The comments on Trask were dumb.

  2. WiscoJoe Says:

Just out of curiosity, if you don’t think this Tom Brady to the Dolphins thing is real then why don’t you think he’ll be here next year? I get his contract runs out after this year but he could extend.

    WiscoJoe:

Simple. If you believe the rumors, Brady has a piece of the Dolphins waiting for him. Unless Team Glazer has made some secret pledge with Brady — owners have to approve all ownership transactions — Team Glazer is unlikely to sell him a piece of the Bucs.

Unbelievable!! I’m listening to this podcast going onto my fourth hour in an Emergency waiting room! Completely miserable, but your ER waiting room personality comment just gave me a huge chuckl [– Ugh. Four hours. Hope you feel better. Glad we could help you kill time. ER visits suck. — Joe]

You are making things up here about the opinions of the hosts. So your comment was deleted. –Joe

Yeah, I understand that he has a piece of the team waiting for him. Unless I’m mistaken (which I very well could be) but I thought you guys said that you don’t believe those Dolphins rumors and then you said you don’t think he’ll be on the team next year. So if you don’t believe the rumors why don’t you think he’ll be a Buccaneer?
The Dolphins rumors about Brady/Flores/Ross meeting were following the 2019 season. A lot of people don’t realize that. The Payton/Brady/ownership chatter was the recent stuff. Joe believes the latter was a fat string of maybes that have been glued together to make a pretty story. There are lots of maybes in the NFL. There’s no reason to think any of was imminent. Brady would have still been under contract here and Payton with New Orleans (he’s still under contract for three more seasons). And the NFL would have had to approve of Brady being an owner/player. Until Brady extends hits Bucs contract, Joe assumes Brady wants a new team next season. Doesn’t mean the Bucs can’t win his 2023 heart, but until he signs, he’s on a goodbye tour. –Joe

Top QBs taken in 2021 Draft

    Trevor Lawrence (No. 1 overall)
    Zach Wilson (No. 2 overall)
    Justin Fields (No. 3 overall)
    Trey Lance (No. 10 overall)
    Mac Jones (No. 14 overall)
    Kyle Trask (No. 64 overall)

I believe Lee over emphasizes the “stat” of KT being the only QB in top 6 not to take a snap (I think I’ve heard him state it 3 times in different podcasts, at least twice). None of the other 5 QBs had a top 10 QB on the roster, and all of them were expected to play in season 1, if not day 1, as soon as they were drafted.

No one expected Trask to play, and if he did, odds would have been the Bucs 2021 season was already in the toilet before Trask saw the field.

While that “stat” is true, I don’t think it alone provides any indication of the team’s feelings on KT.
