Bruce Arians Didn’t Seem Stressed About The Offensive Line

March 4th, 2022

Confident in offensive line.

Of course, Joe already wrote about Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians’ reaction while in Indianapolis this week during the combine. He has a battle plan to replace recently retired Ali Marpet.

Later Tuesday, Arians faced a throng of national NFL reporters and the subject of Marpet’s retirement came up again. Arians doesn’t seem too stressed about it at all.

Of course, losing Marpet hurts. He was one of the best offensive linemen in the game. But with his departure, Marpet’s leftover salary can go towards efforts to keep Ryan Jensen, Alex Cappa and Aaron Stinnie. So the Bucs, in theory, could keep their available offensive line intact.

“We can’t replace the player, but if we can get back Ryan [Jensen], Alex [Cappa] and [Aaron] Stinnie – they all played together,” Arians said. “Nick Leverett played too. We went through seven or eight offensive linemen this year. Those five guys were ironmen for most of the year until January, but I think we’re fine there.”

If there is a unit where Joe most trusts Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht, it is the offensive line.

Think about it: In the offseason of 2015, the Bucs offensive line was brutal, downright brutal. Licht told the pathetic starting left tackle, Anthony Collin,s to go home and not come back the previous December. Garrett “Whoops” Gilkey and Oniel Cousins were run off as well. And in six seasons beginning with that 2015 draft, the Bucs flipped from maybe the worst offensive line into the league’s best.

So if the Bucs and Licht need to fill a hole or two this spring on the offensive line, Joe has confidence Licht can find worthy replacements.

No pressure on the Bucs at all this year.

Why should the Bucs Coattail riding coach Succo Bruce Arrogance be stressed? It they play well he will take the credit, and if they play bad, he will blame the players and throw them under the bus like he always does.

Bruce appreciates everyday he is alive and loves Coaching football. He knows the personal battles with health he has had. Why would he be stressed? He is thankful to do what he loves.
He has assembled a good Coaching staff. Like when he got to the Bucs in Jan of 2019 and hired the largest staff, and he also uses multiple football fields so everyone is able to get reps in. Not like a lot teams do with their players that do not start, where they are just standing around so much, but theback up players are actually being coached and practicing.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

Re-sign Jensen. Cappa, Stinnie, acquire D. Watson, draft RB in rd 2

Got to be sober to be stressed.

To me it’s all about signing Jensen and at least one of the guards. That gives them 4 really good starters out of 5 which puts them in a better position than probably 27 teams in the NFL.

I am more concerned about the D line. SUH, JPP, Gholston, are all free agents and we’re not sure if any are worth bringing back for their production level this past year and their age and what they’re going to want as far as money.

I would love Gholston back. I would like JPP back for 1 to 2 years if, big if, he is healthy and will take a pay cut.
As far as SUH, great locker room presence but he showed nothing on the field last year.

I think JTS and Nelson are going to see a rotation at one end while Nacho and another rookie D lineman see a lot of time at DT.

I don’t think you experience stress when you’re comatose. Are we forgetting the communication Brady had with his line and they followed his direction? It’s amazing how many of you believe this team can achieve at a high level with the absence of Brady, Gronk, AB, Marpet. Do you realize how much pre AB melt down these guys contributed? Are we to believe BA crosses his arms and blinks and Bucs win the south? 6-11 at best then BA retires a loser, full exposure.

I feel sure that Jensen, Cappa & Stinnie will be resigned. Also need to resign Lenny.

Listnfrmafar is right. It is no coincidence that bruce arrogance best year was when he was furthest away from the team.

It confirms some of the rumors of players calling the coach, “bruce absent”

The only time pressure was getting to the Oline was the Rams games and the saints games.

  11. New England Patriots Fan Says:

Joe can you write a article on the combine for each position group with stats, measurables, 40 times and draft projections etc especially for OL and WR as Tampa gonna need to draft at least one interior guy and a weapon.

Also after day 2 the QB projections went from 2 in first round to up to 5 so Tampa may even be drafting a QB last first round like a Desmond Ridder, Matt Coral and Sam Howel.
