Tom Brady Disrespecting Tristan Wirfs

This is no way to treat the guy that saves your neck each week!
So Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, never to be confused with Michael Vick or Lamar Jackson, is a borderline statue in the pocket. He needs his big uglies up front to not need the aid of crutches.
In front of Brady is an All-Pro right tackle, Tristan Wirfs. One would think Brady would be so appreciative of Wirfs for helping keep the 44-year old signalcaller upright and not needing a cane that Brady might text him once in a while to see how the pride of Mount Vernon, Iowa is getting along.
Nope.
Wirfs isn’t yet high enough up the international superstar, jet-setter and Hollywood producer’s totem pole for Brady to lower himself to give Wirfs, a valuable teammate, his cell number.
Joe and the rest of the local pen and mic club learned this when Wirfs today at One Buc Palace was asked how often he keeps in touch with the future Hall of Famer in the offseason. Wirfs smiled nervously, sheepishly and confessed he doesn’t.
“I don’t have Tom’s number,” Wirfs shrugged. “I don’t think I’m there yet.”
Wirfs guessed he’s not a big enough celebrity to be gifted with The GOAT’s number.
C’mon Tom, that’s no way to treat your best security blanket. Joe hears and reads all sorts of teammates who say they get texts from Brady, like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Even Ryan Jensen has FaceTimed with Brady. But Wirfs isn’t important enough?
That’s no way to be, Tom!
As for where Wirfs was when he heard the news that Brady unretired — no, he didn’t get tipped off by Brady like some teammates did — Wirfs said he was in a restaurant with his mom when she saw the bulletin on a TV behind Wirfs and started pointing and telling him to look.

I know you wrote this in a more passive, playful and light-hearted way, but I can tell there is a slight bit to that all that rubs you wrong….just a little. Just by how many times and ways you referenced “Tom, that ain’t no way (to treat)….” You’re being ridiculous. –Joe
I initially thought the same thing too though when he said it at his PC today. I was kinda surprised, not shocked, but just a little surprised
We already know it ain’t affecting his play on the field or position on this Team in any way though, so blasé-blasé!

This is the kind of BS we hitched our wagon to. Im grateful, appreciative Tampa got another trophy and probably MOST importantly – being relevant, god its nice to be relevant. But jesus effing christ, some of this other stuff is getting old. I cant stand lebron james, but if this were lebron james pulling this same retirement stunt with rumors of forcing his way to miami – he would be ethered in to the mist. Raked over the coals. I could personally do without some of this crap and this is simply a yr by yr rental. It sure would be nice if we got our own Justin Herbert type of QB – seems like half the league is armed with young franchise Quarterbacks now

I can understand the reason why his receivers have his number, and I can understand why the guy who hikes him the ball has his number. I just can’t think of a ‘good’ reason why any of the other linemen need it.
Wirfs isn’t being disrespected. Wirfs’ job just doesn’t require him and the QB to work as closely together as the QB does with his receivers and his center. I would be a lot more concerned if he didn’t have the OC’s number.

This is such a non story. Has Wirfs asked for his number? Brady is the ultimate teammate. The man has been in the league 23 years, and not one teammate former or current has anything bad to say about the guy. How many other players can say the same thing? As far as drama, he can’t help that various media clowns write stories about him. I’m a life long Bucs fan, and I swear some of you suffer from Tom Brady Derangement Syndrome. The various Pats fans act like bitter exes who won’t move on, and some of the Bucs fans and media act like the current insecure girlfriend

LeBron James would get ethereal into oblivion because he has earned the poor reputation. People build him up to be many things he is not because reasons. Then you have the decision fiasco, constantly changing teams looking for the best players and then running off the court early when they lose, defends China, and I’m not going to get into the active participation in politics via Twitter though he did blast a police officer for saving the life of someone….none of the above can be attributed to Brady.
The most controversial things he has done is leave New England as quietly as possible, be blamed for cheating he has been proven innocent of doing and having political attire in his personal locker. When Brady earns the reputation James has, then you might connect how the two are treated on social media but not now…not reasonably justified.

I don’t get this. The very first thing we heard the moment after Tom signed in 2020 was that he requested the contact info for EVERY BUC PLAYER. I’m sure this just fell thru the cracks and that Wirfs will get a very friendly call from the GOAT to rectify.
Tom has NEVER EVER given off that “I’m better than you” attitude to ANY teammate in his life. Wirfs just innocently humbled himself which Team Brady will fix pronto.

How is anyone on this team trashing Brady? Why would he have Brady’s number? He was possibly retiring and he’s done nothing but boost this team’s presence. You all need to stop the hate and maybe now that Toms I retired and the season starts he’ll get his number. He’s also younger than the other guys who have his number. Quit complaining, root the boys. Up to you though 🤷🏽♂️
