“It’s The Least Of Our Concerns”

August 11th, 2022

GM Jason Licht

Tom Brady is on a 10-day hiatus. General manager Jason Licht addressed it.

“Of course, we were going to let him do what he needs to do. He’s focused as ever. He’ll come back even more focused. It’s the least of our concerns,” Licht told WDAE Radio after today’s practice, emphasizing that Brady’s absence was pre-planned.

Licht scoffed/laughed at the suggestion that Brady might not be ready for Week 1.

He also added that he thought the Bucs ran the ball well today against the Dolphins and that Kyle Trask and Blaine Gabbert are about to get very valuable work.

Joe is monitoring Brady’s social media feeds closely to see if The Goat gives a reason for this odd leave.

    Thanks Joe

  2. Alexander Nascimento Says:

Smells like a vacation to me
    Go Bucs

  3. SausageKingOfChicago Says:

Brady can go to the Moon if he likes. Just be back by week 1.

  4. NeverGIVEup Says:

    “Come back more focused”.

Alabama nailed it in the other thread. He scheduled vacation with the fam after he retired. Probably did it during training camp to prove to the family he was retiring for real.

Then when he changed his mind, JL and company had to sign off on him missing this time as a part of the deal for him to come back. LOL

So much funner to speculate from a positive perspective.

  5. RPK Says:

DRAMA and I have a feeling it’s just getting started. Going to be a wild year.

  6. Listnfrmafar Says:

Am I the only one that knows he’s making a movie and has a role in it?

  7. NeverGIVEup Says:

I personally like my theory, however. This is part of the plan to get the team and fan base off of the teets of the GOAT.

Next year it won’t be a culture shock when he is no longer around. Trask will have been a part of Training Camp WITHOUT being in Brady’s shadow.

This is a win win win for Coaches, Players and Fans

Besides, we are talking about Practice, not a game, NOT A GAME but PRACTICE!!!

  8. #99 Says:

Such negative fans.. Not one of you Sally’s know what the real reason is but you have to shoot your mouths off with negativity..

  9. Lesko_Brandon Says:

It’s ok to take vacation now rather than take a 10-day vacation in the middle of the season or in the playoffs….. 🙂 GOBUCS!!!

  10. mark2001 Says:

So that leaves us with the real question, Jason. What ARE the greatest of your concerns right now? As if he would answer that one.

  11. AbucAway Says:

That’s right Mark2001. It certainly begs the question

  12. Allbuccedup Says:

The first four games 3 playoff teams and at new orleans I would be a little concerned. But Tom runs the show his hands are tied.

  13. Mike pizzoli Says:

Tom Brady would NEVER take a vacation at this time of year, something else is going on, I hope everything is alright in Tom’s personal life. He will be more than ready and prepared for week 1

  14. Joshua porter Says:

No way in hell he gives the real reason on why he’s not at camp.

  15. captivajim Says:

” Eighty For Brady” is name of the movie..

  16. Joshua porter Says:

Hey Joe’s have you ever seen this before with any team?

  17. MadMax Says:

    All good….leave him alone…its simple really….

  18. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

A goat does what a goat wants! Go Bucs!

  19. RCH Says:

Joe if the man takes a crap I want to know about it!

  20. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Looks like Griffin might get a few more snaps. All of the RG fanboys can officially get excited.

  21. D-Rok Says:

I commented on Brady’s first presser that his face looked rather thin/gaunt. To join in the speculation spectacle, I wonder if he looked gaunt because his mom’s cancer is back, and he’s really worried about it? Some people do look different when they are worried or stressed.

My second thought involves wondering if the facial appearance was on purpose for the purported movie he’s in?

Perhaps one day we will know…but until then, I’m not too worried about his absence from a football perspective. Brady has done this a very long time and is the GOAT.

  22. Buc4evr Says:

Devin White tweeted that on the inside they know what is going on and that he is praying for Brady. So maybe a family issue?

  23. IrishTony Says:

I honestly doubt most of the folks on this site are fans. I’ve been through total crap with this team for years from Leeman Bennett to Perkins to Sciano and all the HS QBs including Jamies who I had high hopes for. Brady essentially turns this franchise around single handedly and now due to personal reasons has to take time off? Big f’ing deal he deserves it! It’s obviously important and coaches/management agreed to it. So why the clamor from the supposed fan base. If this were 1997 no one would even give a sh##. Everything’s under the microscope and everyone (including supposed fans) have an opinion. Bowles was definitive about Brady’s return date (after Titans game) so who’s to question Brady’s commitment to this team that helped “us” get a second super bowl.

  24. Wild Bill Says:

So Irish T, if you honestly doubt we are fans I honestly doubt you know Jack Shmit. You may need a translator to help you out. Most of the guys on here bleed football 24/7. If that bothers you don’t let the door hit you in the ash tray.

  25. #99 Says:

Irish Tony speaks the truth.. Idiots like wild bill cry and bitch about everything..
Tom brought respect and winning back to this franchise.. He doesn’t owe the fans spit!

  26. BucsfanFred Says:

Let Brady do what he has to do 101% faith here.

  27. Bucsfan13 Says:

@Irish Tony. Well said! Some of these so-called fans have gotten arrogant and entitled. They totally forgot about the lost decade. Brady turned this franchise around. He was the ultimate culture changer that was needed for this incompetent franchise. There was a graphic yesterday that showed us with the worst winning record in NFL history. Some of these fans seem to forget how bad this franchise has been. It’s also the most insecure fan base, outside of the insufferable Saints. Gage, Evans, Godwin, and Julio are out. He wouldn’t be able to work out any chemistry with them anyway. The time Brady put in was productive. He and Gage have clicked, and Julio has also caught on quickly.

If heaven forbid that Ira took a personal leave, I would hope to God that people wouldn’t engage in speculation as to why Ira had to leave. Ira is the Sage and a total professional, and deserves our respect. Ira’s a human and so is Brady. Let’s respect Brady’s privacy, which is he entitled to.

  28. ChiBuc Says:

Who the eff are any of you to say who is or is not a fan. Just because you worship the entitled, does not entitle you to cast judgement on others’ opinions. A blog full of sycophants is not very entertaining and tbh it gets boring to constantly be in the church of Brady.

Love TB as a buc, because I am a fan, but that entitled golden boy is constantly surrounded by controversy from inflategate to present and you get on your knees to worship his every fart…pathetic. Somehow everyone forgets how sick and tired we all got seeing the Patriots in the superbowl.

TB gets way more than he deserves and is never held accountable (just ask the dolphins). Enough with this idea that you are standing up for this poor moral man. He deserves every bit of scrutiny anyone wants to give to this very public, very controversial, mass marketing machine… he or his family do not seem to be suffering one bit from it. Yet you misguidedly defend poor Tommy like he’s a lost child at Disney World while insulting fellow bloggers for floating theories just as unfounded as yours.

  29. Oneilbuc Says:

Chibuc. I agree 👍🏽 with bro they hate me on here because I don’t worship Brady either. They call me a Brady hater just because I give credit to the whole team when we win games . And if Brady has a bad game I’m probably the only one that would say Brady played bad while they blame everyone else but him when we lose. But when we win it’s all Brady and nothing else. That’s what I hate about the bucs fans on this site.
