Nick Wright: Bucs Are Not A 12-Win Team

September 6th, 2022

Nick Wright

FOX Sports personality Nick Wright believes he sees a frozen lead-pipe lock when he looks at season-win totals.

The Bucs, per BetMGM, have a season-win total of 11.5. And the outspoken Wright is loading up on the under, as he said on FOXSports.com.

“That is a crazy-high number,” Wright said. “Given [Tom] Brady’s disposition, given the injuries on the offensive line, given the uncertainty of their new head coach, the fact Tampa [as an 11.5 win total] is crazy.

“Now part of that is because everyone knows Atlanta is going to stink. They are correct on that. Everyone believes Carolina is going to be awful. I’m not sure they are right on that. They could be right on that, I’m not sure they will be right on that. And New Orleans, people are ambivalent on. But New Orleans the last couple of years has done what no one else has done and that’s kick Brady’s @ss.

“So I don’t believe the division is going to be quite as easy as people believe it is going to be.”

Wright also is banking on Brady trend he believes holds from his days playing for the Belicheats: Brady was a slow starter, so Wright predicts the Bucs to start this season 1-3.

A 1-3 start would have Wright believing there is no way the Bucs only lose two or fewer games of their remaining 13.

One of the Joes is very, very frightened about the first four games and will almost breathe a sigh of relief if the Bucs come out 2-2.

  1. D-Rome Says:

The Bucs have the best WR1 – WR4 group in the history of the NFL and Tom Brady is throwing to that group. The defense is improved and yet somehow these clowns think we’re going to be looking up at the Saints in the division. A Saints team lead by Jay-Miss who is coming off of a major knee injury.

  2. Thisisouryear!! Says:

D-Rome. That is exactly how I feel. With Brady, give the offensive line 6 weeks to gel. If we stay healthy, we are the best team in the nfl.

  3. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Nick Wrong is not very bright and yells some of the dumbest things on tv; he has a strong dislike for Tahmmy as welll.

  4. Marine Buc Says:

I believe our defense will be better than last years – especially if we don’t lose all our starting DBs to injury… If TB12 stays healthy @ 11/12 wins sounds about right to me.

  5. Coran Says:

This guy just hates Brady. Any take that involves Brady will always be negative towards him. He’s an idiot. Only once did he have an honest moment, after the bucs beat the chiefs, and he broke down TB12s career into 3 HOF careers. Every other time he has always gone against Tom. I’m excited to watch this guy lose his money. Ppl are sleeping on this defence and underestimating Tom’s experience with worse O-lines. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be tricky, but the bucs should go at least 3-1 in the first 4 (Dallas should be fairly easy, and greenbay, a game I’m trying to get to, should be a win too as they don’t have receivers and our pass rush should be great with this line etc.). Yes, depth on the O-line should be added but I think licht is just waiting for the right deal. No need to rush things just yet and overpay.

    GO BUCS!

  6. Chris Says:

Every one acts like these other teams are in mid-season form. Every other team is right where the Bucs are, going to try and find their identity out of the gate and with Brady and company , I’ll put my money on them to do it first. 3-1 to start the season!!!. GO BUCS!!!

  7. Bucs Win Says:

This guy in no way looks like a serial killer.

  8. Infomeplease Says:

    More fake news from FOX!!

  9. Infomeplease Says:

I too would be content with a 2-2 start. Then it all comes together!

  10. George Says:

I listened carefully to the Prediction Podcast from JoeBucsFan.com. These guys are experts that have access to The Bucs locker room and they are picking the Bucs 11 and 10 wins.

They also said Hainsey won’t play more then 8 games .

My feeling is our gaping hole in the offensive line is going to create massive problems for Brady . If they have to use stop gap measures like putting a blocking fullback for extra protection that’s one less receiver .

With the offensive line we have now we are looking at 6-11. If Licht can bring in some serviceable vets , we are looking more like 13-4

  11. Wild Bill Says:

So many variables this season. I would not be surprised at a 3/1 or a 1/3 start. Hoping for 3/1.

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

DROME @ the last two seasons the Bucs.had the best receiving core. They have NO TE and the verdict is still out on Jones and Gage. That being said Brady’s average regular season record over 23 years is 12.5 wins per season. 11 wins minimum. Bucs do well against running QB’s. David Andrew’s of the Patriots would of never started if Stork didn’t get hurt.

  13. Casual Observer Says:

I agree with DRome. Bucs will be very strong.

  14. FortMyersDave Says:

A fool and his money are soon parted. Big Dust is right about Nick Wrong, he is the kind of guy you bet against when he throws his predictions out there.

  15. David Says:

I think the Packers and Cowboys are the toughest two games to start. I think they are ready for the Saints this year and will dominate them. As for Kansas City… I’m not sure they make the playoffs. I think they are fighting the Raiders for third in their division. They have the worst defense in their division and the Bucs should be able to take advantage of that. Plus their offense is not as good.

Basically 2-2 should be no problem, personally I think they go 3-1.
Then they have 3 victories in a row before heading into Ravens & Rams

  16. ZZBUC Says:

I have more respect what my 2 years old daughter has to say than this joker…..

  17. Steven007 Says:

Not only is JW coming off an injury, he’s missing is All pro left tackle. The slant king is returning after nearly 2 years of inactivity and no longer has Drew Brees to throw him perfect 8 yd timing routes. Kamara shouldn’t even be in there and may not be later in the season. The defense lost its leader in the secondary and one of the replacement safeties is also in trouble. And oh yeah, they’re very good head coach is no longer there. So if you do a positional one by one with us against them, the coaches are a wash. Our quarterback is not coming back from a significant injury. Our defense is almost certainly better particularly in the back seven. Our receivers are at least as good if not improved. The only negative changes may be at tight end and of course on the offensive line. Not insignificant, but all in all I think we’re in better shape compared to last year than the saints are compared to last year.

  18. Christos Says:

All thes TV personas and experts always say things, predictions and they are always right. When the time comes and they are wrong (most of the times) they expertly explain to you why they were not wrong and the reasons the thing they said not happened.
Like in the Superbowl 55 for example, where the Chiefs will blow out the Bucs and Tampa Bay dont have a chance. When the Chiefs took a good beat down the experts included Wright were all explaining how they were not wrong but the KC OL was so bad that they could not do anything. The same OL that they knew was going to play yet they predicted a big win for the Chiefs.
These shows although they do have some entertaining moments they re getting worse. Because if you not say crazy stuff nobody will listen to you.
And yes the Bucs are not a 12 win team right now like everyone else. Who knows what every team will be. Except of the experts

  19. MonkeyMan Says:

Hope this scumbag really does take the under and loses everything.

I’m so tired of these clown blowhards that are so desperate for attention. What a loser this pos is.

    Bucs start 4-0.

And to this wanna be noticed piece of trash…..GFY

  20. Allen Lofton Says:

Nick Wright is anything but Right – his bias and egotism is his biggest downfall.

  21. D-Rome Says:

I’d like to also add that Nick Wright is a notorious Brady and Bucs hater. I used Google’s advance search to read some of the things he said in 2020 on the Bucs.

The over-and-under for Bucs wins is at 10. To me, unfortunately for Tom Brady fans and for Bucs fans, it’s far more likely they underachieve and fall short of that than overachieve. Because, what would “overachieve” mean? Win the division when you are in the same division as the Saints?

Win a couple of playoff games and get to the conference championship game? … I don’t see it for Tampa.

  22. Goatfarmer Says:

I gotta admit, Nick looks better with the long hair and the beard. His “clean look” makes him look like the pencil neck that girls would beat the snot out of in school.

  23. Craig Says:

The Bucs have a new coach, but not a new scheme. The turnover of coaches is negligible.

If the Bucs go 2-0 to start they will go on a roll.

Right now it is about how much s*** Brady is carrying around with him. The personnel changes are no different than every other team getting ready for the season.

The Bucs have, at least, had drafted continuity into the trenches. I have high hopes for that.

  24. Rayjay1122 Says:

    2 questions.

    1. How much does TB12 pay this knucklehead to give him extra motivational tools?

    2. How many sips does it take to get to the bottom of a Bromosa?

I take a Bromosa more seriously than this clown’s opinions.

  25. Anon Says:

This douchebag went 0-12 betting against the Bucs, so maybe he should shut the hell up.

  26. Anon Says:

Why are we allowing George to still comment, his takes are abysmal and are always WRONG.

  27. Dooley Says:

That picture of Nick Wright is how Aaron Rodgers must’ve felt after that first sip of ayahuasca hit lol dude is legit, just a carbon copy of Max Kellerman from upstate NY lol

  28. Joe Says:

This douchebag went 0-12 betting against the Bucs, so maybe he should shut the hell up.

    AH… HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  29. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Who gives a $hit what this guy thinks or anybody for that matter……teams have to play their games…..we will see what happens….week by week…..

Everybody has an opinion but nobody’s matter.

  30. BucBoy Says:

Who gives a crap what these journalism majors think?

  31. Winny Testaverde Says:

This poor man’s Jim Rome ( destitute ) has been sore at the Bucs since he all but guaranteed “his” Chiefs a repeat championship in SB 55. That said…the Bucs may struggle to put away the Saints…they’ve added some key pieces I hate to admit.

  32. Jack Sparrow Says:

I think Nick is just doing a reverse psychology. He says s2pid stuff just to challenge the Bucs.

  33. Bucschamp Says:

He’s right ! Bucs is not a 12 win team.

We are a 14 win team!

  34. Defense Rules Says:

Nick Wrong is Wright … Bucs probably won’t win 12 games. Even if we go 2-2 to start the season, we’d still have 13 games left, and going 9-4 would be a decent accomplishment given how tough our schedule is this year. That’d have us winning 70% of our games (roughly 2 out of every 3) after the first 4 and put us at 11-6. That would surely be good enough to make the playoffs and likely good enough to win the NFC South.

  35. Cobraboy Says:

Don’t forget this Wright chucklehead proclaimed the Bucs and Brady would miss the playoffs in 2020.

How did that “bold prediction” play out?

  36. ocala Says:

How many times is this guy going to loose betting against Tom Brady before he changes his picks.

Bucs are the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Another guy just looking for attention.

  37. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    So…..the Bucs will win

    14,13,12,11,10,9

The will win the South….lose the south…..go to the SB, won’t go.

After all the predictions the Bucs are exactly where they started..

    O-O

  38. mark2001 Says:

Isn’t this the A clown that said Brady was washed up about 5 years ago?

  39. Buccsfanchad Says:

Every time I read something that this idiot has said, I feel my brain cells commiting suicide 1 by 1. He makes Max Kellerman look like the most influential sports writer of all time!

  40. alton green Says:

As a 60 year fan of the NFL, let me interject a little wisdom. I have ALWAYS said that Americans absolutely love controversy. Nick knows this. By saying something stupid he knows that it will get people talking about him. He has nothing left to say so he throws an Aaron Rogers “God please let someone catch my hail mary pass in the endzone” LOL There is an African American commentator I think on ESPN that has made a career of being a Brady hater. One of my favorite sayings is “a drowning man will reach for anything” Think about that. if you are drowning and somone throws you the head of a rattlesnake, you will grab it right. This is what Nick and the haters do. They use the old analogy “if you throw enough crap against the wall some of it’s bound to stick” right? It’s a chicken%$^# marketing technique

  41. alton green Says:

mar2001. “No that was Max Kellerman” hahahahaha

  42. SOEbuc be Says:

Come on Joe. It’s close enough to the season you can find better inputs than Wright. Guys a 🤡

  43. Buc1987 Says:

    12-5.

  44. T REX Says:

    Best wr corps in history?

    buwahahahahaha

    D ine is weaker

    o line is weaker

Lots of medicinal maryjane on here

  45. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

Is Nick Wright, Nick Cage’s brother?

    Because he doesn’t know football.

    Bucs 13-4.

  46. D-Rome Says:

    T-Rex,

Name a better wide receiver group at all spots in the history of the NFL. I won’t hold my breath. Sure, you have top heavy tandems (i.e. Moss and Carter) but after that the drop off is steep.

  47. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

Ha! He looks like Cousin Balki in that pic.

  48. View from 132 Says:

I have this guy’s first album I think. He talks about football?

  49. Hodad Says:

We’ll find out who’s right soon enough. I think after we rag doll the cowgirls, and pick six Jameis everyone will know.

  50. geno711 Says:

    12 and 5.

  51. Buc king Says:

    Fuuuuuccccccccccckkkkkkkkk that guy frfr

  52. T REX Says:

last year’s wr corp was better…Gronk, Godwin, Evans and AB

    Wayne and Harrison

    Carter and Moss

You are acting like Jones is in his prime…he sucks

    Gage? LOL

I bet you are young…I could go back to the old Chargers as well…Chandler, Joiner and Winslow.

    GTFO

  53. Alvafan Says:

Wright was wrong on all his takes about the Bucs in 2020. But I wouldn’t put money on the over as it stands right now.

  54. Steve Gaudreau Says:

Dudes hated Brady for years and he’s also been wrong for many years. Bahahahahahaha! Him and Mr. Fall off a cliff both. They might be relatives or losers in law but either way this dude is one salty man. Don’t be salty Nick.

  55. RobSinger Says:

Nick W. only sees things thru one lens: the one that’s seen his idol & hero Mahomes lose every big game he’s ever played against Brady. The guys bleeds KC red. He wants nothing but misery for any team TB12 is on.

  56. brooks Says:

    Agree maybe 11 wins
