The Ageless Tom Brady (And Why The Bucs Are So, So Lucky)

June 24th, 2022

Stunning numbers.

This just seems biologically impossible. But that is the humanoid that is Tom Brady.

Most folks who watch sports know that the closer a player gets to 40, the closer he is to retirement.

Guys that get near 40 are far more often hangers-on than stars. Non are as good as they were when they were on the other side of 30.

Well, then there’s Brady.

Once in a blue moon a player will get past 40 in the NFL. It’s rare. Never does a guy push 45 and excel. Well, unless his name is “Brady.”

The Twitter feed NFL Research came up with stats that just blow Joe’s mind, and they demonstrate how fortunate the Bucs and Bucs fan are to have Brady. It seems beyond belief that a guy would have better stats in his 40s than he would in his 20s. But Brady is doing just that.

For perspective, Brady took over as the Belicheats quarterback three games into the 2001 season at age 24. He had six full seasons as the Belicheats’ starting quarterback. In his last five seasons since turning 40, three with the Belicheats and two with the Bucs, Brady has surpassed all his numbers in six-plus seasons in his 20s.

This also includes how Brady led the NFL in passing with 5,316 yards — at age 44!

This Brady is a freakshow. And Joe is damn glad he’s in Tampa Bay.

So he was drafted at 22. Didnt really put up any stats rookie season and he got knocked out for entire season with player going for knees rule. So another season of no stats which should be in 20’s or he was almost 30

Regardless , that is crazy he put up those stats in 40’s compared to 20’s

So game has changed from run first to pass first since start of his career. But that is Craziness. Dude is a freak

Brady was 31 when he blew out his knee (2008).

Most people would be enjoying their money and toys at his age, not Tom Brady!
He is driven, and so glad he is a Buc!

Less passing offense 20 yrs ago league wide. Rule changes continue to promote offense. This should be considered; nonetheless TB is still a fine wine.

The Greek titan (god) of time, chronos. Was do brutal he killed his children. Almost all. The Olympian Zeus was his son that beat him and then reduced his powers but didn’t kill him.

I find Brady to be a true Olympian, a Victor over time.

In so doing you must still pay with time on occasion.

We in turn must be grateful for the time Brady won for us

Brady was more of a game manager in his early years. It was a different league then. It wasn’t until the colts crybaby GM whined to the league office, and got the rules changed. They had to do something to help Manning win a Superbowl. Even so, it’s still completely astounding how well he’s played in his 40s. He started rededicating himself after Jimmy G was drafted. Brady was 37, and many people thought it was the beginning of the end for ole Tommy boy.

We are definitely lucky to have this dude. Lol, I got ripped once on here by multiple people when I said that Brady had to do something as a Buc before I put him on the same level as Ali, Jordan, and Gretzky. He’s done more than enough in my eyes to have surpassed those guys. I’m gonna relish this season like a mofo.
