“I’m 90 Percent”

April 25th, 2022

All-Pro right tackle Tristan Wirfs

Beastly Bucs All-Pro right tackle Tristan Wirfs was talking last night.

More specifically, talking to The Sage of Tampa Bay Sports.

That’s Ira Kaufman, the JoeBucsFan.com columnist who was mingling at the Arians Family Foundation fundraiser in Palm Harbor. Kaufman caught up to Wirfs 1-on-1, and Wirfs shared that his ugly January ankle sprain is nearly back to normal.

“I’m 90 percent,” Wirfs told Ira.

Also, Wirfs said he still can’t believe he allowed two sacks to Cameron Jordan last season. That fact is firmly stuck in Wirfs’ craw, but Wirfs did say he feels like overall he was a better player than he was as a standout rookie in 2020.

Joe was so glad to hear the stellar news about Wirfs’ recovery. Now let’s hope Lavonte David can make more strides with his bad foot.

Enjoy the new Ira Kaufman Podcast.

    And Godwin! Please!

    Go Bucs

  3. Erick Says:

Probably be 100% if he wasn’t inexplicably put back in that Philly game

  4. Bucsfan4ever Says:

Take care, Tristan. You are appreciated

  5. zzbucs Says:

Extraodinary player……..Much needed after his injury……And great kid too…

  6. Jeff Says:

He destroyed that ankle when clueless Bruce let him back in the game. That was such a foolish move.

  7. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Jeff – So if he didn’t play that game and we lost because his replacement was giving up sacks like in the Rams game , then you would be saying it was BAs fault for not putting him in !! Last year is over !! Last time I checked it wasn’t the right tackle who gave up 3 straight completions to Cooper Kupp with less than a minute to play ??!; People ALWAYS have something to complain about. If a player says he can play the coaches usually let them play ! If I would have played those 5 numbers different on the Powerball ticket then I’d be a millionaire right now… Go Bucs

  8. SlyPirate Says:

75% of the time, I’m operating at 80%. 90% is great.

    @TBDJ82

Spot on analysis. Honest question. Do you feel same way about AB? After its all said and done this exact same thing AB PREVENTED and was protecting himself from. Could it be he noticed this from the team? Wondering if you so that in same light why or why not? Thanks

    GO Bucs!

  10. Crickett Baker Says:

Well said TampaBay..and I am still wondering why no one has mentioned Brady’s lifetime Sports player achievement he got last night!

  11. Esteban85 Says:

Once Brady leaves us Wirfs will take over as the best player on our squad. What luck that he is a Buc. May end up being the greatest player ever drafted by the Bucs if he keeps on this trajectory. What a stud

  12. Eddie Marz Says:

Wirfs should have NEVER re-entered that game. Don’t give me any nonsense about the Ram game. Do you want to ruin a players career by bring him back injured? It’s not up to the player to decide, that’s why we have doctors and trainers.
    GOBUCS!

  13. TJ Says:

Ask Grant Hill how it went playing on an injured ankle unecessarily.
