Drew Rosenhaus: No Bucs Contract Awaiting Rob Gronkowski

March 28th, 2022

NFL superagent Drew Rosenhaus

As the Bucs await Rob Gronkowski’s decision on whether he wants to play in 2022, his agent says there is no Tampa Bay contract waiting for him to sign.

Joe talked to superagent Drew Rosenhaus this morning at the NFL owners meetings in sunny Palm Beach. While Rosenhaus said last week that Gronk remains unsure he wants to continue his NFL career, Rosenhaus clarified for Joe that there is no Bucs contract agreed to by both parties and ready to be locked up if Gronk gives a green light.

Rosenhaus said he and the Bucs have no agreement and they’ll resume talks after (if?) Gronk decides to play.

The good news is Joe got no vibe from Rosenhaus that Gronk really wants out of the game. He also added that other teams are interested in the Hall of Fame tight end.

I take that as Gronk saying “ Show me yours and I’ll show you mine”

  2. Ed Kerber Says:

    Just my guess.

but i think some of this has to do with the post June 1 cuts. After June 1 contracts can be signed (and Gronk can miss all the OTA’s). win-win-win

  3. Bojim Says:

It’s up to Gronk but I’m pretty sure he’ll be back.

  4. sasquatch Says:

This is no issue. Why make an offer if the guy doesn’t know yet. Sounds like there’s an open line of communication and the Bucs have made it clear they want him and will make a contract work.

Bucs need to draft a TE on Day 2 regardless.

  5. Allbuccedup Says:

Bucs need to pursue another free agent tight end I mean they only have Brate they could use two more. Drafting a tight end is not an option BA doesn’t like to develop young offensive players ie Trask and Vaughn.

  6. BucsnBolts Says:

Sure, sure. See you at camp, Gronk.

  7. sasquatch Says:

    ^^poppycock

  8. Alanbucsfan Says:

If Gronk were signing with team other than Bucs, he would’ve already done so.

  9. BuxfaninTX Says:

Just driving the interest in his client

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Has ASJ sobered up?……or, can Hainsey catch the ball?…….we need TEs…..

This is a non issue here….no contract offered……not surprised.

  11. SB~LV Says:

The Bucs will be the first to begin stashing unsigned players ( retired) until the last 1/3 of the season when the old former greats will get of their couches and return for the real season Suh / Gronk

  12. Bucfan81 Says:

Gronk is not going to play with anyone but Brady. So he either plays for Tampa or he doesn’t play at all. My bet is he plays and they are just waiting on the Bucs sign everyone they need to. Then Brady will rework his contract to free up money for Gronk.

  13. Trey Long Says:

Gronk plays w Tom or he doesn’t play at all.

  14. Robert Says:

I like fan81’s take. sounds about right

  15. New England Patriots Fan Says:

this is about cap space on tampa right now. Why sign Gronk when you can get a DT DE or RB or WR. Gronk gets signed when every last penny is spent on maximizing the the season, and Brady reups making space for Gronk and his friend Edelmann to join on friendly deals.

  16. Mike Johnson Says:

Show me the money honey. Gronk to the Bills.

  17. Cobraboy Says:

    Just rumors and drama.

Gronkowski won’t play with anyone but Brady. He knows it, Brady knows it, Licht & BA know it.

    There is no rush.

It’s not about money or Gronk’s hometown.

  18. TBfan Says:

Gronk isn’t coming back…and Brady is retired. I have this bridge in Brooklyn I’m looking to sell too.

  19. BUCman Says:

This is just agent talk. Gronk 💯 percent will be back. He and the Bucs have an understanding . Maybe there is not a written contract waiting to be signed but they have a verbal understanding for sure. Just letting the Bucs work on other critical signings along with work on the salary cap. They would not just sit on the sidelines and not even look at TE’s in free agency unless they know they already have that covered. There is no point in asking his agent because you can’t believe anything an agent says. This is a non story!

  20. HOF68 Says:

Why even interview that clown? Whatever he says is pure spin.

  21. Mickman Says:

Second nature to Drew, everything he says is a lie. Does anyone for a second think Gronk is not gonna be a buc?
My guess is drew has no offers because 31 teams know it is a wasted effort, he is staying with Brady!

  22. Joseph C Simmons Says:

When I see that picture, all I can think of is, “Next question!”

  23. Pewter Power Says:

This offense didn’t need a prolific tight end with Winston so the only one who seems to need it badly is Brady. If Bucs gave him a higher salary than last year he would have already signed. He’s wanted not needed

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

They don’t have to make him an offer. He’ll decide after a few mini camps are done, but the truth is that he’ll play for whatever the Bucs can offer him. It’s not about the money.

  25. David Says:

He’ll play. He’s resting, healing, it’ll work out. As for Drew Rosenhaus, I wouldn’t believe a single thing that man says, ever.

  26. Marla Fowler Says:

Everybody saying he plays with Brady or not at all lol. Except Gronkowski himself said he’d like to play with Burrow, if not Brady. So oops lol.

  27. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Marla Fowler – That was when Brady said he was retiring… And just cuz he says he would like to play with Burrow doesn’t mean he’s literally saying that , he was just giving him a compliment.. Everyone in New England and here in the Tampa Bay area know that Gronk will be with the Bucs this year. We know how to read Gronk and he already said he is just making Brady sweat it out like Brady did to him . He’s in Tampa working out at the Bucs facility and this is just a non issue. Don’t know why this is even being talked about. Go Bucs

  28. james thweatt Says:

Gronk isn’t going anywhere he and Brady are best friends. He had a chance to leave New England and didn’t budge. Money is not an issue ,. Dam the guy makes more doing TV promotions and Shoe Ads. 😂😂

  29. Mark W Klobedanz Says:

Lived in CT. My whole life and grew up a Pat’s fan moved to Florida in 2020 and low and behold my 2 favorite players end up on the Bucs and the rest is history. Bucs need to drop the Bucks on Gronk just as much for his blocking ability as his ability to step up on the big stage. You want another Super Bowl Bucs then sign a proven winner that knows how to win the big games!!!

  30. brooks Says:

We don’t need him he’s old he needs to retire and enjoy his life
