Tom Brady’s Incalculable Worth To Bucs

March 30th, 2022

Pied piper.

How quickly perception and reality can change with the click of a mouse.

Some three weeks ago, famed JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman said as free agency approached, the Bucs were “peering into the abyss,” while “Good Morning Football” co-host and closet Bucs fan Peter Schrager said on NFL Network the Bucs were on the “eve of destruction.”

That flipped when Brady clicked on “Share” and “Tweet” announcing to the world he was coming back to the Bucs.

Like a pied piper, free agents soon fell in line. Ryan Jensen and Carlton Davis jumped back on the Bucs bandwagon almost immediately. Russell Gage quickly followed and before you knew it, the Bucs are nearly intact from last year, save for five starters. In any year, good or bad team, that is extraordinary.

Yes, a lot changed on that otherwise sleepy Sunday night when Tom Brady sent his famous social media bat signal.

The Bucs have put together a cool video of how things fell into place because of Brady. The video actually gets Joe fired up.

“You can’t really put into words… what Tom Brady means to this team,” Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said in the video, almost with a hint of relief in his voice.

Simply put, Brady means everything to the Bucs. At least Joe thinks so.

    Agreed @Daren. Would love that.

  8. Listnfrmafar Says:

Plus he doesn’t break the bank and hinder the team by sucking up a large percentage of the salary cap like the reining MVP joke does.

  9. Craig Says:

Yes, give him a chunk of the pie, let him go into management.

Brady raised this team to a level unseen by most NFL teams. Could you imagine any other Bucs team that could develop a promising QB for two or three years?

Trask is the person getting the most out of the new Bucs, aside from SB rings for players and playoff and SB possibilities for fans and management.

Rogers sat for 4 years, and see what it did for him, now think of Trask in such a situation, it mean a dynasty in the making.

They should give him a piece of the Bucs or Manchester or whatever he may want in a few years after he retires; he is solely responsible for the Bucs franchise increasing in value. The Bucs were on the verge of going back to YUCS until Tahmmy showed up. Jameis Winston led the bucs back into a laughing stock and 12 comes round and changes all of the that.

  11. MJ Says:

    TB12 is the man! LFG!!!

  12. Brent Clark Says:

When he truly retires in 5 years (Hopefully) the Glazers need to sell him a piece of the Bucs at a hometown discount for not gouging them to stay on as long as he can and wants, could there be any greater ambassador to the Bucs or any NFL team or any sport. That’s exactly what I would do if I was in charge, pretty much guaranteed relevance and an iconic move as long as the Bucs are in existence!

  13. Oneilbuc Says:

Of course Brady means a lot to this team and franchise because they can raise ticket prices and put more money in their pockets! ! Why don’t they give us a discount on the ticket prices because we been supporting the franchise even when they were losing? That’s a good fan appreciations because now we a winning team!! But they ain’t because they only care about the money they are making more than the fans!!

  14. PSK Bucs Fan Says:

    LFG!

  15. Eddie Marz Says:

Bucs always had talent, but they didn’t know how to translate that into winning games. Brady does. Now they can rock the NFL again and win another Super Bowl. GOBUCS!

  16. SOEbuc Says:

    IN THE CURRENT PREMIERE TONIGHT!!!

  17. Tackleblockwin Says:

Joe, knowing how important Brady is to the Bucs becoming a legitimate contender, is it possible Bucs ownership offers him a percentage of ownership when he retires? This topic has come up before, but is it nonsense or a possibility? Secondly, Brady is addicted to the game. I can’t see him fully walking away from some type of involvement with football once his QB days are done. What are your thoughts?

  18. Rod Munch Says:

The fact Brady won’t sign a 5-year extension is PROOF that he hates Arians, hates Tampa, hates Licht and wants OUT NOW!

TB12 is the best thing to ever happen to the Bucs. TBH, after he retired I felt very similar feelings as when I was 9 and my parents told me out of nowhere that they were getting a divorce. So yeah, it hurtbad and I was not prepared for it as a Bucs fan. I however will always love and be thankful for TB12. I bet the people who posted hating him after he retired felt pretty stupid when he came back.
