Tom Brady Claims He’s “Not Super Strict On My Diet”

June 15th, 2022

Tom Brady talks sharp decline after 30.

Joe laughs at how Tom Brady often tries to act like he’s a regular guy.

He’s not, and he doesn’t want to be. And that’s ok.

Brady chatted on Today on NBC this morning as part of an edited interview.

Of course, Brady was asked about being a mid-40s quarterback and how his diet and training regimen has changed over the years.

Brady responded that he’s passionate about diet and conditioning because it’s allowed him to keep playing.

“Had I not taken care of my body, you know, I would have been a very typical athlete that by the time you reach 30, you’re on a sharp decline. And I’m not super strict on my diet. I always try to make that really clear,” Brady said. “Most people think I’m some crazy diet [person]. I think that’s just ’cause that’s low hanging fruit sort of speak. I try to drink a lot of water.”

Ok, Tom, you’re not so strict. So what do you enjoy off your diet? Brady was asked.

“I like cheeseburgers. I like ice cream. I like chocolate cake. You know, I like what everyone else likes,” Brady said.

Brady saying he isn’t super strict about his diet is about as silly as it gets. But hey, Joe’s glad Brady is so happy mauling cheeseburgers and chocolate cake as he drives to Carvel here and there. It’s working for him.

Most interesting to Joe about the interview was Today hosts Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer noting that Brady “didn’t dispel that notion” when Brady was told that nobody believes he’ll retire after this season. Melvin appeared to be referring to time with Brady off-camera.

The ice cream is avocado, that sounds appetizing. What a bunch of hooey. He has round the clock chefs that make his meals. I’m sure he eats lots of pizza and chocolate cake. A man that believes in concussion water? I’m sure Brady has cheat days (no pun intended)

  2. LOL Says:

Tom doesn’t seem like the Taco Bell type tbh…. LOL

Of course he likes those things, it is just how much he eats of whatever, and what is it made out of lol. There is lot of things you can eat, if it is in a natural state versus, “containing preservatives out the ying yang” like so much food today. lol What is the shelf life of a Twinkie? Something like 87 years lol lol. You know that just might not be good to eat lol. I am no nutritionist, but if the food is in a natural state, you can eat some normal things that most people like. For me, I still want to enjoy the food, the taste and all, not just force myself to eat some science project food lol that tastes like crap lol

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  4. A Bucs Fan Says:

It’s all about quality and freshness. Most people can even eat raw meat safely if you process a good clean animal yourself or have a local farmer do it for you.

  5. PassingThru Says:

I’ve had avocado ice cream, it was surprisingly good.

  6. Cobraboy Says:

    Twinkies > Avocado ice soy

  7. #8 Says:

    Suh eats linemen.

  8. GOB Says:

A Bucs Fan, GOB loves him some steak tartare. Got a great local butcher who chops it up just right. As long as you’re not eat raw hamburger, the chances of getting sick from a whole muscle cut is very low.

  9. Marine Buc Says:

No nightshade vegetables – and a ton of water… lol

And maybe a little testosterone and HGH… SHHHHHH!!!!

  10. GOB Says:

Marine Buc, LoL. To think anything else is childish. I’m sure staying away from peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, and eggplant is the reason for his longevity.

  11. GOB Says:

Don’t forget he had a connection to the infamous Greg Anderson

    @Cobraboy

Actually, there wasn’t soy in it Cobraboy. I couldn’t even detect the taste of avocado. Beats me why it was an ingredient, maybe it’s just a thickener. In that regard, it beats the hell out of guar gum which is used as a thickener in lots of our processed foods, including ice cream. I only know about it because of my dealings with overseas oil drillers as they use guar gum too (don’t ask).

Instead of soy milk, they used coconut milk. I detected a slight taste, but the dominant taste was semi-sweet chocolate. It was pricey and seemingly weird, something I wouldn’t buy, but Mrs. PassingThru has been trying to get me to cut down on all the bad foods that I crave.

On a side note, My wife is a dietitian, and we eat plenty of canned fruits and vegetables. Unless you’re picking it from your garden, and consuming it straight away, the vitamin content of canned food is actually higher than most “fresh” food. Canned foods will also retain the vitamin value indefinitely, unless the can is damaged. GOB once consumed a can of sardines that had expired 10 years before. Send all your expired canned food to me.

  14. Cobraboy Says:

PT: twinkles still > avocado ice soy

  15. GOB Says:

I love Twinkies, especially frozen. Stick em in the ice box for a couple hours. Devil dogs too. You’ll never eat them at room temp again.

  16. Lt. Dan Says:

    “Carvel”

Lt. Dan no longer resides in the Bay area so he has to ask, “Is Carvel still a thing?” Anyone remeber “The Booby Trap” ice cream shop just outside of Orlando. Pretty cool set up. Set up to reseamble..well…boobies! images can still be found on the interwebs.

  17. Eddie Marz Says:

Tom eats at Subway too. Only it was about 25 years ago. He’s probably strict but not crazy. GOBUCS!
