Tom Brady: It Was On Me

January 1st, 2023

Point fingers at him, Tom Brady says.

Few people seemed more relieved or happy about Mike Evans blowing up today than Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

For whatever reason, the two, until today, seemed off all season. In the prior two seasons, Brady and Evans were a lethal combination and made cornerbacks wet their pants.

This year? It seemed they had never played together.

After giving Evans deserved props for piling up 207 yards and three touchdown catches, Brady said throw rocks at him for not being on the same page with Evans this season.

“Mike played awesome like he always does,” Brady said. “I love playing out there with him and he’s an amazing player — I missed him too many times this year.

“It was nice to connect with him and hopefully we can keep that going. I think we will.”

When Brady was asked if the offense practiced a new way or tried something new to jump-start the Brady-to-Evans electricity. Brady said that was not the case.

“No, he’s been running by [defenders],” Brady said. “I just haven’t hit him. So it is nice to hit him.”

Damn right it was nice. If today was an example of Brady and Evans (finally) having their timing back, this team could be lethal again.

And if that is the case, don’t be shocked if the Bucs win a playoff game. Or two (?).

That’s the class act he is, he takes all the hits and when his teammates step up he is the first one to praise them. HATERS you enjoying your FOSSIL fuel???

  2. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Mike and Brady broke the Panthers back today.
If this combo continues, we can go a long way into the playoffs!

  3. EA Says:

The difference is that Brady actually had some time in the pocket today to let those big plays develop.

Brady has rushed throwing the ball so many times this season, yes O line has been BAD, yes we have the worst running game because of it.

  4. orlbucfan Says:

Ugh. Took the defense and the whole offense to make sure wrinkle won this one.

  5. Goatfarmer Says:

Amazing what happens when the offense is called like it’s a Bruce Arians offense. Which it is.

Still no confidence in Bowels playing to the team’s strengths instead of his own fears and ego.

  6. Mike C Says:

    Or three???

  7. Sold Says:

(still drooling) mooooreee…….please give me more…..give smegal more…..

  8. NEfan Says:

GOAT, I agree, again we saw some bad coaching today. That’s something the players can’t fix.

Oral wash down that humble pie with a big shot of FOSSIL Fuel. Yum, yum!!

  9. Smashsquatch Says:

Damn right Brady, you’ve been missing him all season long. Yes, he’s had a few unthinkable drops, but Brady has been the culprit. Good to see him own that; but more importantly Brady may have just found his mojo!

  10. Redeemer Says:

Brady taking all the blame like a true leader. We all know it’s not all his fault. Where are all the Brady haters? Playoffs baby!!! New season, new life. Nothing that’s happened matters.

  11. Buccaneric Says:

The narrative all season was to let the offense out of the bag when it mattered. Let’s see how it plays out in the playoffs.

    Which start now. LFG!

  12. John Says:

This team is nasty with a line

  13. Old School Bucs Says:

All my losers in the house let me hear you scream and shout!!! Let me hear you scream and shout the House is on fire! Evans wont get 1000. Brady too old. Panthers will win! Let me hear you loud and proud!!!

See you losers in the superbowl!!!!

  14. bob Says:

    tb12 is the man

  15. Kentucky Buc Says:

Anyone else notice Brady in his interview. Looks like he’s put some weight back on.

  16. NEfan Says:

Kentucky, weight loss was from the divorce.

  17. Kentucky Buc Says:

    I agree NEfan. Stress

  18. LastDance Says:

Hey hater jackarses, you dont think its coaching? Do you know no-huddle challenges defenses ability to get constant pressure? Probably not… but anyway heres some stats for you (comes from some dude on Instagram, brian_boston214, who does his homework:

Bucs had 10 drives of at least 3 plays
    7 drives used zero no-huddle: 3 points
    3 drives used no-huddle: 3 touchdowns
    Tom Brady from no-huddle: 12 of 12, 226 yards, 3 TD
    (perfect 158.3 passer rating)

    orl,

Go back into your basement and eat the Fruit-Loops your Mama poured for you.

I mean, WTF? Get outta here.

I’ve had some reservations about some “fans” and their comments on this site, but you are BY FAR the most immature I’ve read in many years.

  20. D-Rok Says:

Now oral, IF you start giving proper blame to where it’s due this year – the HORRIBLE O-line play, then I might actually read what you have to say.

Until then, go back to heating up your Hot-Pockets, and stay in your lane (basement). GEEZ!!!!

  21. D-Rok Says:

    Old School,

I can dig it, man. Let’s get pumped up for an amazing post-season! Whether we win or lose, we are in the dance. 😉

  22. BA’s Red Pen Says:

I’ve been saying all season ME13 wasn’t the problem, thanks for having my back Brady!

  23. Buccos Says:

Evans looked faster than I have ever seen him. Those long legs were churning

  24. The Anomaly Says:

Just a pro’s pro…TB we are so blessed for these 3 years

    You have no idea

  25. david Says:

Class act and ME13 would be the first to say he was part of the problem too.

And so was the line, injuries, young tight ends , and a certain offensive coordinator

  26. BigBucs Says:

    Or four…?

  27. Bucsfan13 Says:

You want to know why Brady’s teammates have loved him? That comment right there. He always will take a bullet and give praises to his teammates. His whole press conference after the game was thanking his teammates. It’s why he never loses the locker room. Zach Wilson needs to learn from the best

  28. Youngbucs Says:

Thank you Tom for hitting open wrs today. Now maybe the joes can stop blaming coaches for one week. Because of players not making plays!!!!

  29. unbelievable Says:

Brady was awesome today. His best game if the season.

Evans was unstoppable after that early drop.

Hope they can keep it up. Almost feel like they need to play for a quarter next week just to keep the chemistry up.

  30. steele Says:

Typical of Brady to take the high road like the class act and team guy that he always is.

We all know it ain’t that simple. Evans has been off all season, bad attitude, giving up, pouting, letting himself get beat. Today he worked a little more alertly. and it showed. Now he needs to keep it up and earn his rep.

  31. NEfan Says:

Youngsucs, 100% correct can you imagine if these wr’s led in separation rather than the bottom 3rd in the league? It’s a beautiful thing to watch when they get open!

  32. garro Says:

Brady taking all the blame shows me that he is a man of character and not one of with an overblown ego. Add to that he is smart if it helps the team and him win…sure I’ll take the blame.

Some of the blame does go to ME becase I am sure he has quit and or slowed down on routes and that Tom has crawled his ass about it!
