“You Can Not Afford To Lose This Game”

October 27th, 2022

Bucs must win tonight.

In the mind of screamin’ Stephen A. Smith, the Bucs’ bus is dangling over the cliff.

The bus is swaying back and forth. Rocks are falling beneath it. There are two outcomes: scamper out of the back of the bus or the bus flips over the cliff.

That is where the Bucs’ season stands, and Tom Brady’s career, SAS believes.

The BSPN personality acknowledges what the rest of us have witnessed: The Bucs are playing terrible football. Brady, to some, looks cooked, SAS said. They must beat the Crows tonight or the season is done, no excuses, SAS said. Failure is not an option.

If the Bucs win tonight, a weight will be lifted. If the Bucs lose, Brady’s career is finished; the Bucs’ season is toast and the team better start a firesale and have the Tampa Bay community brace itself for the Kyle Trask era, SAS believes.

“You can not afford to lose this game this weekend,” SAS hollered.

Sadly, Joe doesn’t think SAS is very far off. For 2 1/2 games the Bucs have looked dreadful, like the lousy Lovie Smith/ill-suited Marcus Arroyo/Stewart McClown era has resumed in some devious “Twilight Zone” episode.

If the Bucs fall to 3-5 with a loss tonight, it’s not crazy to see the Bucs returning from Munich 3-7. And at that point, the party of the last three years would be over.

With the trade deadline coming up, a fire sale might erupt promptly after the game. I”m holding onto hope – irrational and mostly unfounded – that somewhere behind the scenes last week, a major change was made involving BL’s discretion over the offense. Going with that, and also hoping Evans’ ankle is ok, maybe we stay out of the abyss.

  2. SufferingSince76 Says:

Unfortunately it appears that this team doesn’t have to heart or desire to win tonight. I hope they prove me wrong.

  3. Cobraboy Says:

Bucs lose tonight, or even win looking putrid (as in the prior seven weeks) the hubs come off, since the wheels have already come off.

My gut says the Crows dismember what’s left of this team, and players and fans just quit.

Leftwich will never even get a HC interview even with the Rooney Rule.

I never saw this coming, but here we are…

In the immortal words of Jim Mora ” Playoffs, Playoffs”
It’s most likely 1 and done if they even make it there.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  5. SlyPirate Says:

DungyDance … I’d support a fire sale for draft picks.

Keep the young core and ship off the rest. I’d be all for sending TB12 to his team of choice if they eat his salary.

  6. PSL Bob Says:

I’m in 100% agreement with SAS. Win and the season can be salvaged. Lose and it’s over. I have no clue which way it will go.

I think we’ve seen who they are. Lefty is not up to the job. We’re going to get steamrolled. Imagining this thing will turn around this year is pure delusion. I’m hoping Leftwich will be fired tomorrow morning.

    “If” ????

I think you mean “when” the Bucs fall to 3-5 tonight…

  9. Leopold Stotch Says:

First time in a long time where I honestly cannot rationalize how we can get a win tonight. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
