NFL Teams Scared Of Bucs Landing Deshaun Watson?

In the mix?

Very interesting Twitter that heavy metal, headbanging Jason La Canfora had last night on Deshaun Watson and the Bucs.

It seems NFL teams are of the belief Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht is working in the background and waiting in the weeds to pounce on Watson now that the gifted Houston quarterback will not face criminal charges over some 22 women claiming he got overly handsy and abusive with them while getting massages.

Joe wonders who these (ahem) people are?

Here is the thing to keep in mind about trying to lure Watson. He would have to waive his no-trade clause to accept a deal. The Stinking Panthers are breathing hot and heavy to land him but he nixed a deal last year to send him to Carolina.

Watson reportedly added the Bucs to his wish list recently. And he and Arians have a relationship of some sort.

Joe believes the Bucs are very much in the mix and it’s one reason the Bucs kept Chris Godwin.

You have to wonder if Watson agrees to a trade with the Bucs, if Watson asks Arians to stick around a few more years?

Please don’t embarrass The Tampa fans, the city and players with another qb with baggage like this. Use the qb’s we have n use that $ on keeping ones like Jensen or Fournette or another if we find in preseason we need a qb then see what’s out there and be sure to use the preseason qb with the starting offense so we know exactly what we’d have then put in second n third string. It may not be a super bowl year but we’ll get a chance to see what we have and draft smart

Watson was only in the news for this one thing which he wasn’t charged, other than that he was a model player along with a man. That all came out when he wanted to leave, stop putting a bad name on him.

  3. SufferingSince76 Says:

I’ll be glad when the team actually announces a QB so everyone can start b*tching about that.

  4. Daren Says:

The dude was found innocent and from what I have seen a pretty good dude in the community… just being accused makes him guilty??

  5. Daren Says:

Not sure why multiple uses of dude were used!!

  6. Buc92’ Says:

What baggage , get over it dude … Cleared is cleared , he was framed by the owner .. Tampa welcomes & accepts everybody except pedophiles . The fans that will stop watching can knock themselves out, Ull be replaced by another fan
    In 2.5 seconds lol

    GoBucs !

  7. Stanglassman Says:

Bbro no doubt holds his Qb to a much higher standard than POTUS.

  8. Floodgates Says:

^^and risk wasting the careers of Mike, Tristan and Devin with another lost decade? Yeah we good go get Watson

  9. Show Me the TDs Says:

Bbro, I agree. I would rather have a home grown draft pick at QB. Someone I can get behind and cheer for. It’s our team! Even though we won a SB with with TB12, he felt like a rental. Now we want to mortgage the future by bringing in Watson. People will close their eyes to anything in order to win. Football’s just not that important in the big scheme of life. Watson wasn’t criminally charged. Neither was OJ. Am I perfect? No way. I had a lot of eff ups along the way, but in trying to be a better person you try not to associate yourself with someone who 22 women accused of sexual crimes.

Glad you put a question mark after that sub-title ‘In the mix?’ Probably should’ve been a MUCH bigger question mark however.

  11. Bucs Guy Says:

Get Godwin to sign his deal and include him in the trade if you are dead set on making this deal.

  12. TBTeddy Says:

Remember this is America where you are innocent until proven guilty. Mike Evans & Watson with a good O line is damn near enough to win the division alone. Y’all idiots talking about the super bowl window is closed like we don’t have one of the easiest divisions in the whole nfl. Saints done, falcons trash, panthers have no QB. That means it’s still our time!!!

  13. TBTeddy Says:

Plus our defense wasn’t all that good last year anyways. So some of those guys are expendable

  14. Rob Says:

People pining for Watson are disgusting. 20+ accusers doesn’t happen unless it’s true, whether the state had enough evidence to file charges or not.

I’m done with this team if they sign the guy, and this site is only pushing these stories to generate clicks. Same as the constant Johnny Manzel noise years ago.

  15. NCalBucsfan Says:

For those of you who are thinking that Watson’s criminal worries are over, think again.
If new evidence or corroborated testimony comes out during the 22 civil trials that the DA finds actionable, the DA can reconvene a Grand Jury. It happens all the time.
If you don’t think that is going to be a factor in the Glazers decision you are very naive.
Also I suspect the fear of Watson repeating his actions in Tampa or as a member of the Bucs is also a major factor, as from what I read are serial/physiological in nature and not a one time “indiscretion”.

  16. ItzOK Says:

if you dont have the QB then this team will be lucky to win 6 games every year just make the deal and get him because they are NEVER available.
love the dumb strategy of starting some bum rookie who the Bucs know couldnt even show out in practice , or drafting a QB which will more than likely end up costing more draft picks. chasing the QB is the worst position to be in.
