Gamblers Do Not Like Mitch Trubisky’s Chances Of Landing In Tampa Bay

March 11th, 2022

Free agent QB Mitch Trubisky.

It has come to this: Teams actually want Mitch Trubisky.

Trubisky, who will forever be the answer to a sad bar bet in Chicago (“Who did the Bears trade up for and pass on Pat Mahomes and Deshaun Watson to draft?”), is actually coveted by some teams.

Why is that? Trubisky, when not facing a defense crafted by Mike Smith, was truly an awful quarterback.

Well, a ton of teams out there are begging for a quarterback. Washington was so desperate that they even called Kansas City to ask how much it would cost to bring Mahomes to the nation’s capital.

Pete Carroll, coach of the Seahawks, said his phone was ringing off the hook with teams wanting Russell Wilson.

In fact, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht and Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bruce Arians seemed desperate when speaking to media at the combine. Licht looked like he was coming from a wake. Arians appeared to be baiting Tom Brady into coming out of retirement.

So per Matt Severance of Sportsline, the Las Vegas wiseguys have set odds on what teams will end up with Trubisky. And Joe isn’t certain if this is bad or good but the wiseguys don’t seem to think Trubisky will be wearing Bucs pewter and red this fall.

So let Joe get this straight: Teddy Bridgewater, Blaine Gabbert or Trubisky? That’s what it has come down to for the Bucs?

Interestingly, Joe hasn’t heard a peep about Mike Glennon.

Glennon would be a perfect option if Schiano was our offensive coordinator…

I keep saying, by the time it would take a new QB to learn the system, Arains will have retired. Bring in a vet like Turdisky, and you’ll be taking away snaps for Trask, Gabbert too. Trask really didn’t get many game reps last year, he’ll need all he can get this off season. Bringing in another vet, and giving him a chance to compete will only stunt Trask’s growth. It’s going to be Trask, Gabbert, Griff, and a 4th rookie arm for camp. No Turds, Jimmy, or Teddy’s. Who we bringing in next Joe?

The death of a thousand cuts. It all comes back to Gabbert.

  4. Bruce Blahak Says:

Trubisky and make it 3 deep at QB. Competition is good.

  5. Cleanhouse Says:

Bring back Ryan Griffin…always wanted to see the guy play

If nothing else, he could provide comedy relief:

    “No risk it, no Trubiskit.”

I’d be happy with Fitz, but I’m pretty sure BAC hates his guts

  8. Captain Oblivious Says:

Why do I always hear this talk about the difficulty of QBs learning BA’s offence? From what I’ve seen the offence consists of about 10 very predictable plays with 2 or 3 trick plays mixed in during the season (which mostly loose yardage). What am I missing here?

  9. Cobraboy Says:

    Trubiskit, LOL…

  10. LJS4th Says:

Give Trask a chance he has been in the offense for a year which he was helped to become a pro by the GOAT. Look at the other QB rookies from last year only one had a winning season, so Trask has a learning year now let him play.

Trubisky will probably beat the Bucs this coming year twice. He may end up going to the playoffs. With Brady gone, get used to losing.

  12. Rod Munch Says:

Why in the world would anyone want this no-talent loser?

  13. Joe Says:

Why in the world would anyone want this no-talent loser?

Because the QB those teams have is a worse no-talent loser.

    Colin is better than these.
