Happy Birthday Tom Brady!

August 3rd, 2022

Forty-five years young.

Alright, the first week of training camp 2022 hasn’t exactly been the greatest for Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

First, Brady lost his center, Ryan Jensen, possibly for the year with a knee injury in the second practice of training camp. In underwear football no less.

Then, Brady was exposed for trying to weasel his way out of New England in 2019 to the arch-rival Dolphins.

And it was also learned Brady was speaking to the Dolphins as the Bucs were in the thick of the chase to repeat as Super Bowl champs — and then Brady the nerve to call players and lure them back out of free agency, perhaps at a lesser price.

Through all of this, Joe hasn’t lost sight of how Brady has changed our lives for the better. Simply put, if Brady didn’t come here in 2020, the Bucs might still be a team praying to win nine games and just hoping to make a wild card.

Instead, the Bucs are an elite NFL team because of Brady.

So while the NFL confirmed Brady soiled his cape with both the Belicheats and the Bucs, it still doesn’t change the fact that Brady flipped this Bucs franchise, maybe for years and years to come, for the better.

So, happy 45th birthday today, Tom! Joe thanks you for coming to Tampa and enriching our lives.

Now please offer a helping hand to Robert Hainsey, huh?

Happy Birthday Tom!! You’re the Greatest

  2. Steven007 Says:

Possibly the most passive aggressive happy birthday greeting I’ve ever read.

  3. SB Says:

LOL Great cake that LF had made for Tom!

  4. Rod Munch Says:

I did not get the impression that Brady was trying to weasel out of New England in 2019, considering they said in-season and postseason, it sounds like it was the Dolphins trying to get a jump on the 2020 Free Agency period. I can’t really see a situation where the Dolphins would have got Brady mid-season, that simply would never have happened under any situation, certainly not a divisional foe.

  5. Rod Munch Says:

Also, I can’t take seriously adult men who get their feelings hurt over a player winning a SB, being the best ever QB in team history, unretiring to come back and play, and people talking about how he’s not ‘loyal’ enough. Just embarrassing.

I’ll take a team full of unloyal Tom Brady’s any day of the week. Meanwhile you can have your team full of very loyal losers who go 3-14.

  6. Bobojango Says:

If a job call anyone here and says hey we’ll give you a raise and ownership in the company and y’all don’t listen to the offer then y’all dumb. NFL a business if TB12 blows out his shoulder and can’t throw anymore I guarantee you the Buccaneers ain’t signing him to an extension, Owners treat NFL like a business but players can’t?

  7. sasquatch Says:

Turncoat Tom shouldn’t be talking to other NFL franchises, period, while under contract with us. Doesn’t matter what his role would be. But, it doesn’t affect his preparation and will to win, so I can forgive.

  8. unbelievable Says:

    Happy Birthday, Turncoat Tommy!

Lol, passive aggressive indeed. It is curious that he thought Miami would have been a better spot… whatever. I will always be grateful for 2020. Make it happen again and you can go wherever the F you want next season Tommy Boy.

    Let’s fkn go!

  10. Goatfarmer Says:

No doubt Geezella was pushing him hard to get the equity gig with the Dolphins.

Whatever. It collapsed. Slap on the wrist for the Phins, nothing for TB. Geezella is the big loser.

This may explain why Gronk said enuff. He probably smelled the Phins scandal and said it’s not worth it, integrity doesn’t mean squat to anyone anymore.

  11. captivajim Says:

brady bought property in Indian Creek ,off miami coast ,for 17Mil in late 2020.

construction was begun in 2021. he knew (& so did Gronk) what his plan was to go to the fins..Gissel wants the posh miami lifestyle-not tampa.

i wonder how Jensen feels ; having come back to Bucs after Brady called him.
we’ll all see how things go in the locker room .

  12. steele Says:

Brady’s commitment and (yes) loyalty to his team and teammates on the field, in the locker room, and in games is unquestioned—when it’s time to play football.

But in both offseasons when retirement has either a possibility or real (temporarily), and from a long-term/life perspective of a middle-aged guy on the verge of retirement, looking to set up his post-play senior citizen life, was it wrong to entertain offers, including those from “enemy” teams?

In the mind of fans, and the few rare diehard professionals who choose to tie themselves to one team, to the end and beyond, yes, it’s wrong to even think about it.

In the mind of near-retirement Tom Brady, no, it’s not wrong at all. He was and is able to separate these things. Being under contract is a conceptual thing, when the likelihood of breaking that contract was and is imminent. No team is an enemy team, when you’re no longer playing. Business opportunities that perpetuate your personal brand are your friends.

The GOAT has never been a total boy scout. A football hero, but not a boy scout. Happy birthday to him.

  13. Bird Says:

His home is in south florida where he will love out his days. Near his best bud David beckham. His other close friend is an executive for the dolphins. He turned 45. He is always looking at future endeavors like the fox gig. Of course , he wants to own a team you know maybe in his hometown. The whole he was going to play there too? Who knows. Doubt it but just to be fair …maybe. We will soon find out i guess. But who cares. But the dolphins wanted for 2020 and he came here over miami. He was under contract w bucs and he knew it.

We thought we had a 43 44 45 year old player for two years and we wondered initially if he could even do it..at this age. And now we got him for 3 . He is a hired gun period that made the bucs relevant. The best to ever do it. He was not distracted last year . He should have won MVP. He will break all the buc passing records in just 3 years. He took the bucs from worst to first. Literally.

And some fans got their feelings hurt? And jump to conclusions cause lets be honest. We have some of the worst clueless fans. Someone literally said just last night , brady will leave the team now in disgrace 😂. And the locker room will be rocked 😂. Players will turn on him 😂 Bucs have a chance to win 2 super bowls in 3 years. What other player coming here, which brought all the other stars to tampa , could do that.

    Thanks GOAT. Happy bday!

Man we need to get some Brain MRIs for some of the posters on this site.

  14. Bird Says:

    Live out his days

  15. Hodad Says:

Jensen did what was best for him, and his family. He made it clear when he resigned that him, and his family loved living in Tampa, and it would be hard to uproot them to a new location for a few extra bucks that would be eaten up in a state that taxes your income. Saying Brady betrayed anyone is rediculous. Players should be loyal to the same clubs that would trade, or cut them at the drop of a hat? Dry your eyes you big cry babies, and Joe your turn coat name calling is beneath you. Joe of all people should know this is a big boy business.

  16. Bird Says:

    Hodad

    Well said

  17. Anonymous Says:

What does it gain a man …..

  18. Listnfrmafar Says:

Hodad, you forgot clubs that allow a player to extend their contract for cap space then use it against them and keep them hostage on a team he no longer wanted to play for under a part-time HC. In 2019 the Patriots offered him $14MM for one season, all Brady wanted was $25MM a season fir 2 years, same amount Brees was making. Can’t blame him for exploring his options Belichick didn’t want him and didn’t want any player making more than him.Belichick makes $25MM a year. Why would a Bucs fan want to chase him out of town, isn’t it hot in Tampa if you go back to wearing paper bags over your heads during Bucs games?

  19. Kentucky Buc Says:

A bunch of hypocrites on here. Any one of us would listen to someone wanting to give us more money for what we do. There’s the black and white of it. Loyalty is a one way street in the NFL. Brady found that out the hard way.

  20. Public Announcer 57 Says:

Yesterday’s news and punishment dished out by the NFL gave all the Brady haters, even huge closet haters like Joe (one of the Joe’s at least), the perfect excuse to spit new venom TB12’s way. Once a hater, always a hater.
TB12 is capable of separating his present pursuits from future endeavors.

  21. Kentucky Buc Says:

Interesting timing on the league releasing this. Right after the Watson slap on the wrist. Just a coincidence folks. Nothing to see here.

  22. SteveK Says:

    Happy birthday, Goat!

Brady is “The Great GOTSBE” (the greatest of the super bowl era).

He is not a player he just crushes a lot. Go gettem, Tom, and nobody cares that you are wheeling and dealing to do what’s best for you and your family. Thank you for the greatest 3 year stretch in Buccaneer history! Rock on brother, bring back another boat parade!

  23. tampabuscsbro Says:

Well I’m glad the comment section on here is echoing my sentiments on the subject.

It’s ridiculous to call the man a turncoat with all he has done and is still doing for us. When it’s time to play football (do your job) is commitment is unyielding.

The writers of this website are giving off the vibe that we should be loyal to our companies we work for that can lay us off without notice and pay at nearly any second.

  24. Captain Oblivious Says:

Come on man!! All of the NFL players are mercenaries and either go where they are drafted or to the team that offers the best value. I suspect that TB12 wants to win a SB with a 3rd team, something nobody else has ever done. He has already accomplished everything in the NFL so why not that? Besides, he has a house being built in Miami so that is obviously his landing spot after football.

Whew, the Dolphins meddling incident doesn’t even move the needle on my scandal meter. Why shouldn’t a player be able to talk to other teams when the coaches can do so during the playoffs?

Oh, and if you’re reading this then Happy Birthday TB12!!!

  25. Captain Oblivious Says:

Oh, I forgot to mention that the biggest draw for TB12 to play for the Dolphins is the opportunity to play golf regularly with his good friend President Trump:)

  26. Goatfarmer Says:

Steele – on the money. I was butthurt for a minute. I’m over it.

    Suh.

    Tretter.

  27. MadMax Says:

The GOAT has options and just like many who are smart, you always keep options open…theres nothing wrong with it. He knew his best chance would be to come back to us, dolphins dont have what we have!!!! Its a no brainer!!!

Enjoy your day Tom, all good 🙂

  28. Nick Says:

    Great article. Happy Birthday TB!!!

  29. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

As far as us “hypocrites” and to the ones that say “just business”, consider this…..as your steady girlfriend was committed to you during the last year, she was secretly negotiating to be with a richer boyfriend next year.

  30. Listnfrmafar Says:

Morgue, sounds like you’re speaking from experience. Once again like your scenario, it happens ALL the time. Bucs fans, consider yourselves lucky, last time Brady was accused of cheating he won a SB after a 4 game suspension. More fuel for his fire.

  31. AbucAway Says:

Hey Morgus, whether you are a man or a woman, you have to have one in the kitty.

  32. MadMax Says:

^ more power to her….i’ll find another one lol, maybe even before she makes a move…a smarter hotter one….works both ways

but heres the difference with this whole situation, im not sticking my pecker into my employer in throws of ecstasy, sleeping with them afterwards and then waking up next to them and making breakfast for them!

  33. D-Rok Says:

    Happy Birthday, TB12!

I don’t worry about his discussions with other teams. Whether that was technically wrong or not doesn’t matter because actions speak louder than words, and his actions show he is and wants to be a Buc.

  34. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Listnfrmafar…..hey, some people are ok with a mate that prefers a different partner. You.

  35. Buc1987 Says:

    Happy Birthday to the GOAT.

May you throw as many TD’s as your age.

  36. Coran Says:

@morgusthemagnificent ur take is sad and dumb. Like the other said, sure sounds like you’re speaking from experience. But also, maybe your girl is looking elsewhere because you apparently think romantic relationships are transactional and should be undertaken with financial profit as the primary motivation…. not great.
This is a business, it’s about what’s doing best for yourself. Tom gave the pats 2 decades of loyalty, constant pay cuts, doing everything to help them and bill tried to push him out the door. You seriously blame him for learning from that lesson that the NFL execs and front offices don’t give a damn about loyalty? He came to tampa, cheaper than he could have, restructured, resigned, did everything to help win, and you’re whining about loyalty. Tom learned that “loyalty” in the business world is a scam word to make you do more for less. You aren’t dating Tom (though it really sounds like the people you are “dating” cost money, as does watching the games so I can see how you might be confused) so no, he doesn’t have to be loyal. You already got more than you could’ve ever dreamed from him, and can still keep raking it in. Get out of your feels, it’s embarrassing.

Happy birthday to the greatest winner in football!

    =============

If Kurt Warner could go to the hall of fame for 5 or 6 good to great seasons with 1 ring in 3 Super Bowl appearances, then Brady could have 3 hall of fame careers. After 2022 season, Brady will have completed 21 seasons as a starters, excluding his 2000 rookie season and 2008 injured season. Each career spans 7 seasons.

1st HoF career, 2001-2007: 3 rings in 4 SB with 2007 record setting MVP season.

    2nd HoF career, 2009-2015: 1 ring in 2 SBs, 1 MVP in 2010, physical & statistical prime.

3rd HoF career, 2016-2022: 3 rings in 4 SBs, 1 MVP in 2017, astounding autumnal years with greatest SB comeback & winning SBs with 2 teams.

And he’s still not done! You lucky Bucs fans get to have him for 3 years!!

PS, Brady played more games in regular seasons & postseasons and won more games and more rings as a Patriot than his two idols, Joe Montana and Steve Young, combined as 49ers. Joe was drafted in 1979 and Steve retired in 1999, a 21 season timespan! Let that sink in!

  38. Listnfrmafar Says:

Morgue, we all make mistake but some like you have yet to learn your lesson.

  39. Crickett Baker Says:

Happy Birthday! I loved it when they asked a player what would he give Tom for his birthday, since he had everything, and the player said, “I guess I’ll give him a big hug”.
No one even knows what his phone conversations with the Dolphins were like. He could have been saying “no, no, and no”. Whatever, he is still committed to us and I, for one, won’t speculate on his commitment to the Bucs because I believe it is strong.
