“This One Doesn’t Make Any Sense”

March 26th, 2022

Calling out bad rumor.

Once a blowtorch of a sports radio show puts out a rumor with the help of Twitter, it is going to have legs whether it is full of sh!t or not.

And that was the case WEEI in Boston claimed their former hockey guy Dale Arnold, currently studio host for Boston Bruins telecasts on NESN, claimed Tom Brady is trying to muscle Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht into a trade to Miami.

Several credible reporters have shot this down as nonsense. And on face value, it is total bulls(p)it. Yet this rumor won’t die.

Appearing on the “Pat McAfee Show” yesterday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport explained how this rumor is laughable.

“This one doesn’t make any sense,” Rapoport said.

Joe guesses that unless or until the Bucs or Brady and stomp out this campfire, it will still be talked about. You can watch Rapoport’s take on this rumor in the video below.

This rumor is nothing but a BS!

  2. Bucs Win Says:

Dale Arnold’s source is probably Florio.

  3. WillieG Says:

Brady is going to sign a contract extension and in the ensuing press conference, he will address the stupid rumors about the 49ers, Dolphins, and his alleged disenchantment with BA.

For now, I think the Bucs like being talked about every day. I’m sure Mr “I’m Selling Everything” Brady doesn’t mind having his name out there all day, every day either.

  4. westernbuc Says:

They’re going to give this the Deshaun Watson treatment. Hype up a trade that never happens until the trade deadline, then talk all offseason about how he wants to be on another team. If it’s true, they pretend to be disgusted that Brady would turn on our generous team, if it doesn’t turn out to be true they pretend it almost was

  5. Snookman Says:

    Blah blah blah. Fake News

  6. steele Says:

    Dumb.

  7. NDoGS burner Account Says:

Why would Brady go to the loaded AFC when he can coast to the playoffs in the dumpster fire NFC South?

  8. TAMPA BAY DEMON Says:

God almighty, can everyone move on from this?

    It’s frikking stupid.

  9. WalkdaPlank Says:

The amount of people that think this is real makes the world a sad place because those same people are allowed to vote…

  10. Bruce Blahak Says:

Same yahoos that attend rallies of a criminal…

  11. HC Grover Says:

And Brady has recruited Flipper to play TE.

  12. Stone crab sam Says:

Did you know that there is this guy who swears he won an election even though he lost by ~8 million votes. And some ding dongs actually believe that BS? It just goes to show that some need to revisit second grade all over again. Point being it is certainly wise to not believe everything one says these days…. That’s for sure!
Copious amounts of babble run rampant….

  13. Bucsfan4life Says:

Y would Brady want to go to Miami #? He would literally win nothing #!!

  14. Defense Rules Says:

I hear that one day long ago reporters used to actually verify their sources and the truthfulness of information that they sprung on the unsuspecting public BEFORE they sprung it. In our new internet age, apparently that requirement has gone by the wayside, and every Bubba, Beulah & Bobo is free to spread their version of ‘truth’ to anyone who stumbles across it.

Apparently ‘former hockey guy Dale Arnold, currently studio host for Boston Bruins’ who ‘telecasts on NESN’ (whatever that is), claims that ‘Tom Brady is trying to muscle Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht into a trade to Miami’. His contention certainly doesn’t pass the smell test and lacks any semblance of credibility.

So the bigger question becomes WHY. Why is what this Boston insignificant hockey guy says even being ‘reported’ and talked about in Tampa? Just because we can? Just because the internet allows for it? I understand full well that ‘blogs’ aren’t ‘the internet police’, but neither are they the Wild Wild West.

  15. SufferingSince76 Says:

Bruce, your talking about Joe Biden, right? You can’t hide from this one.

  16. STL-BucsFan Says:

It’s total trash of a rumor for a few reasons,,

    1) Why would Brady recruit all these players back just to leave?
    2) He re-upped his lease on his Tampa House
    3) Before they traded for Tyreek Hill they might have had enough to trade for Brady but now they dont have enough draft capitol to trade Trask muchless TOM BRADY!!!!!

sounds like talking heads filling air time and trying to stay relevant.

  17. Allen Lofton Says:

This really makes the media look stupid

  18. mg Says:

Arnold is a typical masshole. Has a dossier on the passenger seat of his car a foot thick on why he is the most important person in the world.

  19. Mike C Says:

Bruce Blahak, you are a tool

  20. Allen Lofton Says:

When Tom Brady shockingly announced that he was coming out of retirement on March 13, there was a small group of people who weren’t so shocked by the news and that’s because Brady had actually tipped them off beforehand.

That group includes his social media team at a company called Shadow Lion, along with two key Buccaneers teammates.

Brady sent shockwaves through the NFL less than two weeks ago when he sent out a tweet at 7:13 p.m. that declared that he would be returning to football.

Although that tweet is barely 50 words long, a lot of work went into making it and there wasn’t a lot of time for that work to be done. Brady contacted the guys at Shadow Lions at roughly 6:45 p.m. ET and told them he wanted something ready ASAP.

“I told them, ’30 minutes?'” Brady said in an email to Fox Sports. “So we went back and forth on the language, chose a couple photos and, well … let’s play some football!”

They only had 30 minutes to create something that ended up being retweeted more than 200,000 times.

Although there was speculation for weeks that Brady might return, it appears he didn’t actually settle on his decision to come back until the day he announced it.

“Once I made the decision [to return], I knew I just wanted to get it out and move on to get ready for the season,” Brady wrote in the email. “So, I FaceTimed the guys to let them know I was coming back, and we discussed how best to put it out there.”

Before officially announcing his return, Brady must have been a a busy guy, because not only did he contact the guys at Shadow Lion, but he also got in touch with two teammates.

During an interview this week, Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin revealed that he got a text from Brady on March 13 that stunned him.

“Yo…just letting y’all know…I’m coming back and I’m excited for another year,'” the text said, according to Godwin, via ESPN.com.

The text hit Godwin’s phone about 30 minutes before the quarterback announced his return to the rest of the world. Brady is on a text thread with both Godwin and Mike Evans and he had sent the message to both players. The text was so out of the blue that Evans and Godwin were both shocked to see it.

“Me and Mike were so gassed up, like, ‘Yo, what are you talking about? You just retired?!” Godwin said.

At least one sports book in Las Vegas believes that the news of Brady’s return leaked out in the week leading up to his announcement. However, listening to Brady tell it, it sounds like he genuinely didn’t know what he was going to do until March 13 and only a small circle of people knew that the announcement was coming before the QB actually made it.

  21. Big Bucs No Whammies Says:

We are fortunate to have TB12 back and I’m sure it’ll be a great season. Much better than any alternative for sure. I believe all these rumors for now are BS, I don’t think the GOAT would recruit the players we’ve signed if he was going to try to force his way out of Tampa to get to Miami. He released his tweet anouncing he’s coming out of retirement to play with the Bucs for his 23rd season. Said he loves his teammates and his family, and that his place was on the field. Like Joe said, TB12 could easily squash those rumors with a tweet denying the rumor and setting the record straight. Is Brady enjoying all the attention he’s getting now? You bet.

On the flipside, I do feel there is a possiblity of Brady looking at Miami next year. Why? If you hadn’t read or don’t know, Tom Brady and his family will be building a home in a place called “Billionaire Bunker” very exclusive piece of land in Miami where only the extremely rich people live. This is a private island with 24hr security and access is very limited for people who don’t own property there. Now who wouldn’t want to work closer to where they live? The Dolphins now have some really nice pieces on offense, especially with Tyreek Hill, new stud Oline Armstead. The chance to win a SB with 3 different teams. I were TB12, that option for my 24th season would be pretty appealing.

  22. Brazen Zebra Says:

The only way it makes sense to me is Brady wanted out from the Bucs org, so he retired thinking he could get a gig with the Niners. Did it fall through? Did the Niners give Brady the cold shoulder twice? He couldn’t get the gig he wanted, so he unretires back to the Bucs, but soon realizes he’s still unhappy with something in the Bucs org. That’s the only way it makes sense to me. Maybe Brady wants a change at HC like that Green Bay drama queen pulled off a few years back? Everything is so strange. I hope the rumor is BS.

  23. Bobby M. Says:

I think its just hype keeping the NFL the top headline while changing the discussion from Watson to Brady. It also helps Miami sell tickets to fanbase that has little to be excited about with Tua/Bridgewater on the roster.

  24. DarenGibo Says:

TB12 loves to win. LOVES IT. that drives him year in and year out. What else is TB12? a BRAND! and this brand is built on hard work, teamwork, respect, practice, trust, etc…. IMO, Tom is not going to have his brand crumble by coming back to Tampa and calling Evans/Godwin, recruiting Jensen, Lenny, Logan… only to then force a trade to Miami. NO WAY. In fact I truly feel he will play out all his playing years with Tampa, and THEN explore part ownership in Dolphins and settle in his cozy mansion in Miami…

  25. TDTB2022 Says:

This is what I call create comments to keep the flow going $$$$$!!!

  26. TheBradyBunch Says:

Bruce there is no point. The cultists are in too deep. Their dear leader convinced them that there is an alternative reality. This Arnold guy is kind of like him just making outrageous claims. The guy making the claim is just some radio guy. The news that they all claim is fake is not working the story because they have done some digging and there is nothing to it. Rumors like this is how Qanon started and how millions of gullible Americans believe a con man’s lies without a shred of real evidence.

  27. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’ve only heard about it here.

  28. Stanglassman Says:

People are profiting off these fake rumors. Its just being taken to the sports world now. Next step is for losing teams to declare their self’s the winner. Then raise a bunch of money off their gullible followers.

  29. Obie-Wan Says:

He had no intention of going to the 49’ers. Ever.

  30. Bruce Blahak Says:

So, there are uncompromised people in here, like Stanglassman. Some hope, but 81 million zombies exist.

  31. Dean Giusti Says:

Crabby Sam YOU are a SCUMBAG for bringing politics into this site.

  32. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

So what does Adam “Sheft Show” Shefter and Peter King (credible Bucs sources lately) have to say?

  33. Dean Giusti Says:

And for the record, since YOU brought it up all that means is there are 80 Million complete MORONS out there. You wanna debate how better off the country was under Trump? No I didn’t think so.
    Scumbag.

  34. Infomeplease Says:

A lot of Media makes their $$$$ selling BS!! The lies really started when Rupert Murdoch bought the Fox network. He made his money running a national enquirer type newspaper in England. And brought what he learned about generating controversy there, to Fox. His main premise is ” lies create controversy, controversy creates $$$$”. The bigger the lie the more $$$$ moves to his pocket!! Since then other Media have followed. It’s all about the click bank!

  35. Stone crab sam Says:

Dean don’t get your panties get all twisted in a bunch here. It’s not healthy to be delusional as you may find the truth will set you free! But if you must point insults my way, go ahead, I am very old school, and they don’t bother me a bit.

  36. Capeaceiskaput Says:

Miami coughed up all their 2022 draft capital already to get Hill. So this guy in Boston thinks we would still trade Brady to Miami? For what exactly? No immediate draft compensation? It would have to be 2023-2024 draft picks? Wow, sounds like a great deal. I give you the goat then get no returns on the value of the goat till 2023….
FYI, their are some good players that can be thrown in with picks but none that we can’t live without. Then all those players would have to eventually fit into our cap. The more you dig into this the more ridiculous it gets.

  37. Bird Says:

Old school or just old and dumb^^^

    Dude get lost!

  38. Chris Boyd Says:

I mean, he was supposed to be in San fran already, so…. lol

  40. New England Patriots Fan Says:

    @ Allen Lofton

There already stories on JBF citing quotes from Licht and people within then team that he told them he was returning 1 week before March 13th.

  41. Goatfarmer Says:

    This just in.

Brady to undergo gender alteration procedures so he can be the first woman to play quarterback, and he’ll be able to declare his contract null and void. Then he goes to SF as a free agent.

  42. gp Says:

Point being it is certainly wise to not believe everything one says these days…. That’s for sure!
    *****************************************************

    Case in point.

One side believes they won even though they ‘received’ less votes.
The other side believes they got more votes than ever before in history by hiding in the basement and barely campaigning.

Both of them ‘seem’ to have a history of shady dealings.
One of them ‘supposedly’ within the letter of the law but still taking advantage of leverage.
The other using political leverage (by his own admission on one occasion) over many years to enrich self and family, while compromising himself to international entities in the process. Entities not friendly to the US.

Try to lose your bias, step away from the argument, and look at it using only “common sense”.

Just please, use your own brain, and stop simply repeating talking points you’ve heard from your “trusted sources”.

  43. Stanglassman Says:

The classic both ‘sides do it’ trope. That use to fly a few years back but everyone sees right through it now. You way as well just yell out ‘But her emails’.

  44. IDROOLPEWTER&RED Says:

The rumor started from the same guys who said there was problems between Brady and Arians. They just can’t admits they were completely wrong and move on.

  45. LJS4th Says:

How are the Dolphins going to acquire Brady? They used all their draft picks on Hill and other players and it will take at least 3 1st round picks to get him that is why this is a BS story.

  46. gp Says:

“Trusted sources” sometimes get, and pass on bad information. Sometimes they flat out lie because….. You’ll believe em anyways.

Obviously, Brady has not thought this through. Because now his sideline upset antics will just look like a bitchy woman and not as someone who just hates to lose.

Would bring new meaning to the phrase “sacking the quarterback”!!!
