Gerald McCoy Is Ready

December 29th, 2022

Showing his old team social media love.

Joe thinks this is way cool.

Most guys not embraced by a new coaching staff aren’t exactly cheerleaders for their former team.

Former Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was not retained for the 2019 season when Bucco Bruce Arians arrived in town, despite the fact GMC regularly worked out at One Buc Palace.

Two years later, the Bucs won it all.

But GMC has been loyal to Tampa Bay. A man who just may have his name in the Ring of Honor someday didn’t walk away from the team who drafted him in 2010.

In fact, GMC, now that it appears his football-playing days are over, attends Bucs home games and an occasional road game here or there.

GMC, like most Bucs fans, is fired up for Sunday. It’s a rare, rare, rare win-and-you’re-in home game for the Bucs. Joe honestly cannot remember the last time the Bucs hosted such a game. Probably not since Chucky roamed the sidelines.

It is that simple. If the Bucs beat the Stinking Panthers Sunday, the Bucs will wrap up the NFC South. If the Bucs lose, they are going to need help from the slimy Saints. Joe doesn’t know about you but it would be a hard pill to swallow to pull for the slimy Saints so the Bucs can play (at least) a playoff game at home. Yick!

Win and who knows what happens in the playoffs? Lose, and it could be the end of an era in Tampa Bay.

GMC probably relates strongly to this years dysfunctional Bucs team

    Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica

    What Vlad The Inhaler Said…👆🏻

Perhaps it’s a personal services deal with The Glazer’s after $100 million +

Always the nicest guy. Quality guy.

Would have been a great neighbor. Great babysitter for my kids when they were little.

    Good football player. Solid.

Never game changing, never won a game with a play in the 4th quarter unless holding on to Matt Ryan’s ankle on 4th down counts. I’m sure the Players are listening to Geraldine like they listen to Bowels. (Cue Charlie Brown’s teacher.)

  5. DoooshLaRue Says:

Will the Soft Cancer be rooting for the Bucs or the Panthers this weekend?
Yes, he was a Buc, but he felt like he was finally Home when the Panthers signed him.

This article was no doubt written by Silly Joe.

Heck….. let’s extend Durable Donnie while we’re celebrating high priced mediocrity.

  6. Dwight Schrute Says:

FACT: Gerald McCoy never was on a team that won a playoff game!

Just keep on pushing, man. Don’t ever give up. Don’t listen to the naysayers and stay away from the dream killers, people who tell you you can’t do it or you don’t have it or this team isn’t this or this team isn’t that. That’s all from the outside looking in. Us on the inside of those four walls, we never stopped believing and we haven’t stopped believing. We kept preparing the same every week and we just persevered.

I would rather have GMC than JTS, but would rather have Suh than both of them.

  9. steele Says:

So now that Tua is concussed again and getting told to shut it down for good…does that make the Brady-to-Miami thing more realistic?

The more important question will be, what team has an offensive scheme tailored to Tom Brady? Those would be the viable targets.

  10. Drew Says:

I’m against it we are soft already we don’t need the softest dude. If they sign him. We gave up on the whole season. No!!!!!, absolutely not.

  11. TheBucsAnthem Says:

One of the most complex and worst draft pics in Bucs history.

How many times in a season he gets called for penalties????

How many games he just disappears and his play is very forgettable???

…….and remember when he pouted in the locker room when things didn’t go his way????

……in many ways he probably was one of the most over hyped player in Bucs history.

  12. SufferingSince76 Says:

    Sign him. We need bodies.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

No matter what you think of the guy….it’s great to welcome all Buc fans….I think his support is genuine.
    Thanks for it….GMC!!!

  14. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

I was just thinking about him during the last game. Towards the end the Cards tried to get us to jump offsides. It was the perfect setup for him to blow the game

  15. SB~LV Says:

    🫣
He did say he would retire a Buc

  16. Jeff Says:

GMC is a class act. Not my favorite personality but a class act all the way.

  17. jvigz Says:

Really hope the guy doesnt make it into the ring of honor. Made one play that mattered in his whole career. Defensive leader on horrible defenses that made every backup qb look like an all pro. Nice guy but just a decent player, does not deserve it.

  18. Jvato24 Says:

Also win and possibly lose 8 draft slots

  19. Buc4evr Says:

Sign him. He can’t be worse than Hicks.

  20. Bucobill999 Says:

She aint never been that good besides that 1st yr of schianos reign overrated career LOSER no thxs

  21. Kyle Says:

Can gmc please teach our defensive players to help the other team get up off the ground and wipe their arses as they get back to the huddle?

  22. BucU Says:

    Sign him = Doesn’t matter.
    Don’t sign him = Doesn’t matter.
This team sucks with or w/o him.

  23. Kyle Says:

If the team needs ice cream, hire him..

  24. Copey91 Says:

Last time they had a game like that and won was 2008 against Atlanta. I was there and it was a fun atmosphere.

  25. ChattBucsFan Says:

    Best cheerleader Bucs ever drafted.

  26. Capt.Tim Says:

So odd to hear “football fans” blame a Defensive tackle for losing teams.
I can tell some of you havent seen many games- but the defensive tackle doesnt touch the football. Hard to influence a game.
Aaron Donald finally got his ring- but it was won by Stafford.
Suh, who everyone here loves, was on horrible teams. Didnt win a SuperBowl until he played here.

    I bet ya this.
Gerald McCoy would be a MASSIVE upgrade over Logan Hall. We could at least stop the run

  27. BucsWinningTheShip Says:

GMC deserved better from the fan base.

  28. Oneilbuc Says:

Capt. That’s just the way bucs fans are they hate all the former players that played here. McCoy was on a 32 ranked defense one or two man can’t change the whole defense. Now he’s actually rooting for the team to win and y’all still bashing the man. Look how bad Brady been playing all year but it’s he don’t trust his o line, it’s BL fault when Brady throws the ball in the dirt or throw a pick. This defense has been good all season but 2 games and Brady and the offense has been trash but it ain’t Brady fault for the offense. Lol 🤣🤣 ok

  29. Sucatkane Says:

    Agree with Oneilbuc
Most of Joebucsfans people are dirt trash GMC has been a long time fan and your bashing him I really would like to see one day when bucs fans are actually happy we win Sunday we are in if we do win there will still be everyone here complaining oh we barely won we suck and it’s sickening

  30. Crickett Baker Says:

Yah, I am sick of it, too.

  31. Sb Says:

Funny, am I the only one that remembers his pre game speech with the panthers before he played the BUCS?

  32. Oneilbuc Says:

We winning this game Sunday y’all book it !!! Go Bucs!!!

  33. Natron Says:

    Very overrated and very overpaid
