Tom Brady Doesn’t Want To Hear Any Playoff Talk

November 24th, 2022

Focused on now.

When Tom Brady played with the Belicheats, some seasons began rather blah and then the next thing you know the Belicheats were in the Super Bowl.

A big reason was No. 12.

This season, and since 2020, No. 12 has been playing for the Bucs. And here Tampa Bay stands entering Week 11 with a 5-5 record, though perched atop the lousy NFC South.

Yesterday, Brady was asked about the Bucs perhaps making a Super Bowl run despite beginning a blah 5-5. Basically, Brady said any such talk is garbage unless the Bucs worry about what’s directly in front of them.

“I don’t think you can think that far ahead,” Brady said. “I think it’s kind of pointless. You’ve got to think about what’s in the moment and what we have ahead of us this week, and it’s a tough game. It’s a tough opponent.

“Everyone wants to jump ahead and think about things that are so far down the road. It’s kind of a waste of time. Really, just focus on having a good practice, correct what we messed up, put together three good days of practice and then be prepared to play.

“Again, you can only win one game this week, and that game’s on Sunday. So, build what we can to make sure we play our best on Sunday.”

Brady is correct and thank goodness he didn’t mumble, “One game at a time” or, “We’re on to Cleveland.”

If the Bucs cannot beat Cleveland, and Joe isn’t (yet) convinced the Bucs have turned the corner, then there are much bigger problems than if they can make a Super Bowl run in two months.

Take care of Cleveland. Then worry about the slimy Saints. And so on.

    Preach on TB. Thank you.

No one better to know and tell the truth than you.

Tell Bowelswich that Nick starts at LG on Sunday. Tell them you’ll do the first 15 play script and call the game from there.

Tell LVD to make sure Diva doesn’t get bored, and score enough points since without Vita the Browns are running for 140 yards plus.

  2. SOEbuc Says:

Thank you Tom. Half a game ahead of Crows but the Bucs are definitely the lock for the South like we haven’t sucked the last 9 games before Munich.

  3. garro Says:

That, folks is a leader! Hear that D White?
He’s not talking about how many TDs he’s gonna get on Sunday!

  4. Austin Christopher Lewis Says:

I tell you what man alot of you guys like to whine on here. This team is great, and stacked. Your not going to be perfect every game. Still can’t believe we lost to steelers and panthers. But we made up for it. Now we gotta keep on dominating, like we have been since bye week 2020. We got a great team, tom brady knows it

  5. Tap-Out Says:

Austin C L … whining while we winning, make it make since!

  6. Tap-Out Says:

See if we can talk Brady into coming back for 2023 then get in position to draft Sheduer Sanders / SS396 …for the future !

  7. Tap-Out Says:

Said we would be together, said we’d never die, how could you love me and leave me and never say good bye! Come back Tom 2023!

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Thank goodness Brady has his head screwed on straight……we fans have the luxury of thinking ahead but the players & coaches need to focus on the next game.

  9. NEfan Says:

Mumble, I get Joe a shot at Belichick. He’s not perfect but what he does well is teach discipline and you are right, Brady is just regurgitating what has been subliminally planted in his head for 20 years and whole heartily believes it.

  10. Statistically Insignificant Reader Says:

    Like Brady’s focus:
“Again, you can only win one game this week, and that game’s on Sunday. So, build what we can to make sure we play our best on Sunday.”

    Make it happen.

  11. Alanbucsfan Says:

The weather is forecast 50 degrees and rain – anything can happen

  12. Hodad Says:

Tom must have read, Be Here Now from Rahm Das. Good book that preaches live in the moment, not in the past, or future. Be Here Now.

  13. Devinwhiteshorse2 Says:

Tb12 sounds like his “ focused “ self again. Love to see it! Go Bucs

  14. Kentucky Buc Says:

    ‘It’s what’s happening
    Right here and now’

“ Take care of Cleveland. Then worry about the slimy Saints. And so on. “
In other words- one game at a time

  16. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Cleveland’s got a big time pass rush on one side of the ball, and chubby on the other. And a seldom used quarterback starting. Plus rain means slippery balls. Omg. I hope our d doesn’t slip back into lawn chair mode🤞
When we go lawn chair it gets fugly.

  17. BKBuc Says:

    Just win baby!

  18. Goatfarmer Says:

    Slippery balls.

Lake Erie area weather changes on a dime and is weird. Whatever the forecast is now, it will be different on Sunday.

I can’t really figure Out why everyone ist so hyper about the Munich Game… Sure ist was a ein, but I personally didn’t See all that much to get excited about. There we’re a few good plays, but in general it was mediocre at best. I have seen this team Play much better, making plays that actually were worth getting excited about, but the Game against the Seahawks was absolutely nothing special.
I will believe that they are actually playing better and as a Team when they Start clicking in more than that one Game.

  20. Wargazmus_27 Says:

    *damned autocorrecting… *Sure it was a win…

  21. SPARKY Says:

Another one of Brady’s talents, nobody plays better in adverse weather than him.

  22. George Says:

This weeks game is going to be tough . Goedeke starting puts us right back in the gutter .

  23. 2022 return of the goat Says:

They All need to hold each other accountable, to doing there Job.

  24. Rod Munch Says:

No kidding, 2 weeks ago every dope on this website was crying about the season being over, including some idiots going as far as saying to play Trask. Now 2 weeks later you have dopes talking about being the 3rd seed in the playoffs and already planning out where they want to sit in the playoffs.

  25. MadMax Says:

Playoff thinking is a joke right now….just win the next fn game!

  26. brooks Says:

    Looking at schedule smart move.

  27. The Beer Whisperer Says:

    Welp, I’m sorry Tom.

I’ve already made reservations with my caterer, for when I’m watching Bucs play-off games. She agreed to bring my beers to me, and fix me a sammich, if I get hungry.

  28. bob Says:

    one game at a time

  29. Ed McSherry Says:

    “The TV commentators” don’t help.

I kinda cringe every time they say (and this is even before the final drive with the Rams & the Munich game):
“Oh, don’t worry about the Bucs, they’ll probably make the playoffs anyway, because their division is so easy,.”

    Uh, not helping!

They forget “the curse of the saints.” Even though it was broken earlier this year; it’ll probably take two in a row to drive the stake home for good. Can’t wait for the rematch.

If I remember the Super Bowl year correctly: the first half of the season saw the Buccaneers with a “needless turnovers n’ penalties” record near the bottom of all football; which would have been a totally unacceptable situation for a Belichick & Brady team (Bruce didn’t even seem to notice as long as “the deep ball” was flying.”

Then, in the second half of the season, and especially after the bye week, it all disappeared, and the Buccaneers started playing up around the top; for the least turnovers and penalties.

It wasn’t by way of pure magic, it was probably because, during the bye week, is when Brady makes a lot of calls and texts to all the players, and does some serious speech-making around the locker room on: “How to win a Super Bowl by winning one game @ a time 101.”

  30. chark Says:

TB12 biggest asset is that he is mentally wired right. He would be the first to say I am not that good I have bad games.. I just make/ motivate others to be “wired in” to the moment. He is a leader in the right way is his biggest asset. I think his ability to compartmentalize segments of the game/series/ season whether 1st qtr or 3rd 4th qtr is what separates him from others. He is the best self made player I have ever seen. He came into the league looking like a frat bot who was good at volleyball and intramural football and competed with people with way more physical ability. Thats why I really like the dude. Not saying this season will end well but as a bucs fan since 76 i am happy and hopeful.

  31. Ontario Mike Says:

Couldn’t help but notice how frequently NE kept doing play action and their QB had all day to pick out an open WR. Don’t think we need to emphasize the run so much. Use the pass to set up the run. We have the all time best back there to dissect Cleveland’s crappy pass defence.
