Rob Parker: Todd Bowles Should Have Joined Byron Leftwich On Unemployment Line

January 28th, 2023

Harsh words from radio hosts.

Not everyone is dancing that failed former Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich was given walking papers.

On FOX Sports Radio, Chris Broussard, a regular on FS1’s hollering shows weekdays, and Rob Parker, who is sort of a hot take artist — think a toned-down Shannon Sharpe — took to the public’s airwaves to discuss the goings-on over at One Buc Palace last week.

While both admitted Leftwich did an awful job this season, both Broussard and Parker think the dismissals at One Buc Palace didn’t go far enough. They both thought Bucs coach Todd Bowles should have also been handed a pink slip.

Bowles ran too loose of a ship and claimed Bowles let Tom Brady walk all over him, Parker railed. And for that Bowles should have been removed.

“I’m serious, I know they fired like five coaches, six coaches total,” Parker began. “They cleaned house. But they left one guy out. And that’s Todd Bowles! Todd Bowles should have been fired!

“Everybody is a scapegoat but for Todd Bowles. I’m not going to let go of this. Todd Bowles is to blame for a lot that happened this year.

“He let Tom Brady undermine him as a coach. Missing training camp for 11 days. Missing a walk-through and [allowing Brady] to go to a wedding. And then [letting Brady] change plays and not going to the coach or the offensive coordinator? With the gameplan? That can’t happen.

“You can give [Brady] respect, but you are the coach! I’m sorry, it’s not just about one player, [Bowles has] 53 players to worry about. It’s the ultimate team game. It’s the sacrifice everybody has to do. Tom Brady wasn’t on that page!”

Joe sort of gets Parker’s take. He seems to think Brady had one set of rules and the rest of the team had another. Is this why people are making such a fuss over this video?

Look, the Bucs never have had, and never will have another guy like Brady. If you have to worry about Brady, you’ve got much bigger problems. Major problems.

If not for Brady the Bucs are picking in the top-ten in the draft this spring. Let’s call it like we see it.

Besides, dudes with seven rings not only have major street cred, that kind of jewelry buys bennies. Bowles is hardly the first coach to give a star player special treatment (if he gave Brady special treatment).

Hell, Bill Parcells looked the other way on a lot of Lawrence Taylor’s shenanigans (sleeping in meetings might have been the tamest). You know why? Because he was Lawrence freaking Taylor, that’s why!

Michael Jordan? Ever hear of the book “The Jordan Rules?” Because there were rules (very few) for Jordan and rules for Steve Kerr. Why? Because he was Michael freaking Jordan, that’s why.

Joe doesn’t know why this triggers people.

Even though I cannot stand Rob Parker………he’s 100% right.

  2. SB~LV Says:

    Yes!
    Praying he still does!
Sorry TB , you may be a fine person, you may be an excellent DC
But you are lacking the leadership skills to manage a roster and coaching staff.
    Peter Principal

  3. Beej Says:

As a defensive coordinator, Todd should have seen that the schemes and plays the Bucs were running should have been easily thwarted

  4. mark2001 Says:

Bingo. Cutting Bowles as well is what so many of us are thinking. Further, the problem isn’t having different rules for Brady… it isn’t getting the other players to understand why there are different rules for Brady. And to have them not begrudge that and play with no fire or intensity. And if you can’t do that, you aren’t a very good HC.

  5. mark2001 Says:

It is getting the other players to understand why there are different rules….

  6. Defense Rules Says:

Rob Parker … ‘He (Todd Bowles) let Tom Brady undermine him as a coach. Missing training camp for 11 days. Missing a walk-through and [allowing Brady] to go to a wedding. And then [letting Brady] change plays and not going to the coach or the offensive coordinator? With the gameplan? That can’t happen.’

Parker just threw Tom Brady under the bus BIG-TIME. Opens up a LOT of questions too about what was REALLY going on at One Buc Place in terms of game preparation AND execution.

  7. Tye Says:

as long as I have been a Bucs fan (decades) I can’t remember a time when so many agreed on one thing…
Very few if any are defending Bowels… A large portion of the fan base agree that he does NOT deserve to keep his job after such a fall from a high scoring team years before him!

  8. D-Rok Says:

    DR,

That was my take-away, too, from this article. What the heck happened at OBP this last season? SMH.

    Beej,

    BINGO!!!!

  9. Bucs Go Bucs Says:

Rob Parker has been Tom Brady hater for decades.
Anyone who agrees with him involving Tom Brady, I have zero respect.
I give him credit for passionately and consistently going against Brady.

    Go Bucs!

  10. D-Rok Says:

    PS:

Rob Freakin’ Parker? I consider him about as sharp as a marble.

  11. Bucfan Says:

Have to laugh every time I hear ‘Bowles did not have the chance to hire his own staff’. The staff he got won the SB two years ago and made it to the NFC championship game last season. What H/C would not want a staff with that track record? If it weren’t for Bowles’ defence, the Bucs would have made it back to back SB appearances. The only change this year was BA turning over a decent team to Bowles. How did that work out?

  12. Alanbucsfan Says:

How much credibility is there to the notion that maybe some or many of the coaches who were dismissed were undermining or disrespecting Bowles in the locker room?
Bowles was installed as Head Coach in late March if I remember due to BA’s sudden retirement and had no opportunity to put his own staff together.
Instead of blaming Brady, maybe look at the coaches who were dismissed.

  13. Reality BucFan Says:

We don’t know how we would have looked If Brady was Gone .. let Kyle play with the 1s he may shock you.. Who said anything good about Brock Purdy… Exactly let em play

  14. SB~LV Says:

Fine mess you have created Brucey Bruce
Ride off into the sunset on your golf cart

  15. stpetebucfan Says:

Like Rita I have an open mind. Like Forrest Gump I realize sometimes sht happens.

Brady’s failing marriage, the loss of 15lbs, the loss of prep time were all contributors to his and the Buc’s bad season. There are many other factors.

I too am critical of choices made by Bowles, mostly on play calls, but I can’t really throw him under the Bus for observing “Brady rules”. I was very put off by Brady however going to the stupid Kraft wedding. Kraft is a total jackass expecting anybody from the NFL to attend his wedding during the season. He should have had a June wedding!
Brady let his ole bud Kraft force him into a stupid decision.

  16. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    * Bucco Bruce Arians is not the reason the Bucs failed this year

    * Tom Brady taking time off is not the reason the Bucs failed this year

    * Byron Leftwich is not the reason the Bucs failed this year

……….Poor leadership by the headcoach is the reason the Bucs failed this year…..period!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Allen Lofton Says:

The problem with Todd Bowles is that he is very rigid, set in his ways – that results in putting off decisions that should be addressed. You saw it play out by kicking field goals when other coaches went for the TD’s to win the game.

  18. BrianBucs Says:

Bowles should have been fired for quite a few reasons.
Glazers deciding to give Bowles another year just gives Bucs fans another wasted season and just delays the inevitable

  19. NEfan Says:

What did I miss in the video except a QB trying to get his team motivated and a coach no where in sight? Isn’t that commonplace QB’s talking their team up? I’ll rewatch it maybe I missed something. First I heard him changing the game plan. Parker must be the modern day version of Sherlock homes.

  20. Tony1775 Says:

Yep, keeping him will just throw away more coaching staff delaying rebuild. Todd will fail here like he has done as HC for Jets.

  21. Goatfarmer Says:

I can’t stand Rob Parker. He was calling Brady washed 10 years ago. He is a male appendage with ears.

But I Have to agree with him in this case. And I hate it.

  22. DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH Says:

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT , TODD NEEDS TO GO TOO., WHY WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR , FIRE HIS ASS NOW…….

  23. Casual Observer Says:

I suspect Bowles will lead us down the wrong path again. Big mistake to keep him.

  24. Michael cutler Says:

Does it matter if Todd remains another year. He was put in charge because he is a friend of TOM BRADY. This was all his doing. He command alot of respect due to who he is. Money talks. Now that hes gone expect atleast five to seven year turn around to get a decent tam back here.

  25. Common sense is not common Says:

Rob Parker has been booted from every job he’s ever had for being an idiot. He hates Brady. Please do some research on this guy before you listen to anything he has to say. Quoting this guy is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Parker has an ugly past. Google is your friend. I don’t understand why Chris Broussard has anything to do with him. Career suicide. The biggest idiot of them all.

  26. Marine Buc Says:

Beating Carolina probably saved Todd Bowles’ job. His defenses have always been solid. If the Bucs can pair him with a more competent OC we will have a chance to repeat as NFC South champs…

  27. HC Grover Says:

    He’s right you know.

  28. mark2001 Says:

with a more competent OC we will have a chance to repeat as NFC South champs…
Agree. But does that mean we will be able to really compete against the best in the NFC, much less the best in the AFC? That is a different question. And unless we can keep the D together in Free Agency? Probably not.

  29. Joe Swanson Says:

I don’t care who you get as OC this team is going nowhere under Bowles. If we would have lost to Carolina we would be picking in the top ten. Time to move on.

  30. Thugster Says:

You got Rooney ruled bus fans, you should be outraged. Bowels ran the jets into the ground, set the franchise back for a decade with his incompetence as a leader, that is your future, get ready to waste your money for 10 years ticket holders

  31. Cobraboy Says:

    Pool leadership—->no heart—->no emotion—->no pride—->crap execution—->8-9 & one and done.

  32. Cobraboy Says:

    Poor

  33. Ronald T Felicelli Says:

Yes the head coach should have been fired too when they show him on the side line no motion no nothing like a lump on the log he suck when he was a New York Jets head coach he sucked when he was Tampa bay coach we had a winning team and look at it sitting on the sideline

  34. ClwJB Says:

Been screaming this for weeks and weeks

Bowles is a bum as a HC

    Overpromoted twice now

    Failure waiting to happen

  35. Rita Moreno, Football Analyst Says:

Rita can see many people struggling with the reality that Todd will be back. Rita cares. Rita recommends having an open mind about next season. Sometimes we’re all proven wrong, so say Rita… Also, Rita wonders if you really want to be wound up about Todd Bowles all offseason. Enjoy the game. Enjoy the process. Hope for the best. This is Rita’s best advice. Rita cares.

    RIta is love.

  36. Captain Vic Says:

Joe and most others on this post are 100% right. This is not about Brady, that’s all deflection and smoke screen. This was a systemic failure, top down , front office and coaches! Leftwich deserved to be fired, he earned that result! Should have been gone by mid-season. Watching him try and “coach” Tom Brady was the most “offensive” thing he did all season. If I was Brady I would have called an audible on almost every play at the line of scrimmage. Leftwich made zero adjustments, in game or at halftime. No imagination or creativity. Where were the plays!? A little motion, a little misdirection, an end around. The only games we won were on sheer Talent differential , and/ or Brady’s clutch savvy. I used to be a fan of Bowles as a DC, but then there’s “the catch” from last year’s title game, where the Rams # 1, the best receiver in football that season was somehow left one-on-one running past our strong safety, when we were supposed to be in a prevent defense! They said it was “bad communication”. Same thing all season when our DBS had blown coverage, allowing rookie quarterbacks to make easy throws to wide open receivers. “Bad communication”. They run a trick play that hits Gio Bernard right in the face mask, bad communication? Did they even practice that all week!? Bad communication, wk after wk=equals bad coaching, & lack of preparation. Fire them all

  37. Marine Buc Says:

    @ mark

You have to win the division first. You never know what happens in the playoffs. Even if a team only wins 10-11 games they can still get to the Super Bowl.

Injuries have a lot to do with it. I’ve never seen a team more snake bite by injuries than the Bucs last season…

My expectations are low at the moment – but if the Bucs are able to hire Todd Monken as OC then Brady announces his return – I will feel pretty good about things.

Without Brady returning we will be in rebuild mode and will probably win @ 4 games.

  38. BucsfanFred Says:

I would never have fired leftwitch. No way!
I’d have fired bowlzo and let the new head coach fire all the other coaches.
Bowlzo should be a head coach on Dale Maybry.

  39. J Says:

If any coach deserved to be “walked all over”, it was Bowles.

  40. SB~LV Says:

Rita what or how many Rx’s to mellow you so ?

  41. TheBucsAnthem Says:

First off…….why in God’s green earth would Todd Monken leave the #1 college football program in the nation for a franchise who is starting to rebuild? Why?…….he’d be absolutely crazy if he did that.

So no, he ain’t coming here.

  42. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

I’ve said this time & time again, Bowles is not a good HC. It showed this past year & it showed in the past. Why can everybody see this except the Bucs qwnership & front office. I predict that with Bowles as HC the Bucs will not win the division or even make the playoffs.

  43. Bosch Says:

Having a double standard that favors Brady is the least of Bowels’ failures as HC. It fact, it might be the only thing he did NOT fail at.

  44. beano Says:

Bowles knows his ass is on the line. I predict he goes with a young quarterback to develop him. That buys him at least a few years with the Glazers.

  45. Marine Buc Says:

    @ TheBucsAnthem

What if the Bucs offer him a 5 year fully guaranteed contract for $15M?

What would he have to lose?

Plus – he would probably be considered the #1 Head Coach prospect after Bowles is fired…

  46. Common sense is not common Says:

Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson and Howie Long called Rob Parker an idiot on National TV. Check the vid. The guy is pure trash.

  47. SB~LV Says:

I want to change it to
    ToldYaSo

  48. geno711 Says:

I am not saying that Parker’s take is wrong but by what he says, it appears that he has some limited facts that we all have. Even us casual fans.

Then he just makes a hot take without any real insight. Not sure why someone would appreciate his take over one of the Joe’s, or even one of the people that regularly follow the Bucs and post here.

  49. Rita Moreno, Football Analyst Says:

Rita thinks all the bellyaching and kvetching isn’t going to make Todd Bowles go away. RIta is a realist. Rita thinks remaining open-minded is mentally healthier… Rita knows b!tching and moaning all offseason changes nothing, just keeps you p!ssed. Life goes on, so say Rita.

Rita cares. Rita is here for you.

  50. Infomeplease Says:

I’ve been saying Fire Bowles since week 7 or 8!!! Let’s face reality: he is still here!!

  51. Wade Landry Says:

A friend of mine from the old days played one year for Parcells told a story about a player who complained about Taylor’s practice load being privileged and he said P. went on a expletives laden rant the content was “when you do what he does on Sunday, you can talk ,until then ,shut the F up….”…..nuff said..

  52. biff barker Says:

    Todd Bowles was installed.

Licht you are in serious trouble for trusting blow hard Bruce. Better get a new HC because you are next.

You cant build a new coaching staff with Bowles either.

  53. sasquatch Says:

    Rita is very wise.

  54. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

He’s so close to nailing it. He could have told the truth about Bowles without saying Byron was a good OC.

  55. mark2001 Says:

Sorry Rita… you can’t put a cowpie on sliced bread and call it a steak sandwich.

  56. Elita Vita Says:

C’mon guys. Leave Rita alone. She’s just “feeling pretty”.

  57. Vin Says:

As a Jets fan I can attest to this about Bowles. Great guy, great defensive coordinator, HORRIBLE Head Coach. The inmates run the asylum when he’s in charge. Some guys just aren’t meant to be HC’s. He’s one of them.

  58. LastDance Says:

Parker is a moron! He is right Bowles should be fired. He is a fool to think the greatest players dont deserve some leeway, especially at 45 and with a fooked up home life wrecking his mojo.
Bowles is to blame for poor preparation and not adjusting. For the product on the field that was so poor. I dont think LTs teams suffered because he got a little special treatment. The coach sets the tone. Even Belichick lets folks off for serious family stuff. But he doesn’t let the rest of the players quit and give no heart.

  59. Popsmoke Says:

Bowles has always been a terrible HC. Look at his coaching record with the Jets. He had one good season after taking over a good Jets team and then never won more than 5 games in either of the last three.

He’s done nothing in his HC career to show that he knows how to win or have any offense. We wasted an entire season and will lose more if he’s not ousted.

Sorry Rita… you can’t put a cowpie on sliced bread and call it a steak sandwich.

Rita’s not selling cowpies or steak sandwiches. Rita thinks this is a poor metaphor.

You know what though, it is actually possible to have an open mind and admit that you don’t really know how next season will turn out. You could give it a chance instead of the incessant b!tching. So say Rita.

Rita’s observation is that you prefer to amplify the hatred and general negativity. It would appear to be your preferred state of mind. Choose your own suffering. So say Rita.

    Rita cares.

  61. Bali High Says:

    Don’t feed the troll

Rita is here to help. Rita is here to bring sanity to a toxic negative environment. Seems that is difficult to accept for many here. It would appear, to rational people, that what we have here is a room full of miserable people who haven’t figured out how to manage frustration and therefore spend their time b!tching and moaning and being reinforced by others who are addicted to their own misery as well. So say Rita.

Consider Rita your addiction counselor. Rita is your sponsor. Rita is here to shepherd you through the valley of darkness.

Rita is a pragmatist. Rita does not believe in needless suffering. Rita is love.

Rita looks forward to seeing how the 2023 coaching staff is put together. Rita has not given up on Todd Bowles because Rita cannot see the future. Rita thinks all the negativity is a delusional certainty about the truth of reactionary opinions. Rita thinks this is not necessary or healthy.

    Rita cares.

  65. Rita Moreno, Football Analyst Says:

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.

    So say Rita.

  66. stpetebucfan Says:

    WHAT RITA SAYS!!!

  67. westernbuc Says:

Parker’s wrong. Brady came to Tampa because we gave him what he wanted. Office space for Alex Guerrero, weapons to throw to, and eventually time off during training camp for him to try and salvage his marriage.

Bowles was hired into that. Not to mention he has BA looking over his shoulder and Licht runs the organization.

He runs the defense, which was solid despite missing several key players (Shaq Barrett, anyone?) while the offense flailed and couldn’t sustain drives. Bowles earned another year.

As for “cleaned house” we still have like 30 coaches left

  68. mark2001 Says:

Oh Rita…if you were a long term Bucs fan you would know we are treading familiar ground. Based upon your age, you could have gone to university with Hugh Culverhouse. And if you knew him and watched the team since its’ inception, you would get that feeling that you have seen this rodeo before. Sticking with a head coach that largely fails to meet expectations rarely works well in the future; at least in Tampa; it hasn’t in decades. Wouldn’t it be great if it were otherwise? That being said when talking about all the things that would have to fall into place for this team to be really competitive again, just remember…. If “ifs” and “buts” were candy and nuts, we’d all have a merry Christmas.

  69. steele Says:

Parker is right about Bowles being the main problem. HE SHOULD GO. But he’s only partially correct about Brady.

Brady’s mysterious actions during camp and preseason were approved by Bowles, Licht, Glazers. Or he wouldn’t have been able to do it. Therefore, it was not “undermining”. You could make the argument that it was damaging on many levels, and it did, as seen from the outside, harm on-field chemistry and effectiveness. But if the bosses encouraged it, then who’s fault was it?

There were a lot of internal problems that have contributed to the weird malaise cutting across this team, from the Super Bowl hangover to the Antonio Brown fiasco and forward.

Because there has not been a good head coaching regime for years, and I include Arians in this indictment, no one has fixed these things.

  70. Butch Says:

I now live in Costa Rica but my house and business are decorated in the Bucs memorabilia I collected during 19 years as a season ticket holder. I sat through the the years where I could predict 75%of the plays the Bucs were going to run, and this year, with Leftwich was pretty much the same. We need a more innovative OC, whether TB returns or not. I’ll always be a diehard Bucs fan, but I was hoping for Leftwich’s release all season long.
    Go Bucs, forever!!!

  71. Mike Says:

Rob the (idiot) Parker back in 2016 said that Tom was washed up and every yr since has predicted his teams would not make the playoffs!! He once called Willie Mays a coward!!! Parker is a complete ZERO!!

Fan since inception. Rita doesn’t think long-term disappointment is a good excuse to constantly b!tch and moan.

Ya know, Rita noticed the Bucs have 2 Superbowls under their belt. Some franchises have zero.

Rita thinks with a good offensive coordinator this past year, the team could have been 10-7 or 11-6.

Rita has noticed how people just like taking a dump on Todd Bowles because they’re bitter. With some changes, this team could be more competitive in 2023. Thing is, we don’t know. The incessant negativity helps no one, so say Rita.

Rita thinks an open mind is a better approach.

Because there has not been a good head coaching regime for years, and I include Arians in this indictment, no one has fixed these things.

I’ll take a head coach who gets us a Superbowl and a 13-4 record over a two year span. If that’s no good, I don’t know what your standards are.

  74. one9combo Says:

Every time i think of Bowles the thought of Cooper Kupp running down the middle of the field on a zero cover blitz comes to mind. Bucs would of won in OT & repeat.

  75. Peter Says:

Tom Brady should be calling every single play. In fact, he should be the freaking offensive coordinator.

That’s the way it used to be until Landry came around in the early ’70s. (Talking about play calling not OC)

  76. mark2001 Says:

With some changes, this team could be more competitive in 2023. Thing is, we don’t know. Your prerogative.

And I think without some more major changes organizationally, this team won’t be competitive in 2023. And our cap situation makes them even more difficult.

“Rita has noticed how people just like taking a dump on Todd Bowles because they’re bitter.” That doesn’t sound very open minded, at it assumes you know why people believe about Bowles as they do, when you don’t seem to. And it assumes people are dumping on Bowles because they are bitter. Nothing personal regarding Bowles. He seems like a nice guy. But I wouldn’t want Santa Clause or the Pope to be the HC either. I’m simply saying that Bowles track record shows nothing to make me believe he can effectively lead the team forward. Didn’t say it is impossible. And It isn’t about a closed mind. But the question is, is openness and belief based upon historical facts? Or Candy and Nuts?

  77. Oneilbuc Says:

Peter. It’s been confirmed that Brady was changing the game plan the day before the game and BL didn’t know until the day of the game. So it was the plays that Brady wanted. Stop making excuses for Brady’s bad play on the field lol 🤣🤣 . This franchise gave Brady everything he wanted and then some and it back fired on the team. Brady had more power than the coaches and GM and he went behind the teams back to have a meeting with the Miami dolphins to play with them. He didn’t even want to play here and that’s why he went to a party the day before the game and didn’t even fly with the team going to the game and coming back from the game. He left the team for 11 days doing training camp . This guy has shown y’all he didn’t want to play here all year and y’all keep kissing Brady’s behind lol 🤣🤣🤣 this is the weak links of the fan base on this site lol 🤣🤣 all you do every day on here is kiss Brady but on this site.

  78. mark2001 Says:

One thing I find interesting is how quickly so many fans have written off the rest of our division. NO is one QB away from being as good a team as we are. And Carolina, but for allowing ME to get off, is almost, maybe as good as we are. And with a good draft, and FA signings, how far is ATL away…they have the second most cap space and a top 10 draft pick? Just saying. Don’t allow the tremendous luck we had this year of almost backing into the division title fool you. Next year could be quite different.

  79. NEfan Says:

Oneilsuckyall, who exactly confirmed Brady was changing the game plan? Also if this is true, to what extent and who says BL didn’t say go for it we’ll review it in the AM? If ANYONE believes Brady’s game plan consists of run up the gut on 1st down and no PA or pick routes, short crossing routes then you’re insane. BL stated himself he can’t run PA without a running game, BS. I do believe Brady may have gone over hurry up routes and plays. That makes more sense.

  80. Tom lamphier Says:

Fire Todd Bowles.good lord he stunk it up. I absolutely hate seeing his no emotion behind on sidelines a dead beat.

  81. Ben Says:

He’s right but who cares. Brady is gone. Tampa is now irrelevant again. That effort they put out there was embarrassing.

  82. Bucamania Says:

Totally agree. Who thinks Todd Bowles is going to turn this ship around? No one.

  83. SKBucsFan Says:

    Most obvious headline yet Joe.

  84. BUCman Says:

Glazer family are you listening? Please fire Bowles now!! We all new he was not Head coach material last year when you promoted him. Why make us suffer through another lifeless, uninspired season unless the goal is to have the number one overall pick in 2024.

  85. Incognitoe Says:

Play Trask and let Bowles get us a high pick
Then fire Bowles and draft a qb if Trask fails
If Trash plays well then draft a stud OL
Then you’ll have a new coach and high draft pick in 2024
If you give fans hope and show them a plan they’ll
come back if not they’ll lose the STM’s added in the
    Brady years

  86. Rpg Says:

Please don’t waste another season making me watch another Todd Bowles run team! If you want to demote him to defensive coordinator fine. He has no ability as a head coach.
