Bucs Haven’t Given Up On Re-Signing Ndamukong Suh

April 29th, 2022

Not gone yet.

So Joe thought the fact the Bucs drafted a defensive tackle meant one thing.

That would be bye-bye Ndamukong Suh. The Bucs only have so much cash under the cap and the only reason Suh hasn’t re-signed (yet) is that the Bucs are tight with what they can spend.

Don’t jump to conclusions, Bucs coach Todd Bowles said.

Bowles was asked how he planned to use defensive tackle Logan Hall who the Bucs selected to open the second round tonight. Bowles admitted he can’t speculate on using the University of Houston product because he doesn’t know if Suh will return or not.

Well, what other conclusion is there?

  2. ModHairKen Says:

This is a big FU to Suh.

  3. SufferingSince76 Says:

It’s not wise to tell Suh FU. They will not.

  4. SB~LV Says:

Bucs have Suh in a pickle, nothing personal, his best next year in football is with the Bucs , familiarity on both sides. Don’t think he’ll leave for whatever the market may pay

  5. Dew Says:

Suh will show up the same day as Gronk. Both have earned to take it a little easy IMO.

  6. Defense Rules Says:

ModHairKen … ‘This is a big FU to Suh’.

Quite the contrary IMO. Bucs didn’t just draft a DT when they picked Logan Hall; he’s the prototype DE/OLB that can also play inside … some. He’s JPP’s replacement; not Suh’s. Bucs wouldn’t have draftedHall IMO unless they were confident in re-signing Suh.

Now if the NEXT pick is a real DT (like Winfrey or Mathis), THEN it’s probably hasta la vista Ndamukong.

  7. sasquatch Says:

If they draft Travis Jones at 60, signing Suh will become optional. And Suh’s leverage drops. It has already dropped after the Logan Hall pick.

  8. Rod Munch Says:

You do not play a rookie defensive lineman if you’re wanting to win. If they didn’t think Suh is back, and they skipped on Wyatt, who I think is the most pro-level d-lineman in the draft, that would be pretty stupid. Hall is going to take some time to get up to speed at the NFL-level so they had better be resigning Suh, and I think picking Hall pretty much makes that certainty.

  9. Coburn Says:

I think we need 3 guys to roatte at 3-4 end and I think between Gholston and hall we have 2/3. There are enough snaps if Gholston comes back. All 3 will get meaningful playing time. I’m assuming that where hall will play, but seeing others saying olb on early downs and rushing inside. Not sure about that. Scouting report seems to indicate 3-4 end is likely and that’s where he played in college. Guess we will see. I think with Shaq, Nelson, JTS we needed 3-4 end more

  10. Buc4lyfe79 Says:

Suh’s leverage hasn’t diminished just because a new D-lineman got drafted. On the contrary, who better than Suh would you want your new rookie D-lineman to be learning from? Gholston, Vea and co. have all sung praise to Suh for helping them to develop and become better players.

Suh is a must one yr sign, please…

  13. sasquatch Says:

    Draft Travis Jones.

  14. 813bucboi Says:

    Suh still has the leverage

Two rookies can’t produce what suh can…gotta resign suh

  15. Aaron Says:

Logan hall looks like he will be better then suh real talk I’ll give y’all that one Younger and already fits it

  16. GOB Says:

I wouldn’t lose sleep over Suh. Glad they picked a d lineman. He looked slow and disinterested against the Rams

  17. Mike Johnson Says:

Make it happen Licht. I like Suh. He plays with a nasty streak. Every team needs a guy like him

  18. Esteban85 Says:

I think the contract is written and waiting till after draft day. If they signed Suh before the draft that may have tipped their hand. By not signing either Suh or Gronk we sent up smoke signals indicating we could be desperate for a TE or DT. This kid is no Suh, he is more a JPP body type and the fact he’s going to be wearing #90 tells me Suh will be back and JPP is gone baby.

  19. don g Says:

Love Suh He is as mean as they come Think a Jensen for the D-LINE BUT if its time to move on? I hope he takes less cash and plays honestly

  20. Steven M. Says:

Suh and Gronk will be back !

  21. Tim R. Says:

The Bucs can make it just fine without Suh. It is the time to go much younger in a couple of positions. The Bucs have many with much experience that will allow this change. The younger ones can aquire necessary knowledge that’ll help them. If we don’t get some new players now then we’ll be in a bad position.
