Mike Edwards Still Feels The Pain

July 13th, 2022

Mike Edwards and the Bucs preparing to redeem themselves.

You know what has really impressed Joe from dealings with many returning Bucs starters? These guys are downright p!ssed off about how they lost to the Rams in the playoffs.

Especially the defensive players.

Bucs safety Mike Edwards is among them. When Joe spoke to Edwards, Joe wondered if there is additional pressure on the Bucs to go all the way because this is very likely Tom Brady’s last season.

Whoever is going to be the Bucs quarterback in 2023, that climb to the Super Bowl will be significantly steeper without Brady.

While Edwards didn’t deny the potential of Brady’s final year puts a premium on returning to the Super Bowl, Edwards confessed it is as much if not more so a chance for the defense to redeem itself after how the 2021 season ended at home.

“Oh, every year is THE year,” Edwards said. “But yeah, that terrible loss we had [Rams]. That was tough. That is definitely our shoulders. We definitely want to avenge that defeat and try to get a ring. We try to get a ring every year.

“[With 2022 possibly being Brady’s last with the Bucs] this would be a big year to do it.”

Hey, Joe is still bitter about that loss as well. But you know what? Joe likes how the players are PO’ed. It shows they have pride. It shows they know they can play better. It shows they are locked in and want to clear their good names.

The way the season ended in 2021 stunk. How the players are motivated to get payback and do better and play longer is inspiring.

    Phew! The famous Bowles Blunder.

Too bad they weren’t pissed off about two prior Rams losses where they got their nards handed to them. Too bad they couldn’t tackle.

I’ll believe it when I see it with Todd calling defense.

Only games I care about in the reg season are beating the supervillain duo of Rams and the Saints (twice). That’s happens and I’ll be super freaking happy.

going to be “difficult” yr without Gronk , Brown, and Godwin coming back from serious injury…Offense may not be able to outscore opponents–Plus we don’t kno Gage mystrey injury……. So ,, defense is going to have to play smarter, less penalties from White, & tackle more..

As long as it’s motivating them to work hard to get better, that’s all that matters. Sometimes the best feeling is that vindication you get from beating a team that sent you home. I remember when the Bucs finally beat the Eagles to go to their 1st SuperBowl. That was such an amazing feeling finally getting that monkey off our backs.

I wonder where all these mad players were at when the Bucs made the Lions look good for 10+ years? Just wondering…

How nice it is not to be there anymore!

Hard to believe we called an all out Blitz, when Stafford and the Rams were beating it all day.
Playing in Detroit, Stafford is used to pressure, and almost thrives on it.
That was a terrible call, that ended our season, and Brady’s shot at another Super Bowl.
Usually a stupid call like that will get you fired.

Chris, in Tampa it gets you a HC job!

It will be forever known as Todd Bowles’ Bowl.
