Sean Payton Says He Was Jealous Of Bruce Arians

September 22nd, 2022

Bucco Bruce Arians

Retired (for now) slimy Saints head coach Sean Payton was glued to Sunday’s Bucs game.

No surprise there after Payton spent 15 years coaching the Saints and left with one of the best winning percentages in the modern football era.

Watching was painful, Payton told The Herd on FS1. He yearned to be there and was envious of Bucco Bruce Arians patrolling the sidelines and hollering at officials and players.

“The first day after I’ve retired that I had FOMO,” Payton said, using the fear-of-missing-out acronym.

“I honestly was missing out. It bothered me that I wasn’t a part of that. I saw Bruce [Arians] on the sidelines; bless his heart. I’m thinking, ‘B.A.’s close to the action. … Yesterday was the day where I just was jealous of everyone else that was there.”

As for the Mike Evans-Marshon Lattimore fight and the ensuing melee, Payton made it clear that he doesn’t believe the fight had anything to do with the Bucs playing better in the fourth quarter because the scrum got them fired up.

Per Payton, both teams were jacked up from the opening whistle and he acknowledged how nasty and intense the feelings have been between the two teams — for years.

Joe’s just happy to hear that Payton was enduring football suffering. He deserves it. It should help prepare him for his next job in Charlotte or Dallas.

Well hopefully pucker lips is more jealous after we host another Lombardi

  2. lambchop Says:

He’s going to be the next Cowgirls coach. I don’t see him re-entering the NFC South division with the Panthers because he’s tight with Mickey Loomis.

  3. Gbobucsfan Says:

Him and Brees are having very sub par careers on TV. It’s almost like no one likes them outside of NO.

  4. 2022 Year of the GOAT RETURN Says:

glad him and brees werent there ….. they are a tough duo to beat

  5. pancake block Says:

nice to hear coach Zoolander jealous

  6. pancake block Says:

glad to hear coach Zoolander was jealous

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Eat you heart out Sean, you sorry ba$tard!!!

  8. D-Rome Says:

He won’t last on TV. He loves coaching and the environment too much. It would be funny to me that out of all this some weird hybrid (but unofficial) position will be created by organizations so people like Arians and Payton can be on the sidelines and help out without having to do all the work that goes into preparing for a team all week.

  9. Listnfrmafar Says:

Hahaha, I just spit out my coffee, jealous of Bruce Arians. I read the head line and nearly pissed my pants. He has OWNED BA the overrated senile Woody Hayes wannabe. His actions do NOT help the Bucs chances of winning. Joe, please remove this clown(s) face from your site. The more attention he gets the more disruption he causes. On another note, am I the only one that would salivate over spending a long weekend on the nude beach with MJ Costa? Man she can make herself look HOT!!!

  10. Dooley Says:

I can see why, all those regular season wins from 2010 to 2020 and the Saints did absolutely NOTHING in the postseason. Arians came in and won a SB in his 2nd year after being hired with a team that was a basement dweller from about 2008-2019 LMAO! Cry me a river Sean

  11. geno711 Says:

BA the greatest coach in Bucs history.

I love that Listnfrmafar has BA derangement syndrome.

Huge MJ Acosta-Ruiz fan. More curves than anyone else on NFL network.

  12. NCBucfan Says:

List, that is the only thing I agree with you on. MJ Costa, good gawd!! But with your hate of BA, GTFOH!!

  13. Hodad Says:

    One damn good coach.

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

All those in denial. The NFL station had a segment on BA’s involvement in Sundays Evan’s debacle. The showed the video again and CLEAR AS DAY, BA was the instigator. It actually looks like Brady was defending him. Congrats all you BA lovers, he may have just lost you the GB game. Wake up, Brady got Bucs to SB in 2020, BA and his lackadaisical coaching cost the Bucs a second in 2021.

  15. An Erection for Sacks Says:

    lol@”bless his heart”

That’s the southern way of saying: “I’m better than you.”

  16. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

He is slimy as they come and will fit right in down in Jerry world with those jay brones down in dallas

  17. Bojim Says:

He’s a pretty damn good coach. Glad he landed a good gig. Also keeps him away from us. 😉

  18. Jonny Says:

Don’t want him anywhere in the NFC South. He is one of the few great coaches, other ones being BB, Andy Reid, Tomlin, Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan.

  19. Pewter Warrior 813 Says:

Losing Payton as their playcaller and coach is the Aints biggest loss this offseason. When fans and analyst thought it was no big deal he retired people who know the game or played the game laughed.

  20. D-Rome Says:

I love that Listnfrmafar has BA derangement syndrome

He’s from Massachusetts. All my friends back in MA feel the same way about BA for some reason. There must be some blowhard on WEEI or The Sports Hub that fills their heads with nonsense when they talk to half a dozen so-called “Brady Insiders” that probably haven’t actually talked to Tom Brady in many years (i.e. Scott Zolak).

  21. Listnfrmafar Says:

D-Rome, go watch the video. DENIAL I say DENIAL. The Mass. sports media respect good coaching, always praising McVay, Payton, Shanahan, Reid. They also recognize the posers.

  22. Listnfrmafar Says:

Don’t get upset I forgot Tomlin as a good one as well.

  23. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

I bet he had FOMO induced jealousy in February of 2021 too.

  24. Will Says:

@List THANK YOU for mentioning MJ Acosta that is a BEAUTIFUL woman. Joe always talking about the stat geek Cynthia Ferlund who I’m not going to lie has an amazing body BUT has a face to protect it. On your BA takes that’s another story the guy came in here got rid of Jameis and had enough in place that it enticed Brady to come here. This franchise has been losing for soo long that he’ll go down as our greatest coach unless Todd continues the winning for years and gets another Lombardi but if so we’ll still have BA to thank. I will say that I do believe BA needs to not be on the sidelines I don’t think he can keep his mouth shut and it’ll cost us down the road.

  25. Winny Testaverde Says:

ListenFromMomsCar’s ( or minivan’s ) hate for BA is only eclipsed by his creepy date rapey vibe of MJ Acosta ( he wants to accost her on an island it sounds like ). Yikes…alert her security squad immediately if not sooner.

  26. Goatfarmer Says:

Will —“ Cynthia Ferlund who I’m not going to lie has an amazing body BUT has a face to protect it.”

ROTFL! As old as I am, I’d not it heard it put so eloquently as you did. Thanks for spewing my coffee for me.

And yes, time for BA to be back upstairs, he can have all the bourbon he wants and can’t get himself or his team in trouble.

  27. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Poor Butthole Lips Payton……
    😭😭

  28. Will Says:

Goat- Sorry about the coffee glad I could give you one you’d never heard. Lol

  29. Ron Potter Says:

Not sure why he couldn’t have been there. Maybe the Saints organization doesn’t like the circumstances in how he left?

  30. Listnfrmafar Says:

Whinnytesticles@ didn’t mean to offend you. I was only pointing out how I appreciate her beauty and her outfits are extremely self-promoting. What’s wrong with wondering what’s under her jaw dropping attire.

  31. '79 Defense Says:

Twenty years ago when the NFC South was named and began, I thought it really sucked for us to be taken out the Central with all the old teams (Packers, Lions, Bears, Vikings..) and stuck with crap teams with no history like Carolina.

At least we now have a proper rivalry with New Orleans.

  32. Winny Testaverde Says:

ListenFromMomsCar/Minivan…didn’t offend me a bit. Scared me though…I picture you with a chloroform soaked rag and a roll of duct tape. Wing nuts/loose cannons like you are a menace to society and the JBF comment section to name a few.

  33. Listnfrmafar Says:

Whipatesticle@ I hope your imagination stems from Netflix series, if not now I’m a little worried. That was pretty explicit!

  34. Rod Munch Says:

Why doesn’t anyone ask Payton how he feels about the Bucs breaking his leg, and if he holds a grudge.

  35. JimbobBucfan Says:

Hey, lambchop. I truly look forward to the day the Buccaneers snatch the title of “America’s Team” from those cowgirls. (Yes, I know we are going to have to find a QB and build on a winning legacy in the next, say, seven years or so AFTER the departure of the GOAT.)

Meanwhile, back to this current season. Go Bucs!

P.S. I actually lived in the DFW metroplex for a time. That was many moons ago, y’all.
