NFC South Still In Reach

October 31st, 2022

Team mentality.

Yeah, Joe knows Bucs fans are frustrated if not depressed.

It almost looks at times like this team has quit or tuned out its coaches. How else to explain so many problems?

Dan Graziano of BSPN believes the Bucs have too much talent not to still win the NFC South. The Bucs are only out of first place with nine games to play.

However, Graziano does not like the Bucs’ mentality. He is spooked by what he is hearing from Bucs players, which makes him wonder where their souls are.

I think they will [the NFC South], because I don’t know who else can. But I don’t like anything about what’s going on down there right now. The defense has been disappointing, and the offense is brutally one-dimensional behind a beaten-up line that Tom Brady clearly doesn’t trust. [The] conversation would be completely different if Mike Evans had just caught that long, would-be touchdown pass [against the Stinking Panthers], but what REALLY alarmed me is what Evans said after the game. He said, “I saw the light go out of us” after the drop. I mean, that can’t happen. Not in the first quarter for a team with these kinds of aspirations and veteran leadership.

That Evans comment spooked Joe, too, and Joe wondered aloud how motivated the Bucs are to win the division or even make the playoffs.

Did Ryan Jensen’s injury in training camp really screw with their heads that badly? Are they that bummed out about Gronk throwing in the towel?

PLayoffs, are you talking about playoffs ? we can’t even win a game against freaking lifeless teams. and you are talking about playoffs! come on man!

  2. TAMPA BAY DEMON™ Says:

Yep, we can still talk division & playoffs.
There is no reason this team can’t win a few games to get turned around.

They just need to get out of their funk, and they DO NEED to pick up someone via trade to help out the roster a little bit right now.

  3. Curse of Gruden Says:

Playoffs? Would the Bucs be trading Leftwich to Atlanta?

  4. Lt. Dan Says:

Lt. Dan said it right pn this here website…”after that drop, it all changed.”

  5. Lamarcus Says:

Or Brady skipping practices and then screams at everyone for not doing their job on TV…demoralizing the entire team. They are millennial humans and this has to effect them. Brady is not all in ..so be the team

  6. BucsFanSince76 Says:

Bucs CAN WIN this division with 8 wins , BUT ONLY IF Jason Licht gets Suh back and JC Tretter to shore up these abysmal defensive and offensive lines. SO ARE YOU GOING TO DO YOUR FREAKING JOB JASON LICHT????????????

  7. Lakeland Steve Says:

On what Evans said, the players see the offensive line play every day in practice. They know if they are capable of controlling the line of scrimmage in a real game. We don’t see it until the game itself. Those players are human, they know what a championship team looks like and so do we. This years team specifically the offensive and defensive lines are not good. So maybe the light did go out when Evans dropped that pass.

  8. Kentucky Buc Says:

It’s a moot point now but I still say Gronk would’ve come back if they had offered what he is worth. What’s the point if your basically asking him to play for free. How much is he worth now ? Same with Suh. JAG money is an insult to these guys.

  9. Cobraboy Says:

    Great.

Bucs still in contention for the league’s tallest midget.

  10. Cobraboy Says:

I’d rather the team compete for a Top-3 pick.

  11. John Sinclear Says:

The team doesn’t trust the head coach – the head coach doesn’t trust the team. No leadership and no believers following. Cap’n Tom to Navigator – “Plot us a course to the tranquil waters of Buccaneer Cove”

  12. BA’s Red Pen Says:

The team clearly misses Gronk. Fire Leftwhich.

  13. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

The bucs are one of the worst teams in the NFL currently, pretty funny watching the games yesterday and how terrible this bucs offense and defense is compared to the rest of the league; its comical.. Leftwich seems to be on a low level varsity competence with his play calling , scheme and design. Is Leftwich having family issues as well, because this is a joke. The Defense and the Offense are both last in the NFL

  14. View from 132 Says:

The window appears to have closed. Bucs vs Rams is a season ending game for one of them.

  15. ClwJB Says:

Don’t insult varsity coaches by lumping them in with BL!!!

His simplistic, everyone in the stadium knows what’s coming play calling is a joke to the league and only works when you are clearly superior in talent which we are not

We might beat the crappy Rams, but Pete Carroll is going to thrash these foolish coaches.

We have been getting outcoached week after week

  16. Jack Sparrow Says:

A lot of coaches are just dreaming to have a team like the Bucs. Fire Bowles and Leftwich now !

  17. ChattBucs Fan Says:

    No Way.

  18. MadMax Says:

Unless at least one coach is fired, BL, i dont even see them trying anymore. Its hard to play for people you dont respect one bit.

  19. ChattBucsFan Says:

    No way.

  20. Deeez NATZ Says:

Toilet bowl butthole will NOT win another game this year…He just does not have the intelligence or leadership to lead this team..Baby vaccine Brandy got her wish when she ran BA out of town….Get what you deserve vaccine girl brandy!

  21. m Says:

guaranteed loss coming sunday, don’t watch if you don’t want your sunday ruined, they are really bad if they can’t beat teams they should match up against how will they best the rams? no chance 0

  22. Deeez NATZ Says:

Tampon Brandy,Bruce Arians won that super bowl not you…

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We absolutely must get this offense rolling…Our defense can’t be asked to stay on the field as much.

There is no question that this is a coaching problem…..in particular with Leftwich.

    “Let’s go Byron”

  24. SB~LV Says:

    Yeah!
    4 Wild Card smack down
BTW Wildcard weekend is NOT the Playoffs

  25. Listnfrmafar Says:

To all you Brady haters, LaMarcus, beanbag, Oneilsuckyall, oralbuc etc. Brady is NOW #1 passing leader in the league . He may go to #2 Burrows is in 4th and he would need 170 yds to pass him. So those that believe he isn’t engaged are simply ignorant!!! He is NOT the problem!

  26. BucBallin Says:

Time to scuttle the ship. We are going nowhere fast. Trade Brady to the Dolphins and White to anyone that wants him. Let Bowels and Suckwich continue to tank for a high draft pick. Then fire them on the field after game 17. Rebuild time is upon us.

  27. Mybucsdontbucaround813 Says:

    Bucs fans are jokes….SMH

  28. Craig Says:

I think we are on a death spiral to the doormat. Bad coaching can do that for you.

I hate to see Brady wasted like this, but we are stuck with it. I hope Trask has picked up a bunch of good stuff, he will need it next season, maybe even the end of this season.

  29. Texas Bucs Fan Says:

Remember one thing. Everything starts at the top and flows downhill!! Leadership is lacking in all phases!!

  30. Listnfrmafar Says:

@Texas so what you’re saying is, Where the head goes the arse follows!

  31. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I agree that Brady has some kind of nerve missing practice, and then yelling at his offensive line!
This next game is a winnable game for us. The Rams are not the same team, and now with Cooper Cupp hurt, they will be even worse.
A win against them will go a very long way toward saving our season.
I have a funny feeling we beat them, as revenge for knocking us out of the playoffs.

  32. HC Grover Says:

Agree Joe. As long as it is in reach no changes will occur. Oh well.

  33. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

The team that wins the NFC south will probably be under 500.

  34. Mike Johnson Says:

Until this team can put together 2 or 3 consecutive wins, I will not be optimistic. I still think we are Hit for this year. Now prove me wrong Bucs. I have no faith in the coaches..Or players.

  35. Cobraboy Says:

OR, equally as likely, the Rams right *their* boat with a butt-thumping of the Bucs with Donald, Kupp, et al, having career games.

Once the wheels come off, they don’t magically get glued back on.

This is a thoroughly poor team, O and D, top to bottom.

The convergence of “old,” poor motivation, and terrible coaching is what the Bucs 2022 look like.

Just when you think it can’t get worse…it does.

  36. Tye Says:

these next 2 weekends are must win games:

Falcons vs Chargers… Chargers have not been the success many expected.. Playing opponents at their level…. Traveling to Atlanta could very well go home with a lose!

Rams vs Bucs… Rams struggling with the Super Bowl hangover traveling to Tampa is a winnable game for the Bucs WITH BETTER COACHING!

If the Falcons jump to 5-4 with another winnable game against the panthers next up making them 6-4 and the Bucs fall to 3-6 against the Rams with Seahawks up next and another lose dropping them to 3-7, strange at it seems the Falcons could plausibly run away with the crown early…

I predict the Saints and Panthers lose more than win the rest of this season!

  37. A Says:

I’ll focus on just winning one more game….let’s go from there…

Tyler Lockett fumbled inside his own 5yrd line and dropped a TD pass. The Seahawks found a way to set that aside and win. We can’t be that weak minded..

    Go Bucs!

  38. BradentuckeyBuc Says:

Or, like in this case, melting at the wrong time.

The only “gel” I see is the squishy stuff between the ears of the coaches and players.

  40. captivajim Says:

the Rams will be a tell all game for us .. the bucs should be motivated beyond belief to stomp on the rams .. if we cannot pull our s..t together to beat the rams –the dixie chix win the division

  41. Bojim Says:

I don’t see us winning the division. I hope beyond hope that we can turn it around but…..

  42. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If we can’t go all the way, there is no point.

Now, if we suddenly had a healthy team? Sure.

  43. brooks Says:

We’re playing for the draft we’re playing for the draft we may win six games that’s what I’m hoping for get us a real quarterback

  44. richbucsfan Says:

Playoffs! Playoffs?! Where have we heard that before? Look, it happening this season. There are serious locker room issues. Where are you local sports reporters? How is it that we know about it and you don’t or at least you won’t report it?
