Saints Fall To 1-3

October 2nd, 2022

Saints are circling the drain.

And to think NBC Sports insider guru Peter King picked the slimy Saints to go 12-5 and secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Joe is having a great laugh.

The slimy Saints, hated rival of our beloved Buccaneers, are now 1-3 to start the 2022 NFL season after losing 28-25 this morning to the Vikings in England. And now they have a quarterback controversy on top of that.

New Orleans starter Jameis Winston sat out the game with what his head coach called an accumulation of injuries, and backup three-time Pro Bowler Andy Dalton came out firing and never let up.

Dalton finished the game 20-of-28 for 236 yards and a touchdown, despite Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas not playing.

The Saints come home for two homes games, next Sunday against the Seahawks and Oct. 16 versus the Bengals.

Perhaps most fun of all for Joe was watching the Saints defense implode on the Vikings’ final two drives.

New Orleans is a Marcus Mariota red zone fumble away from being 0-4.

  1. RSJCheapSeats Says:

Dalton looked a hell of a lot better than Winston.

  2. Winny Testaverde Says:

Eating dix and dubs…how delicious! A mini QB controversy brewing to boot. Lutz ain’t no joke…double doink is such a shame!

  3. SB Says:

Thanks to a double Doink that would have been good from 64 yards.
    Thank You Football gods.

  4. BucsBro Says:

    Outstanding conclusion there.

Even if we lose today, we should be on top of the division. Tied at worse, and not with the Aints.

  5. BucsBro Says:

    Doink…doink….eating that L

  6. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Love the close loss. Red is prolly gonna play for a while.

  7. alton d green Says:

i’ve been watching for about 60 yrs and Mn is way up on the list of choke masters. If their a way to lose they will find it. Towards the end of the game Cousins makes a great play and the very next play? 11 yd. sack. They could have taken a 4 pt. lead. You guessed it, they miss the extra pt. Oh well 1 pt. is as good as 100

  8. Timbucs2 Says:

Enjoyed watching Lattimore get roasted by Justin Jefferson

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Blimey!!! Who Dat?

  10. Bangkok Buc Says:

    Hahahahahah
Couldn’t have happened to a worse team and fan base.

  11. firethecannons Says:

hard to believe an NFL longtimer insider would pick Winston to win 12 games and the NFC south title Winston is wrecked now and they lost with Dalton/Hill combo Love this! What pleasure early Sunday moring!

  12. Sumosam Says:

Yep Dalton is better than Winston.

  13. Gbobucsfan Says:

Awesome to see J Jefferson beat Lattimore like a drum!!

  14. HC Grover Says:

    NOLA Stanks Stunk

  15. WillieG Says:

Winston actually sat out due to an accumulation of interceptions, not injuries. I don’t care what his coach says.

  16. #8 Says:

Happy latimore got smoked on that last vike drive.
    Suh.

  17. AtticusFlinch Says:

    BHWAHAHAHAHA!!

….and Lattimore gets beat on a go route, in front of the World, setting up the Vikings for the easy game-winning field goal. Just glorious.

  18. Oxycondoms Says:

Vikings fortunate with pass interference calls . Red rooster makes saints someone to worry about again

  19. Chant Says:

You do realize if we lose to the chiefs we are 2-2, just 1 game better than the slimy saints

  20. stpetebucfan Says:

    @Chant

And I assume you realize that one game lead over the Saints in their house means the Bucs have a huge tie breaker advantage if Bucs just hold serve in RayJay.

  21. geno711 Says:

Saints’ offensive and defensive lines almost won that game for them.

That Vikings offensive line was just crap today. Not sure what PFF grades they will receive but if it is anything over 50 it is a gift!

  22. HC Grover Says:

Beating Chiefs would give us a nice division cushion.

  23. mark2001 Says:

Think about how close this team was to 0-4. Payton knew when the time was right to jump ship.

  24. Bucs Win Says:

Lattamouth got wore out today. Nice job Justin Jefferson.

  25. PassingThru Says:

The first poster was correct: Dalton looks better out there than Jameis, but then to state the obvious they were playing Minne which has a rather average defensive backfield.

It was great seeing Latimore getting flagged repeatedly. I hope this sets a trend, he’s way too grabby.

  26. PassingThru Says:

That double doink on the FG miss at the end was classic. It’s a game of inches. A slight breeze or a 1/32″ inch difference in striking the football would have meant OT.

  27. NCBucfan Says:

Good call Booger! Now eat your Crow. Booger said the Aints would win the South. Just about as bad as his medical advice on Godwin!

  28. Redeemer Says:

It’s one game. If the Red Rifle plays for any length of time, his true colors will show. Winston is an enigma wrapped in a riddle. Million dollar arm, and a five cent head. If it’s not his health, it’s the turnovers. I didn’t have the Saints winning 12 games, but I thought the division would be competitive. Still a long way to go.

  29. Bucs Orlando Says:

And the jags are helping us with the Eagles.

If we can pull off the chiefs, we can be in contention for winning the NFC.

Really hope that Green Bay lose doesn’t bite us later on.

    Go bucs!

  30. Beeej Says:

Not really related, just saw a fascinating stat–Fournette has 1,190 carries in his career, has NEVER lost a fumble

  31. Francisco Guzman Says:

The saints are not a player in anything. Bucs need to worry about winning tonight and not looking ridiculous. Coaching has to be good as well.

  32. ElioT Says:

Love to see the Saints lose!

With that said, Bucs need to get the job done tonight.

    Zero excuses, let’s go!!!!

  33. 2022 Fire the Cannons Says:

Sean Payton was smart to get out when he did he knew the writing was on the wall

  34. PassingThru Says:

I have more faith in “one read” Red Rifle than “misread” Jameis.

  35. Mike C Says:

Oneilbuc? Where is the village idiot with his nonsense?

  36. Infomeplease Says:

Sean Payton was and is a snake!!! He bailed on his team when they needed him the most!! He was responsible for bringing in Jameis!!
As soon as FOX turned off the camera today he started smirking!!

  37. geno711 Says:

    Interesting stat Beej!

I have Fournette with 1000 regular season carries and 147 post season carries.

  38. DoooshLaRue Says:

Obviously, if you think the Red Rocket is better than JayMiss then you’re a Ray Cyst.

    Where’s webster?

  39. geno711 Says:

Tyler Johnson playing for Texans today.

It is almost like he is playing for the Bucs. No catches!

  40. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

King is a fool as an analyst. Always has been.

  41. Buczilla Says:

King is a numbnut of the highest order and saints fans are just getting a taste of the rollercoaster ride that we endured with Jameis for 5 years.

  42. TAMPA BAY DEMON™ Says:

    That’s a shame.

    LMFAO.

  43. Goatfarmer Says:

    Bwaaahaaaajahajaaaa.

Bloneilsuk assured everyone that the Saints develop QBs. His lover is gonna warm the bench again.

    Bwaaahaaaahahajahaaaaa.

  44. Howard Cosell Says:

    Dearest Saints Fans,
Congratulations on stealing Jameis Winston away from the Bucs!

    Your Truly,
    Howard

  45. AbucAway Says:

Where’s O’Neilbuc? When you really really want him around. Bwaahahaha
    Buh bye Jamies.

  46. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Finger lickin’ good!

  47. Cobraboy Says:

Does anyone actually think Sean Peyton wanted to go to war with ATM?

On another note, is there a college QB worth tanking for?

  48. Howard Cosell Says:

    @Cobraboy

Howard has gone on record as stating that Peytons departure was suspicious in it’s timing and Howard firmly believes that Peyton was warned about the atm by Arians.
Saints ownership wanted the atm. Peyton saw the righting on the wasll and decided to leave the burning house and take a better job with more control later down the road.

  49. Howard Cosell Says:

    *writing

  50. Redeemer Says:

Jack, couldn’t agree more about The Peter King. Acts like he’s God’s gift to football analysis, and is often made to look like the fool he is. He’s also one of the dumbass HOF voters that’ve kept Rodney Harrison and Barber out.

  51. Anon Says:

Don’t look now but Falcons fans now think they can beat the Bucs after beating the likes of Geno Smith and Jacobi Brissett.

  52. Bucsfanman Says:

The only people that would be surprised by Jay-Miss getting the hook are JW “groupies”.
7 years of pro film and 2 years of college. Expecting different results is insane.
Injury or not he’s a 50/50 guy, a.k.a. back-up at best. Which, isn’t that bad of a gig anyways!

  53. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Laughing all the way to the bank. But not the playoffs!

  54. Rod Munch Says:

I’m watching the Pats vs Packers game, and it’s amazing, on 1st down they’re running OFF TACKLE. Apparently there’s nothing in the rules that you need to run it up the gut on 1st down. Someone let Leftwich know.

  55. Rod Munch Says:

It’s remarkable how many of you psychopaths are obsessed with Winston. He didn’t even play today, and the psycho-ex’s are still gossiping about him talking about how much they hate him. You ladies need to change your tampons and move on already.

  56. Natron Says:

Peter King is a Biden Boy

  57. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I’ll change my tampon Rod if you take the Jay Miss buttplug out from your behind!

  58. MadMax Says:

    How lovely lol

  59. Joe in Michigan Says:

Yeah, Peter King is wrong about a lot of things.

  60. CrackWise Says:

Dont look now, but the real #1 overall pick Mariota LOOKS GOOD in the ATL.

Also, That guy in Carolina, DAMM.

Could be a 3 way at the end of the day.

BUT it feels so good KNOWING the Aints wont be a part of it!!!

  61. Tye Says:

Dennis Allen HC and Jameis Winston QB…..
Never believed the Saints would have a winning season with that horrible combo!

  62. Cobraboy Says:

@Rod: it’s hardly psycho to say “I am so f@<k!n9 glad ATM is somebody else's problem and the residents of One Hammy Central Palace."

In fact, it gives many long-suffering fans some joy.

  63. Goatfarmer Says:

    Back to something important.

Does anyone know Donovan Smith’s status for tonight? He will give Tom and Lenny confidence and performance.

  64. Rod Munch Says:

Cobraboy – The fact you think Ryan Smith and Chris Conte aren’t why the Bucs were winning, but the top 5 offense, says a lot.

In any case, give Joe credit, he knows that showing a picture of Winston riles up the nutjobs and gets some clicks. I literally have nothing but respect for that. The name of the game is getting views – and whipping up a mob is one way to do it. Also, sports talk is just gossip for men, so there’s no better way to inflame hens like bringing up their ex.

For me, I just enjoy insulting people and showing how superior I am, so my role is fulfilled.

  65. CrackWise Says:

    @Goatfarmer

    He is “Questionable”

However, Walton? (I think that was his name) looks BETTER IMHO

  66. Rod Munch Says:

Goatfarmer – we’ll know about 90 mins before the game when they announce who is deactive. I’d expect Smith to be active based on how he’s been practicing, but it’s a long season, and the Saints aren’t going to push the Bucs to have to win 12 or 13 games, so the Bucs could be cautious with everyone, including Smith. It wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. After this game the Bucs get a 3 game stretch where they should win all three, so you’d be 5-2, even if you lose tonight, and that puts you in pretty good shape.

Just something to keep in mind.

  67. DungyDance Says:

NFL network twittering that Godwin, Gage, and Jones all expected to start tonight. Fingers crossed….and let’s be careful with them!

  68. Defense Rules Says:

Crackwise .. I’m up in Atlanta this week so watched the Falcons – Browns game this PM. Falcons defense is circumspect, but they looked real good running the ball. Mariota was 7-for-19 on the game (139 yds) with 1 INT, so I wouldn’t give him too much credit for the win. But when you run 35 out of 55 plays (63.6%) and gain 202 rushing yards (5.8 YPC average) that pretty much sets your identity.

Kinda suspect that when we play the Falcons next week, the Falcons game plan will be quite obvious. They really don’t have much choice. Our run defense better toughen up.

  69. Oneilbuc Says:

Rob. These people treat Jameis has if he’s done something personal to them that effects their lives. And yes it’s easy to control the emotions of grown men on this site. And yes the whole time Jameis was the quarterback we had a top 5 offense every year. But we had a 32 ranked defense at the same time. And you right about Joe I’ve said the same thing all he have to do is show a picture of Jameis and all of their emotional hate comes out. And the crazy part about it is Joe didn’t mention that Jameis was hurt and that’s why he didn’t play today. But to these emotional people on this site Joe knows he don’t have to even mention that part. But if Brady don’t throw for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns even if we win their going to be crying get rid of BL . They care more about Brady stats than the bucs winning. And that’s why I call them fake fans Bonzia.

  70. Cobraboy Says:

    Rod says:

Cobraboy – The fact you think Ryan Smith and Chris Conte aren’t why the Bucs were winning, but the top 5 offense, says a lot.

The FACT you have to put words into my mouth—words I have never, ever once uttered in thought, word or post— proves how feckless your argument is.

Don’t put words into my mouth Rod.

    Ever Again.

In fact, a real man would apologize for such actions. Failure to do so puts you in the same “category” as ASTM tongue-swapper oneill. Do you *really* want that?

    You

  71. Goatfarmer Says:

Would like to see a Lenny pancake on Chris Jones.

  72. CrackWise Says:

    Defense Rules

Nice, I do like visiting the ATL.

My observation is that MM is a TRUE game manager AND the Falcons tend to be in NEARLY every game for the past several years.

SOOOO, if MM delivers consistent performances and they get over the late game collapse HEX. They could be a team that “surprises”. Same with Carolina and Baker. I am just not ready to write those teams off like I am the Sants

  73. CrackWise Says:

    Oneilbuc

He has done something PERSONAL to us. He STOLE 5 years worth of season TICKET MONEY.

Get a grip (and I dont mean on JW dic)

  74. CrackWise Says:

Even a NUBIE fan of this sport KNOWS. IF the OFFENSE turns the ball over it HURTs the Defense.

Hello, “YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK”!

  75. Deano Says:

Karen just got picked for 6

  76. DungyDance Says:

I love watching Kaaron throw pick 6’s. It was probably the turf’s fault again.

  77. CrackWise Says:

    Deano

Your ruined it for me!!! LOL, BUT it was still AMAZING

    Lets go!!!

  78. rrsrq Says:

I do not like Lattimore but I respect his game. That was a BS PI call on him whe the receiver grabbed his helmet to get position, but I do not mind the aints losing

  79. Goatfarmer Says:

Bloneilsuk with another 1000 word post defending and apologizing for his fantasy. Hilarious. That girl needs to realize JaMiss is married now.

  80. Goatfarmer Says:

Also we need the midget QB for the Cardinals to play a strong second half and not let Matt Drool and Baker Minefield beat him.

  81. Irishmist Says:

Antonio Brown seems to be a fan of Crack Wise.

  82. Francisco Guzman Says:

Watching the packers game irritates me. Amazing how they have been able to move the ball with some scheme and coaching. Last week the bucs lost that game due to crappy coaching and just offensive scheming. It tells you that you can have talent but crappy coaching can even lose you a game .

  83. CrackWise Says:

    Irishmist

You say that like its a bad thing. GRANTED, I am not a fan of his. BUT I don’t mind one of the GREATS supporting me.

I am flattered, thanks for the compliment? Irishmist

  84. Oneilbuc Says:

Gooffarmer. I see you like to do the gay talk so I don’t have no more conversation for you. I’m not a gay man and I don’t indulge in those kind of conversation because I’m a straight man and I don’t do the gay stuff . So go find you a gay man you can talk to because you love those type of conversation.

  85. Goatfarmer Says:

Methinks Bloneilsuk doth object too much!

It’s ok, girl, get a tissue, smell a flower and snuggle under your JaMiss blanket.

  86. CrackWise Says:

    Francisco Guzman

What game are you watching? They are playing NE and have 7 points AFTER for the game to this point.

  87. CrackWise Says:

AFTER Half and to this point

  88. CrackWise Says:

    Oneilbuc

That is great to hear. Now we dont have to hear you defend that female? crotch grabber anymore.

  89. CrackWise Says:

I KNEW I should not have called out the Pack for only having 7 points against NE. Oh Well

  90. Bucsfanman Says:

Oneil- To be a fanatic, fan for short, is inherently emotional.
YOU just happen to be a really, REALLY big fan of Jameis. Fan of the Bucs, I question.

  91. DoooshLaRue Says:

    OhKneel,

Gooffarmer. I see you like to do the gay talk so I don’t have no more conversation for you.

Yeah I just looked up same–was a tweet from a sport commentator, not sure where he got 1190. DOES look like he lost one in 2019 tho, the only one of his career

  94. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard think Rod Munch is just another sock-puppet contrarian.
I mean, look at his screen name LOL.
If that doesn’t give you a hint then nothing will.

  95. DungyDance Says:

Where was the back judge in the Packers-Patriots game when we needed him last week? Play clock was at 00 for 3 whole seconds. It reset to 40 abs they still let the Pats play go for a TD

  96. CrackWise Says:

    Howard Cosell

LMAO, you nailed it. WAIT, DOPE!!!

    Either way, I am confused!!!

  97. Howard Cosell Says:

    Dearest Rod Munch,
Howard deeply apologizes for his thoughtless and mean-spirited (but real-world) takes on Mr Winston. Howard wishes you and Mr Winston nothing but the best in your future endeavors whether as an NFL back-up QB or a JBF contrarian troll.

    Deepest Regards,
    Howard

  100. Goatfarmer Says:

DungyDance – Goodell loves him some Bill Belichoad so the Puds get benefit of doubt. Which in this case is fine. Beat the fudgers.

  101. PassingThru Says:

We want the Pats to win. While GB owns the tie breaker, any GB loss is a benefit and blessing.

  102. PassingThru Says:

And there’s Rodgers shaking his head at his WRs.

  103. Rod Munch Says:

Howard Cosell – The fact you think Ryan Smith and Chris Conte were NFL Champions only held back by a top 5 offense, that’s on you. My issue is with boring people who put zero thought into what they post.

Again, I was totally for signing Brady, you don’t pass up on getting the GOAT. But you guys never got over Mike Glennon getting the boot, and cheered the idea of getting Teddy Bridgewater, so it’s not like your guys point of view means much.

To be anti-that, to say having the worst defense and worst kicking game in the NFL was the issue, not the top 5 offense, that is hardly contrarian.

  104. Rod Munch Says:

What’s the inactives for tonight, anyone got the list yet?

  105. Rod Munch Says:

    Nevermind, here’s the info:

    BUCCANEERS INACTIVES

    DL Akiem Hicks
    CB Zyon McCollum
    WR Scotty Miller
    WR Breshad Perriman
    TE Kyle Rudolph
    QB Kyle Trask

That means Godwin, Jones and Smith are all active! WOW!

  106. CrackWise Says:

    Rod Munch

I am thinking you’re gonna be Inactive at this rate.

ONE MORE for Dic Munch you fine BAT WINGED bartender.

  109. CrackWise Says:

  110. Goatfarmer Says:

  115. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

DardOn has pics of Darcy or the boys in uncompromising positions. He stinks. NE has a chance against GB in OT. Beautiful!

  116. JimmyJack Says:

I didnt know how to root for that Saints game. The loss is nice but I was kinda hoping Dalton won and put up 30 points so they could have a full blown QB controversy……….which is basically the kiss of death in the NFL.

  117. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

The beauty of having JW as your QB is that you can tank without pretending.

  118. Oneilbuc Says:

  119. Goatfarmer Says:
