“I Don’t Need To See Him”

May 10th, 2022

“Kyle. hold my spot.”

Will Tom Brady be working at One Buc Palace this spring?

Offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich weighed in on that today.

“I don’t need to see him,” Leftwich said when asked if Brady will be working with the team through OTAs and minicamp. “We’ll be fine if he participates or not.”

Leftwich had a smile on his face, noting that Brady has seen enough and done enough with the Bucs for everyone to be comfortable.

Quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen noted that the team is looking forward to giving a ton of time all spring to second-year QB Kyle Trask. With veterans Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin entering their fourth season in the offense, the Bucs aren’t stressed about work for those guys, either.

“That’s on our radar as must be done,” Christensen said about having Trask command the spring snaps. “That has to be done.”

Trask def needs plenty of work…he didnt look good during preseason last year.

  2. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Perfect plan – work Trask hard and find out what he’s got. We know all about the other guys.

  3. Beeej Says:

There’s no excuse for not finding out whether Trask is a go or a no go over the next 6 months

I think developing Trask should be a priority this year. He might be the QB of the future (great college play and two years learning from Brady, Leftwich, Arians, Christensen, Moore). Too many weapons, a top 3 OL and a developing defense. I think he can be a game manager early on and slowly develop into something else.

I agree completely with the above comments regarding trying to see what Trask can do and not do well. Hopefully he wins the back-up spot to TB12 and takes over when TB12 retires. That would be a great scenario.

  6. David Says:

Nice. Good yo hear Trask getting the main reps.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Cut Trask some slack for last year’s pre season…..as Joe would say….he was throwing to & protected by future UPS drivers, mattress movers, insurance claims adjusters and sports blog writers….

  8. Iamabuc Says:

…”and sports blog writers”….🤣🤣🤣🤣.. I saw what you did there..🤣🤣🤣

  9. Bucsfan4ever Says:

    I agree with testing Trask.

  10. Pewter Power Says:

Practice reps are critical but he needs the majority of snaps in live preseason games to test development and accuracy

  11. CrackerBall Says:

We have made an investment in Trask – hope we let him watch and learn as long as possible.

  12. BiggBucc Says:

I love hearing that, he needs time in the saddle and the coaching staff needs a good look at him in good game time speed and situations. And us fans want to see his development too.. At least me

Madmax , Trask looked great in the final preseason game, you must have missed that one.
