“I Just Don’t Think [Tom] Brady Was On The Sixth Floor Of The Depository Waiting For Bruce [Arians] To Turn Around On Elm Street”

April 8th, 2022

Not Tom Brady.

A guy who gives off the whiff that he is something of a Tom Brady intimate, former NFL coffee fetcher and general manager Michael Lombardi, doesn’t believe Brady and the Bucs were involved in any sort of conspiracy.

The rumors are still all out there. You don’t have to hunt to find them. You know, Brady gave Team Glazer an ultimatum: It’s either me or Bruce Arians.

Lombardi loves to talk about John F. Kennedy conspiracies,  if you listen to his weekly podcast “GM Shuffle.” So in making an analogy between JFK’s assassination and the Bucs, Lombardi said in so many words that Brady is not Lee Harvey Oswald.

“It doesn’t make sense,” Lombardi said of the timing of Arians stepping down. “It’s just going to add to the conspiracies, which, you know, I love conspiracy theories. I just don’t think Brady was on the sixth floor of the depository waiting for Bruce to turn around on Elm Street and be in a triangular configuration. I think that is a lot of nonsense.”

The rumored friction means nothing, Lombardi said, and it happens all the time between coaches and players, especially quarterbacks.

Lombardi truly believed Arians when he said it was time.

Joe is convinced this story will live on for decades, maybe generations. One day there will be a docudrama about Brady and in his Bucs days, where he will be portrayed as working behind the scenes to cut Arians off at the knees.

Hey, it makes for a cool story.

  1. Bucs Guy Says:

BA did what he always said he would do. As I recall when he signed
    1) He signed a 3 year deal = he was here for 3 seasons
    2) He returned because most of his previous coaches were available = he brought Bowles and others with him for familiarity
    3) He said he wanted to pass the reigns to one of his coaches when he left = we’ve been talking Bowles or Leftwich for some time now
Check, check and check. Those outside of Tampa either didn’t know this, dismissed out or just like to create a story. I do believe BA in that the only reason he was staying was because TB12 left. If Brady had said he was coming back and never retired, I believe BA would have retired sooner this offseason.

  2. adam from ny Says:

he wasn’t going to cut BA off at the knees…

after he already tackled him in the locker room and cut his achilles tendon…

tommy b is a locker room savage 🙂

  3. stpetebucsfan Says:

So from my late father the bookie. Life is possibilities and probabilities. The latter used to determine odds.

    So let’s consider the possibilities…

Brady ran off Arians….Arians is hiding health issues…Arians..Licht and Brady are ALL liars…or spin meisters at minimum,

Or…Bruce Arians is an exceptional human being..at least by today’s standards and by the standards of many who attend this blog..and simply did the RIGHT THING! He saw the writing on the wall. He wanted to pay back the years of loyalty Bowles has shown him. He wanted to take care of the 32 families of coaches and others he felt responsible for.

Is it even freaking possible in some of you guys minds that BA is not a selfish ahole…obviously leave “list..” out that equation. LMAO

Feel free to add any possibilities I neglected to mention. So what are the odds?
Why do people seem to literally NEED to believe it’s possibility #1 instead of the last possibility…BA simply did the RIGHT THING!!!

I conclude with a bit of logic. Yes list and the other nattering nabobs of negativity (salute to Spiro) demand that #1 is the odds on favorite. I believe that the last possibility is the favorite but I don’t really care.

One of us is right…one of us is wrong. If I’m wrong then I’m the pollyanna snowflake. If I’m right I get to give a super decent human being his props and ENJOY life!

If list is right then hey…he’s right. Is that enough to satisfy? If he’s wrong he’s wasted a portion of his life in jaded cynicism at the expense of a decent human being.

  4. Alanbucsfan Says:

Is the guy with the gun “Not Mike Florio”?

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Am I the only one who is getting tired of this? Perhaps it will take getting into the season before it hits the back pages.

  6. Listnfrmafar Says:

The GOAT is back the old goat is gone, does it.really matter? Kill it Joe, move on.

  7. SufferingSince76 Says:

Slow news cycle. Come on, Draft!!

  8. K2 Says:

I don’t think writers outside the Tampa area do any harm. It’s local writes that give the BS legs.

  9. Bucman Says:

In the future docudrama, can I play the part of Brady?

  10. Jimmy Says:

Michael Lombardi doesn’t think the mob or the FBI or the Cubans knocked off Bruce Arians?

  11. Biff Barker Says:

It was Mr Green in the study with the rope.

    Everybody knows that.

  12. Elita Vita Says:

No Joe, I don’t think it was Tom Brady on the sixth floor of the book depository in Dallas that day, but Joe, if you play that Zapruder film real slow can’t you hear a guy from the grassy knoll yelling LTG!!!

  13. Elita Vita Says:

No Joe, I don’t think it was Tom Brady on the sixth floor of the Depository building that day in Dallas. However, if you listen VERY carefully and slow down the Zapruder film real slow, can’t you hear a guy yelling LFG!!!

  14. Elita Vita Says:

^^Yelling LFG on the grassy knoll!!!^^

  15. G in MAxxa Says:

Amazing to me how you sound like the Boston sport show hosts ! Your not connected to Brady but every one speculates that they know something !! What are you all going to do when Brady leaves ? You and felgar in Boston will play with yourselfs!!!

  16. SPARKY Says:

It couldn’t have been Mike Florio, because he is way off on everything he shoots at.

  17. Eddie Marz Says:

I’d rather believe Arians, he wanted to turn the team over Bowles in the best possible position, knowing Brady was coming back. GOBUCS!

  18. Dooley Says:

The conspiracy theories are going to keep going because it’s 2022 and the secrets been out that sensationalism sells or at least is a good way to generate traffic. No matter how many times BA elaborates the why relative to when he retired/stepped down its going to be spun to be made out like some cheesy storyline on a reality show. It’s actually pretty amusing, until you get sick of hearing “In my opinion” before they start laying on the BS thicker than a Wendys’ frosty.

  19. Bucsfan4ever Says:

    I just don’t care.

  20. Bucsfan4ever Says:

This whole thing reminds me of being sick and staying home from school.
My mom would watch “As the World Turns” and “All My Children” and “Dark Shadows” till I was begging to go back to school. Dialing for Dollars was usually ok, tho.

  21. Allbuccedup Says:

So Trask is getting traded to the Detroit Lions for their 3rd round pick?

  22. Crickett Baker Says:

SPBF..You are a great writer and loved your alliteration. And Dooley–where you came up with your BS reference should curl the hair of the little red-headed girl. Enjoy you guys!

  23. SOEbuc Says:

Plllllzzzz get here draft. Bad enough I hear this sh!t from nattys that they are psychic and can read Brady’s mind.

It’s even more sad when I see it multiple times a day on JBF.

The Glazers, Licht, and Brady are the only ones that know the truth about anything.

  24. Koo123 Says:

All I know is Arians doesn’t care about nobody but himself.
He would have been a mediocre for ever but Tom.
The problem is Tom believes in work not just taking credit. Nobody else could have gotten him fired but Tom Brady. And now he is getting to podcasts trying to undermine him. He is setting up that Nobody Leftwitch for failure in the future because at some point he will be without Tom.
It an awful move to keep Arians with the Bucs in any capacity. Period
