White likes about the lone quarterback on the Bucs roster, Kyle Trask. You see, White said, Trask is a chill dude.

WFLA-TV Channel 8 photojournalist Bob Hansen was there and chatted with White and asked how comfortable he is with Trask possibly starting.

White said he’s good with Trask because Trask has the same personality as White.

“I’ve seen a lot of things in the spurts he had in practice when he was able to show what he had,” White said without being very specific. “He did a lot of great things in giving our defense a lot of looks.”

It is Trask’s low-key demeanor, White believes, that will help him succeed.

“He’s got a lot of poise,” White said. “He’s calm. I just like him because I’m calm. I’m relaxed. I’m laid back and that’s how he is.

“He comes to work. That’s what I like.”

White also raved about Trask’s potential. And now Trask has a chance to grab the proverbial bull by the ring and own the starting quarterback.

Joe was just thinking, man, the Bucs backfield probably will be really young. Trask is in his third year. White is in his second year. Who knew that Ke’Shawn Vaughn would be the old man of the backfield? He’s still on his rookie contract.

White is a well-spoken young man that has the potential to be a CO-LEADER with Kyle in the backfield.

I like it, two or three young guns who got to play and learn from the GOAT.

    What could go wrong?

I don’t remember, even once, reading anything about Brady mentoring Trask. Anything Trask learned from Brady had to be just from observation. Brady was great giving tips to anyone at any other position on the team, just not QB. I do remember Brady not getting along with Jimmy G. on the Patriots. His relationship with Trask was never explored, at least that I can recall.

  3. ATLBuc Says:

I would like to know how he did at BP

  4. Reality_Check Says:

If I were White I wouldn’t like anything about Trask. Prepare for 8 man boxes because you have an incapable QB

  5. Leighroy Says:

Brady never liked Garoppolo bc he was a 2nd round draft pick and the media gave him the “heir apparent” title, when Brady had no intentions (clearly) of ever stopping or slowing down…and that was 9 years ago!

I would have to believe it’s a little different for Trask when Brady is on a 1 year deal, openly contemplating retirement to the point that he tried it for 40 days and came back for one more run, than when he’s still in his 30’s trying to prove the haters wrong.

You mean to tell me, that there was no mentoring in the QB film room? Do reporters cover film study? Team meetings? Heck, reporters are only allowed to watch a limited fraction of practice. Try a new narrative. Trask may flame out but it won’t be bc Brady ignored him for 2 years.

THAT IS SOMETHING I SPECIFICALLY REMEMBER ABOUT KYLE TRASK AS A GATOR..HE WAS COOL, CALM & COLLECTED OUT THERE ON THE FIELD..I NEVER SAW HIM GET FLUSTERED & GUN-SHY..IF YOU NOTICE, MOST OF THE NFL’S GREATEST QUARTERBACK’S HAD THAT SAME TRAIT..(JOE MONTANA IS THE BEST EXAMPLE) GIVE KYLE THE REINS TO THIS WAGON & YOU WILL BE VERY EXCITED ABOUT WHAT YOU SEE..I HAVE ALL THE FAITH IN THE WORLD IN HIM..GODWIN, EVANS,GAGE,OUR CURRENT BACKS ALONG WITH WHOEVER WE DRAFT THAT CAN BLOCK,RUN & CATCH OUT OF THE BACKFIELD WITH A GOOD, MOSTLY YOUNG OFFENSIVE LINE..THE SKIES THE LIMIT FOR THIS QUARTERBACK..I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED IN HIM..HE WENT TOE TO VS.LSU & JOE BURROW HIS SENIOR YEAR BUT JOE HAD A BETTER SURROUNDING CAST SO WE FAILED TO WIN THAT GAME..BUT HE’S CAPABLE OF COMPETING WITH 6HE BEST..”MARK MY WORDS”..

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Young QB….RBs, TEs….add Hainsey, Goedeke & a newly drafted Tackle and you really have a young offense.

    And….we have a young punter…..

  8. Bojim Says:

    Stop yelling

  9. Marine Buc Says:

    Mark my words right now.

The Bucs are going to the Super Bowl and Kyle Trask is going to lead us there…

  10. Pryda...Sec 147 Says:

Marine buc take your pills your wife called and told me to remind you …

  11. Infomeplease Says:

Marine Buc, that may very well come true!! Just maytake about 5 years!!

  12. Rand Says:

    Reality_Check

    Here’s a reality check …you’re a moron

  13. 80forBrady Says:

Give Trask abd White + “Sneak” Vaughn a chance

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

Keep smilin Mr. White. You’re gonna need all those smiles and humor when we are 2-8 with Trask.

  15. Winny Testaverde Says:

Oorah! The Marine Buc no doubt hopped up on Vodka + Red Bull…hold the Red Bull. He likely means Kyle will drive a chartered bus chock full of players, coaches and fans to the stadium on game day.

  16. Goatfarmer Says:

Marine, dammit, there goes my morning coffee all over the room.

  17. Craig Says:

Keeping Bowles cleaner away from the offense will be the biggest problem for the offense. That is going by his time at the Jets. If a young QB there had a bad game, he was in Bowles cleaner’s doghouse.

That can’t happen here. A chance for Trask means 4-5 games, just for him to get up to speed.

I have hopes, and I think Trask can be good, but there is still a lot against him. Some of that is in keeping Stinnie, Wells, and the gang on the roster.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

His best trait is that he’s calm in practice.

That’s far from a glowing endorsement. I want to hear about how he has a cannon, throws an insanely accurate pass, knows how to lead guys and protect them, etc … instead we hear that, in limited reps, he’s calm. Like how Todd Bowles is calm on the sidelines. Perfect match!

  19. SlyPirate Says:

Players rallying behind Trask will give him confidence.

  20. firethecannons Says:

certain keyshon vaughn is riding the bench next season, JL will get another back that is better even as a rook.

  21. 1sparkybuc Says:

Fans rallying behind Trask wouldn’t hurt his confidence. Our “fans” act more like trolls. It appears that they would rather be proven right than watch Trask win games for the team. Trask is not the enemy.

  22. David Says:

I do not think White ever liked Tom B. aggressive attitude other players or him being around old players whom passed their prime time. He sees Trask as the scout qb against the defensive starters and he knows better than us what Trask is capable of.
