Never Doubt Tom Brady

September 23rd, 2022

Fighting to spark sputtering offense.

Yesterday, Tom Brady said something that got Joe’s attention.

The leader and the champion that Brady is, that’s really unparalleled in team sports because the guy has an unreal drive and leaves absolutely nothing to chance.

Joe is convinced Brady has hatched a method for blowing his nose that somehow leaves him with an ounce of energy more to be spent on a football field. This guy thinks of everything.

So Brady referenced in his own words the famous Vince Lombardi quote, that players and teams chase perfection knowing it will never be reached but excellence will be caught along the way.

And Brady’s “higher level” comment in his answer to chasing perfection is what resonated with Joe.

“Yeah, always,” Brady said of striving to be perfect. “There’s a part of it for all of us that you want to be the best you can be, really not just for yourself but for everyone around you, for the whole team.

“Everyone’s counting on you to be a great player. We’ve got to reach a higher level on offense. That’s part of what our responsibility is.”

Far more often than not, when Brady puts his mind to something, results come. Look at the last playoff game, when in the second half Brady put the Bucs on his back and fought his arse off and nearly pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history.

If Brady is this locked in on improving, there is a great chance fanss see a better offense on Sunday.

Injuries are a concerne, but I have no doubts that the offense will improve.

  2. MonkeyMan Says:

Dude has 7 super bowl rings on display in the middle east….think about that!! I mean come on, he’s the goat.

    Never ever count brady out.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he throws 4 touchdowns this weekend and 300+ yards.

  3. David Says:

Is Gage 100% from his hamstring yet?
They really need him and Perriman and Miller. It would be nice if Darden put it in the game. I did not mind giving him another chance this year but they are really missing Tyler Johnson right now

  4. ocala Says:

Wise commentary Joe. Tom is the best of all time for a reason.

  5. rrsrq Says:

I thought this was a post about Hollerin’ Stephen A. Smith “if anybody deserves the benefit of the doubt with a mixed bag of players, it’s Tom Brady”

  6. #8 Says:

As someone who sneezes a lot, I can attest there is room to perfect one’s nose-blowing game.

    Suh.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I don’t think there’s an opinion I agree with more than this one…..

  8. CrackWise Says:

Brady never gets a chance to put the team on HIS BACK in the Rams game IF NOT FOR……

    Drum ROLL Please…….

    SUH!!!

  9. CrackWise Says:

That said, Nice article Joe. Thanks! This is super encouraging to hear heading into this weekend.

As a THINKING man myself, on par with the greats of all time, if I do say so myself.

Brady is about to SHRED the Packers D. IF for nothing else, just cause he knows, just like everyone else, who the real MVP of the last two seasons was.

This game is personal on so many levels.

  10. Jack Sparrow Says:

In Brady I Trust. He is the GOAT and the BOAT. Been there, done that kind of a guy. It’s a long gruelling season and I’m sure he is just pacing himself. It’s a marathon not a spint. He may not reach 5000 yards this season but his main goal is reaching the SB no longer perosnal stats.

  11. Pewter Warrior 813 Says:

Brady can be great but if you are relying on stone hands Scotty and Darden to beat some good CBs that GB has you are in trouble. Need Injury prone Godwin and Julio to STAY healthy.

If this team can’t get healthy they are wasting Brady’s last year

  12. Beeej Says:

I keep hearing ENDLESS crap that Brady has all this personal stuff going on, portion online and it distracts him from the game. I cannot imagine a human being less able to be distracted than this dude

  13. DBS Says:

Well if you really want to play it that way. When you really need him to get to the QB in the Rams game who did not get there?
    SUH!!!

  14. Winny Testaverde Says:

Hard to believe Tyler Johnson & Grayson ( who I like…went from doink off the helmet to legitimate receiver ) would come in real handy by Week 3…but here we are. Jones flashed but his body has fully betrayed him…he can’t be counted on for much of anything the rest of the way. Getting Godwin back so soon as a feel good moment seems to have backfired as well. Brady still has the touch, accuracy and arm. Feels like he throwing to Freddy Martino & Robb Thomas out there currently.

  15. MadMax Says:

^ I dont know why they ley go of TJ….i was pissed when it happened because he was solid as a backup and knew this day would come.

I guess if OBJ wants to sign team friendly, and we’re not going after Suh or Gronk, then get OBJ if possible.

  16. ClwJB Says:

Watch Cole catch 12 balls Sunday….TB will ride him and Lenny all the way to a victory

  17. CrackWise Says:

    @DBS

Play it what way? There is only one way Brady ever gets a chance in the Rams game. We needed a turnover and to the dismay of some. SUH was the one who made that happen. AND it was a spectacular play nonetheless.

Additionally, SUH was not ever IN HIS CAREER a pass rushing specialist. If your gonna hang that hat on someone in THAT game. You have the entire D to pick from other than SUH.

Yall are missing the point. We are not looking for a playmaker. We are looking for stability from someone KNOWN for making plays WHEN IT MATTERS most.

I was all for Hicks replacing Suh. BUT anyone thinking Hicks is going to come back from that injury and do ANYTHING is jaded themselves.

I don’t want to Suh to take snaps away from the young guns. I want him to take away the pressure that is now squarely on their shoulders. This is NOT the same situation that we have had on the OL. Thats all.

  18. darengibo Says:

Tyler Johnson hasn’t even seen the field for Houston and Grayson is still a FA.. does that say anything or is TJ not yet familiar with the offense?

  19. CrackWise Says:

    @Winny Testaverde

Someone pointed out the other day that Grayson is not eligible to come back till after week 8 due to an apparent injury settlement. Not sure if that is true or not BUT if it is, that is most likely why he was not brought back as of yet.

As far as TJ goes. Hard to believe he is not on Hustons game day roster considering how great he is and all. Don’t get me wrong, I liked “THE CATCH” from him in the playoffs. Just like I liked “THE CATCH” from Miller.

But neither are the future IMHO. With our top 3 set for the next 3 years. BEST to shuffle the bottom 3 now and see what we can find. OTHERWISE, after next year we will be drafting WRs with our top few picks.

  20. Goatfarmer Says:

TJ would be a more effective slot option than anyone else because he knows the offense, blocks like a beast and can high point a football. The reason he’s not playing for the Texans yet is, (1.) he’s new to the offense, and (2.) Lovie Smith. Say no more.

  21. Dooley Says:

Hindsight being 20/20, what good is a 5th/6th WR if he doesn’t contribute ANYTHING on special teams? Because that seems to be the main reason Tyler Johnson was allowed to walk, and why a guy like Perriman who not only plays special teams, but can also line up as the Z/Y/X/F WR was retained over keeping Tyler Johnson even after being injured for a big chunk of training camp.

  22. Winny Testaverde Says:

@ Crackwise…all fair points…and The Evans One Game Time Out makes the cupboard seem all that much more bare. Miller being thrust into limited action exposes his limitations…and Darden seems like the Buc brass is trying to justify the 4th round pick ( with a trade up no less ). Feels like Brady’s final season in NE currently…and yet 2-0 on the road vs formidable opponents.

  23. Ash Says:

@Dooley Perriman’s speed I would imagine was also a huge factor. TJ is so slow he has trouble creating separation which makes almost every throw to him pretty difficult.

  24. Ash Says:

I also would think if Tom saw something in TJ he would still be on this roster but he got cut.

  25. Goatfarmer Says:

If the DardOn is ever to have a breakout game – ever – Sunday will be it.

If he doesn’t make a play – I mean even one – on Sunday, it would seem like Licht will admit his mistake and send the little guy to the CFL.

  26. Dooley Says:

    @Ash

Also plays a part. TJ’s time being here I don’t even think he’s put the numbers up in this system that BP had in 2019 alone. Granted we’ve cut BP twice the past few seasons, I think the 3rd time bringing him in the staff decided to keep him considering he’s done and is capable of doing more than Tyler Johnson. I liked TJ or the prospect of him carving out a niche here, but understand the reasons why he may have been let go.

  27. DBS Says:

    @ CrackWise
SUH did not get home on the final drive. People want him for one reason. Not just his name. Probably besides price and over all performance why he is not here. We needed him to show up then and he did not. So he can be just as much Hero or failure . Same as Brady was that day. Unless this franchise is desperate he is not coming back.

  28. Bobby M. Says:

One more poor performance and you’ll see Brady go hurry up offense and start calling his own plays

  29. CrackWise Says:

Good talk gentlemen, let me add some COLE to this fire!

If TJ was still here, would have we had the BEES Knees at WR, once everyone was healthy.

Thats not my best work, I guess my point is. IF we had the best 4 WRs ever to be assembled.

What does having Cole mean IF and WHEN? we get everyone back HEALTHY!!!

  30. DBS Says:

If Cole performs highly he stays. Someone else goes.

  31. CrackWise Says:

    @DBS

I feel dirty trying to reason with you. I hope you’re not trying to grind your axe on me.

If your blaming SUH for giving up the game on the final drive. Which is just DUMB on your part.

Then you’re also admitting he is the ONLY reason that we were in that situation to begin with.

Regardless of your point of view at this point. You have failed to chop down the tree and you are currently paddling up “SUE-Falls”. <– Look it up!

  32. Mike C Says:

    L F G !!!

  33. CrackWise Says:

    @DBS

I agree, Cole will force the team to put Darden on the practice Squad OR outright release/trade Miller.

So, I agree with the Farmer of Goats as well. Darden needs to flash HUGELY this game if he wants to stay on the game day roster.

They already showed their hand with Miller by not having him active week 1.

  34. Infomeplease Says:

This Bucs defense has answers for GB!!! The WRs need to step up and do their jobs!!!! TB12 will do his part!!! LFG!!!!

  35. Infomeplease Says:

P S. The TEs need to place well too!! That’s what they get paid to do!!!

  36. Infomeplease Says:

    L F G!!!!

  37. SB~LV Says:

I watched the video on the Bucs YouTube channel
I also noticed some references that could have double meaning, first to the Bucs and the second meaning to Geisel

  38. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

We are not a run team – we are a pass offense. Need to get back to the same type of offense as under BA.

  39. orlbucfan Says:

So, Suh is the reason the Bucs almost beat the Rams. Me thinks the rest of the Bucs Defense would have something to say about that!

  40. CrackWise Says:

    @orlbucfan

Yeah, SUH is the one who caused the fumble that gave us a chance to tie it late in the game.

So yeah, you can’t blame him for being the reason for why the Rams scored that last drive either.

  41. Onetrickpony Says:

    Darden has pictures on somebody

  42. Redeemer Says:

Never count Brady out, if he has help. He can’t do it by himself anymore. Good teams adapt to the situation. I think the bucs have done a good job of playing complementary football these two games. Of course Brady wants to throw every down, he just realizes that they can’t right now. Once they get a little healthier, I think they’ll be fine. But the offense won’t look like it did last year, even with full health. You don’t lose two hall of famers, (Gronk, AB) and run the same offense.

  43. SB~LV Says:

Darden is going to take in to the house!

  44. Biff Barker Says:

Not much chatter about the rookie White. I think he was made for this game.

    Woo Hoo.

Guess I’ll wear a Gaines Adams jersey because Jane Tryon might fall into the QB and get credit for a sack too!

  46. Listnfrmafar Says:

What this tells me is Brady will do his best, if the team buys in, can you say victory!

  47. Aaron Says:

Don’t doubt Shady brady he is a cheater we know he can pull some moves lol

  48. AbucAway Says:

    Tom is a warrior.

    Suh is also

“you don’t rise to the occasion, you fall to your practice level” Greek philosopher, I forget his name (look up the quote if you want verification, I only remember the words)… If you’re not practicing you’re not going to rise to the occasion … You notice Brady was out there Wednesday didn’t you!!
