Logan Ryan Itching To Get Back

November 13th, 2022

Gives rehab update.

Is it OK to think a Bucs starting defensive player senses the tide is turning?

Joe got that vibe reading a Twitter from Bucs defensive back Logan Ryan. He had surgery on his foot — he had a “Jones fracture” — and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network typed at the time that Ryan would miss several weeks if not the full regular season.

Ryan already served the minimum four games a player must sit out when placed on injured reserve. Today’s win was the fourth.

Joe sure gets the sense Ryan is pumped about returning. In fact, Ryan said he’s getting close.

The way Joe reads it, Ryan senses the Bucs are rounding into form after today’s physical win over the first-place Seahawks and he’s eager to get back and be a part of something special.

When Ryan was healthy, the Bucs had the flexibility to have three guys on the field simultaneously who could all play nickel cornerback and each safety position: Antoine Winfield, Jr. and Mike Edwards. That made the defense harder for quarterbacks to read.

    Who? Never heard of him.

  2. Rod munch’s daddy Says:

Rod do you ever shut up? I swear I don’t think you have ever posted anything positive..that and you think you know more than anyone else..time for your bunkhouse and diaper change.

  3. Clapton is God! Says:

Rod, seem to be in a bad space today brother. Huge win and we get Ryan back we see less of smb. He was a problem today.

  4. Rod Munch Says:

Clapton – I’d rather see a lot less of Mike Edwards, he’s been awful.

  5. Clapton is God! Says:

He was slipin and sliding today for sure

  6. calbucsfan Says:

What the heck happened to Vita Vea? He was on the pre-game injury report yet a no-show? Did he forget to get a visa in time?

  7. calbucsfan Says:

VV was NOT on the pre-game injury report….

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

A good defense will get better with some rest & Ryan.

  9. David Smythe Says:

Everybody (Brady) was slipping and sliding on that turf today.

    Getting Ryan and Jensen back
after the bye will be huge!!

  10. Toe Drag Dave Says:

Get Jensen back and move Hainsey to LG

  11. Miller5252 Says:

Dudes a stud and hes huge in the development of Winfield. I really think he’s the QB of the defense and with him back, it’s only going to make everyone better. I’m glad he’s not missing the bonding with his teammates, it’s a huge part of building a winning team! Hope he’s back soon

  12. Mike C Says:

    Rod, you ok bro?

  13. Goatfarmer Says:

The tide went out for the defense when he hurt the foot. With him back and provided Toine stays healthy, the back end will be in great shape. If Hicks can keep from spraining a vulvamajora muscle, the front end could be ok as well.

Whatever TB12 does, he can’t let bMoron regress. The run calls apparently had blocking schemes that the OL knew what to do on and the backs actually found holes. A lot like week 1. Did someone steal Leftwurst’s run play sheet and he got confused thinking he was calling these runs? Lots of pulling and double teaming today. Thank you.

  14. Toe Drag Dave Says:

Vea was a beast, he wasn’t on the stat sheet but the dude was double teamed all day and still got push into the backfield.

  15. kyle Says:

clapton.. good post, spot on.. love to see Ryan back!

  16. dmatt Says:

Two players that has played like garbage, 1. Jaelon Darden, hasn’t improved since last year. I don’t know why Bowles won’t activate Devon Thompson n give him a try at punt return because Darden’s only yac is after a fair catch or 3-4 yd return when he starts yakking at the opposing team as if he’s a super star play maker. 2. Sean Murphy Bunting, he gets lost in space n is a poor tackler. I’d like to replace him with Don Gardner. Will someone please let Scotty Miller know there’s no need to jump up for the ball when it’s right in your chest. He’s suspect during crunch time, he plays timid. Devon Thompson has some of the best secret kept hands. Wake up Bowles!

  17. JimmyJack Says:

The good thing is this secondary has played really good without Ryan. Bunting today was in position to make a few plays and couldnt get the job done today……Ryan is probably an upgrade and makes a 1 or 2 of them plays today.

  18. Dreday Says:

Great news! He can go back to safety, Winfield back to the slot and SMB back to the bench.

  19. JimmyJack Says:

Dmatt Darden has actually been a pretty good returner for us this year. And i think he is one of the top yardage guys in all of football.

Not saying hes amazing hes been good at punts.

  20. NEfan Says:

Dean was no great shakes today either. The front 7 played great.

  21. Rod Munch Says:

Why are you dopes angry that I asked, who? He hasn’t been around. I hope they get him back. I’ll believe it when I see it.

    Stop assuming the worst, ladies.

  22. Dooley Says:

    @Dmatt

Statistically, Darden has done better in 10 games then he did all of last season. Honestly, idk why some of you guys are so hung up on Darden and continuously bashing a 2nd year player given what he’s come from at the amateur level and what he’s being asked to do as a pro, he’s doing pretty decent.

  23. DoooshLaRue Says:

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    Skyway Super AIDS

  24. Dooley Says:

    @Rod

They’re tired of reading your comments, because your comments stink. It started with the clear comments, but it got worse when you couldn’t tell the difference between running a run out of the wildcat and QB2 Lenny passing out of the wild cat. Happened 5 plays apart, and it’s really not outside the realm of possibility seeing that NO TAPE of us doing it existed until those two plays were called. Again, I’ve called out your football IQ before, and here you are still chirping like a jackass lol

  25. Show Me the TDs Says:

Rod Muncher seems to be a bit insecure. He seems like a high school bully right out of an 80’s movie. It’s kind of sad, really.

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This should be a chance to get Brate totally healthy…….and Gage…..he will have had a month off for his hamstring. That should give us a totally healthy offense.

The defense is already healthy except Shaq……..

A great time for the bye…

  27. NEfan Says:

Dooley, not for nothing a number of things wrong with that play, one it didn’t work the first time so to try it again is very obvious there was going to be a twist to it, two, the Bucs were driving so there was no need for it, three, Brady gets hurt the season is over and lastly, Qb’s have a hard enough time throwing across their body let alone cross field. That reminded me of the double reverse for a loss with backup players BL called that killed a drive in the GB game. It’s OK to get funky once and a while but it’s all about when to call those plays. BL doesn’t seem to get that part. Munch is on the rag today.

  28. Dooley Says:

    NEfan

You think that play gets installed, let alone run or suggested to be called in the game had Brady and his ol’ass didn’t want to be split out at WR. They wanted they play to work, it didn’t, oh well it’s how the game goes and just because it can get drawn up doesn’t mean it’ll succeed. Again, it was a formation we’ve never shown and we ran two totally seperate plays. It’s not like Lenny had 2 pass attempts, the first was a stretch to the right 5 plays later it was the pass. Would I have been down to call that? No, but I’m not employees by an NFL franchise to determine any of that. Neither is anybody else who watches most of their football on a tv, tablet, or phone. That’s my point, be a fan not a know it all fanatic that just whines more than a 5 yr old at bed time.

  29. Kentucky Buc Says:

Bucs won and showed some improvement. No major injuries. It’s all good

  30. Redeemer Says:

The play only works if the DB crashes down, and leaves Brady alone. I love me some trick plays, and called for one today. Problem is, they didn’t need it, and the play wasn’t there. LF should’ve been told (maybe he was) if Brady isn’t wide open, tuck and run or throw it away. A TD in that spot puts the game out of reach for Seattle

  31. Rod Munch Says:

    Dooley – LOL!

  32. Rod Munch Says:

    DoooshLaRue – Bridge embankment.

  33. Rod Munch Says:

Show Me the TDs -OK nerd.

  34. CalBucsFan Says:

    Where was Vita Vea today?

  35. Mike C Says:

Rod, I think people just want you to stop being such Doosh.

  36. Crickett Baker Says:

I noticed the announcer said that the Seagulls were changing their cleats on the sidelines. I guess there was a lot of slipping going on. WE WON! WE WON! Enjoyable game. I still think Darden is a total dud, and I don’t care how anyone defends him. He is lousy almost every time.

  37. JayBuc Says:

Vita Vea?? I’m guessing he was doubled teamed all day

  38. Oddball Says:

    JayBuc – yes

  39. Rod Munch Says:

Mike C – Why is that? I was being nice to them. Maybe they should change their tampons.

  40. CalBucsFan Says:

Vita had no stars and was not even listed under stats. Where was he joe?

  41. Rod Munch Says:

I’ll normally bash Vita for being too lazy to get in shape, but on that soft field, I’m going to guess when you’re approaching 400 pounds, you’re digging right into that slippery mud right under the grass they painted onto the field.

  42. Rod Munch Says:

Also I love that Jeff Saturday won his game after these idiot blowhards in sports talk feigned outrage all week that the Colts didn’t recycle another head coach.

  43. firethecannons Says:

forgot about him, great, maybe he’ll be ready after the bye. glad we got Hicks back.

  44. Jmarkbuc Says:

Does Josh McDaniels get fired for losing to a guy off the street?😂😂😂

  45. ChiBuc Says:

Vea and Hicks did their job, tying up blockers to free up LBs. Their efforts showed on D. White, David, and JTS’s stat sheets. I’d much rather have those results than DTs running around with daydreams that they’re the next LT

  46. LakelandSteve Says:

The defense played well and got enough pressure to make Gino Smith a little unsure of himself at times. But SMB looked a couple times like he was lost out there. Hope Ryan gets back soon because we are a better defense when he is on the field and it also means that more than likely SMB is in the sidelines.

  47. Leopold Stotch Says:

Cannot wait for him to get back and put SMB back on the bench.

  48. NEfan Says:

Dooley, maybe next game the run a double reverse flee flicker to a proclaimed eligible receiver Wirf who then pitches to Hainsley for a 30yd loss on 2 & 20 with 1:34 left no timeouts down by 3. My point smta@@ is there is a time to make that call and there is a time NOT to. It was a stupid call and they ran 5 plays later and fooled NOBODY!!! How is that a good call. Sorry bro but you are in the minority of those that agreed with BL on that call. FYI, Brady isn’t even a legit decoy in that play.

  49. Show Me the TDs Says:

Rod Muncher. That’s funny. Exactly the movie I was thinking of. FYI, intelligent former USMC SSGT and USN LCDR. Nerd? Lol!

  50. BA’s Red Pen Says:

I love that someone who’s monicker sounds reads like an euphemism for 0ral $ex is telling people to change their tampons.

  51. NEfan Says:

FYI Dooley, you don’t have to me a member of Bowles small army of a staff to know that was a BAD call. Munch sorry man but I find your posts long and boring, you come off like you are in these players heads and they’re your bff’s. Change it up a bit you’re a tough read.

  52. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

    Show Me the TDs Says:
    “former USMC SSGT”

    OOOH-RAH!

    “… and USN LCDR.”

    Meh. 😁 🫡
