Handicappers Like Jimmy Garoppolo To Bucs

February 4th, 2022

Handicappers offer odds.

In the minds of handicappers monitoring the NFL, it’s a three-way tie for where San Francisco quarterback Jimmy GQ will play next season.

Those three teams are the Steelers, the Commandos and your Tampa Bay Bucs, per NBC Sports Edge.

Jimmy GQ is on his way out of San Francisco short of something terrible happening to Trey Lance.

Joe thinks the Bucs can do worse. People troll Joe on Twitter about Gardner Minshew, if you can imagine. People also have floated Drew Lock at Joe. Good grief! That fool dumped a billionairess beauty queen who will someday own an NFL team, imagine the idiotic decisions this guy makes on the field.

If Lock was decent at all, Vic Fangio might still be working.

    Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !

    Deshaun or Trask for me

    GoBucs!

  2. 1sparkybuc Says:

No doubt John Lynch still loves the Bucs, but he won’t do us any favors. Pittsburg is in the other conference. They get Jimmy.

  3. HC Grover Says:

    Let The Commrades have him.

  4. Bobby M. Says:

JG is a great test for Trask, I think he’s shown he can manage different offenses and find ways to win. The problem with JG is what he’s accomplished has been with superior coaches. McDaniels is far better of an OC then Leftwich, obviously Belichick trumps Arians. Shanahan also waaaaay better than Leftwich….probably a modern day version of Arians.

  5. Bob in valrico Says:

Jimmy G will command too high a salary, IMO. Not sure how good he really is. He has benefitted from a coach with a very good offensive mind ,a good running game and an imposing defense in his time with 49’ers. He made some Josh McCown like plays at the end of his last game. But if the pitch that ended the game was successful it could have changed the outcome of the game.

  6. WillieG Says:

Andrew Luck is going to come out of retirement to play for BA and with our O line and receivers. Cameron Jordon will be so impressed, he will take a team friendly deal to play here.

  7. Buczilla Says:

I don’t want this above average grossly overpaid dude over Trask.

  8. Buc Unto Death Says:

JG should be considered. We need a game manager. we have the coaches to help him succeed while Trask develops. Plus, we wont have to pay a king’s ransom to get him, decimating other areas of strength.

Bucs need to be sensible about this move.

  9. Me Bean Says:

Jimmy G is the most talented QB with the highest potential of the QBs that might be available (except for Rogers and perhaps Russel). His ability to read defenses is second to none. Strong arm (contrary to how he was used in SF) and accurate. The problem is that he is flawed. When he is rattled, in the heat of the moment he gets tunnel vision. He doesn’t have the ability to continue processing information. Instead he panics. Even being injury prone is the result of this – in those moments he even lacks the self awareness to protect himself. But when he is calm he can be great. It is all mental. Some rookies have that same issue and grow out if it – Jimmy G never did. If he can get help to fix that he may be one of the greatest QBs.

  10. Biff Barker Says:

TB was right when he said “they’re gonna stick with that guy”.

Lynch would have won a SB, maybe 2.

  11. CChead Says:

JG would be in the Superbowl if not for Shanahan. He only got Debo the ball 1 time in the 4th quarter with a 10 point lead. Shanahan choked this game away as well as the Falcons Super Bowl. Shanahan has a loosing record as a head coach. He is overrated. On the other hand JG has a winning recoerd. All he does is win.

  12. Capt.Tim Says:

I like Jimmy G to the Bucs also!

  13. Tbbucs3 Says:

Jimmy G will be the Bucs starting quarterback in 2022.

  14. Show Me the TDs Says:

If Jimmy G signs with the WTF Commanders he’s an idiot. They are stuck in perennial mediocrity. I don’t live directly in DC, but very close. This entire area is a complete dump.

  15. Lamarcus Says:

So Jimmy G is willing to be in Brady shadow again? Naw man. Who thinks like this?

  16. Mark Alsott Says:

I think if you make a move for a veteran QB, you go with whoever gives you the best chance at getting back to the Super Bowl. While Jimmy G does win games, my issue is that he can’t stay healthy. Since arriving in San Fran, hes played 46 of a possible 81 games. If the veteran route is what Licht and BA decide to do, and you want Trask to mature/learn from successful QB, is Jimmy G the guy you want Trask sitting behind? I’d like to see what Trask has to offer, other than the end of preseason games, throwing to 4th and 5th team guys who won’t be here once the season starts. I think Licht/BA should make a legit run at Wilson or Rodgers.

  17. David Says:

I know he has won but that’s mostly because of a defense. Personally I’d rather go with Kyle Trask because I don’t think he could be any worse. Jimmy G is average at best. If you’ve watched the playoff games this year with him, San Fran won a couple games despite him trying his best to make throws that were destined to be picked off.

  18. Swampbuc Says:

While it’s true that Grappleblow will handicap whichever team the schlub signs with, he would drag down the Bucs to a greater degree than the other teams because the other teams have Ron Rivera and Mike Tomlin, both guys who know how to cover an opponent’s best weapon especially with 42 seconds remaining.

  19. MadMax Says:

Im alright with Jimmy G……just please no 1.1 mill jw

  20. SKBucsFan Says:

Commandos. I saw what you did there. Lol

We don’t need Jimmy G. Kyle Trask has the tools and OLine to succeed. He doesn’t run around like a chicken with his head cut off. Nor will he need to. We are already better off than where we were before TB12.

  21. Ed Kerber Says:

NO on Watson. I don’t think he will play. Cost to acquire is too high as well. Ginny G if price is not too high. A C-grade QB needs a better D. Hell, Tom Brady needed a better D in his last game. Get the D fixed first. Then take Gardner for a year. Draft a QB in 2023 if Trask doesn’t beat out Gardner!

  22. Hodad Says:

He’s just not a fit for this system. Arains like a big pocket passer that can push the ball down field. Does that sound like Jimmy? The 49ers passed like twenty times a game last year, the Bucs close to fifty. Again, does that sound like a good fit? He’s not coming here.

  23. Tom Sumner Says:

    Garoppoloooooooooooooo

  24. steele Says:

Fangio, not a good judge of QBs, simply hates Lock for reasons that go beyond football, including a mask mandate that Lock apparently did not adhere to. Fangio mad excuses for Bridgewater’s miserable performances, while looking for any reason to bench Lock.

No one is saying Lock is the next coming, but he has starting caliber tools. He has not been given a chance in Denver, where things have been in disarray two seasons in a row. Free the man, let him prove himself.

  25. steele Says:

Please don’t wish for Jittery G. You think “you can do worse”? There isn’t much worse than total collapse, like clockwork, in the face of pressure. The bigger the moment, the more likely Jittery will desperately toss the football into the air better than Stephen Curry, in the arms of a defender.

Of all of these QBs, only Jittery does this.

In any normal period, you should be able to do CONSIDERABLY BETTER than Jittery G. But this is not a normal period. Jittery is one of a long list of awful choices.

If not a Russell Wilson or a Rodgers, go youth. Draft Pickett or Corral, roll with Trask, and lower expectations.

  26. Captain Dan Lawrence Says:

Since Jonny, and James, I’d say you lost your QB evaluation card.
