The Greatest Bucs Quarterback Season

January 9th, 2022

Bucs QB Tom Brady.

All hail the king. All hail Tom Brady!

The old man 44-year old quarterback just had the best (regular) season of any signal-caller in Bucs history. Brady finished with 5,316 passing yards. Not only is that the most in team history, breaking the previous record held by Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, but that was the third-most passing yards in a season by any NFL quarterback.

Further, Brady set a franchise record tonight with 43 touchdown passes. Brady also led the NFL in completions.

Joe is going to yell this so much he is going to grow hoarse and freak out the neighbors. C’mon, say it with Joe:

M…V… P! … M…V… P! … M…V… P! … M…V… P! … M…V… P!

Brady sure should be your NFL Most Valuable Player this season. He did this losing so many receivers he was down to the immortal Cyril Grayson and Tyler Johnson.

It sure as hell isn’t Jonathan Taylor (nice choke job there, Colts).

As glad as I am that he surpassed JayMiss’s record it did take Brady one extra game to do it right?

  2. Kansas95Buc Says:

Let’s go Bucs!! Now to take down the Eagles

  3. Buc1987 Says:

He deserves it this year…but perhaps he might have to wait til next season.

  4. Oxycodoms Says:

No disrespect to eagles but whats bracket look like who would be 2nd round opponent

  5. MadMax Says:

I remember it like yesterday, calling on here for “Brady, Brady, Brady” in I think november or december of that season. Had a few join me but I was called crazy by many. Look at us now baby!

  6. geno711 Says:

So happy we have Brady. Not just because the stats that are pointed out by the Athletic but because of his almost perfect culture as the QB leader of the team.

  7. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard has a Santeria-style shrine dedicated to the holy one

If all home teams win in the 1st round, I believe the Bucs will play at home against Dallas in the 2nd round.

  10. Rod Munch Says:

I will say it again, it is stunning what he is doing.

Think back to the guys who were 42, 43, 44 years old still paying, they looked like old men that could barely move. The one that stands out is seeing Vinny Testaverde with the Panthers when he came in at 44, he looks ancient, so incredibly slow. He still had a big arm, but he also took longer to wind up. To see Brady out there, looking like a normal pocket passer, tons of zip on the ball, moving around the pocket, sidestepping and ducking under guys on the blitz, it’s just so insanely impressive.

    MVP MVP MVP MVP!

  13. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard is just lucky to have shared this Earth at the same time as the infinite Brady. Howard looks to the Great One for motivation in diet, attitude, health and success. we are truly blessed

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

After a slow start, Brady played a fantastic game………and Gronk & Evans were twin beasts.

  15. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Jameis Winston could never…

  16. SufferingSince76 Says:

Hey, Cleanhouse! 5316 yards and 43 TDs. So much for your boy. 😆

    Who is Jameis Winston?

  19. Bucdup08 Says:

    What day do we play?

  20. SufferingSince76 Says:

And don’t give us that 17 game crap.

  21. JimmyJack Says:

Tom Brady just capped off the best season in Bucs history.

I say he leads us into a NFC Championship with 2 home games and we got a 50/50 chance its 3 home games.

  22. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Ya really got to give it up to TB 12. Those of us in great shape who are older still can’t believe what this 44 year old is doing!

  23. Snoman Says:

Brady deserves this years MVP. He earned it through lots of adversity with the Covid absences and all the i juries on both sides of the ball. To see what he is doing at 44 is mind blowing.

  24. cmurda Says:

Personal best for Brady in yards for the season also right?

  25. JimmyJack Says:

With Brady we our team doesnt dominate the Jets with 50 points.

With Winston we are mad our QB just melted doen and threw pick number 5.

  26. Joe in Michigan Says:

As Swampbuc pointed out, I called Brady “over the hill” when the Bucs signed him. I’ve never been so glad to be wrong about something. I call a truce, Swampbuc, and thank you for the humble pie.
A rookie from University of Michigan (Niners Ambry Thomas) helped the Bucs go into the playoffs as the number 2 seed, and also knocked the Saints out of the playoffs with his interception in OT. Hopefully, hopefully the Bucs will get key players on defense back for the playoffs.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

Bird was Orlbonkersfan on the live thread talking shyte about Brady again?

  28. DBS Says:

MadMax. Wasn’t it you who was on here saying we we totally finished. Lost over and done.so forget it for the playoffs. Or words to that effect?

  29. JA Says:

And some of you want to get rid of him.
Might want to follow A.B. down the tunnel marked TOO DUMB TO LIVE.
I’m sure you’ll all get along just fine …

  30. Buc1987 Says:

B-ird….was Orlbonkersfan on the live thread talking shyte about Brady again?

  31. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Brady does deserve MVP. Let’s see if he can overtake Rodgers. At least we know he has Hub’s vote!

  32. Francisco Guzman Says:

Brady is gonna get the mvp. I don’t know if like that. I like it when he doesn’t get all these awards and he does his work quietly.

  33. StevyBell Says:

    GOAT IS GOAT

  34. Rod Munch Says:

2 years, a SB, the #2 seed, and you still have people crying about Winston?

Talk about your psycho ex that just can’t let go.

  35. Lesko_Brandon Says:

Stop mentioning Brady’s name alongside the other guy….. it’s so insulting to TB12.. 👍

  36. Rod Munch Says:

I hope Brady gets the MVP, I got hundreds of dollars riding on it.

  37. Listnfrmafar Says:

Where you at oralb not bad.for I fossil and oneilbucyall and the rest if you haters? Don’t sleep on the Eagles, short memories last I remember they came back and gave Bucs a little scare, plus they rested their players this week. How about Roger’s, wants to play for MVP, sees their losing and leaves the game so Love takes the loss. You sure you want him as a Buc?

  38. Bird Says:

    1987

Yah dude. Go back and check. She hates brady. He was a “fossil” tonight

The dude has gronk and evans who get a lot of doubles
A ton of backups after that …grayson goes down. Perriman too
    Its all good though
    3rd running back

Brady is the man! And he comes to this losing franchise. And all they do is win win win no matter what. And you got peeps that hate him
    😂

  39. FrankPillow Says:

Legendary stuff from the GOAT. What a crazy season. So much to overcome. So many expectations. 13-4 was unthinkable when I was a kid and for most of my kids’ lives too. This might just be the GOAT’s finest hour.

  40. Lesko_Brandon Says:

I hope Brady comes back next season.

  41. StevyBell Says:

We need to talk about SPEED DEMON Scotty Miller’s TD!!! Holy Gawd, why is this dude not used more???? That dude is lightning!!!!

  42. Lets GO Bucs! Says:

Did Brady and Gron hit all their regular season incentives? Also, can Bucs pickup a free agent WR before playoffs?

  43. Francisco Guzman Says:

Rod Munch I don’t like the mvp of brady. He doesn’t care about that stuff. He would trade it in for a run at the playoffs.

  44. Youngbucs Says:

If Brady plays next season he will be the all time td leader in Bucs history. Only 3 seasons to do it lol 3>5.

  45. Bucfan Says:

I agree Joe, Brady deserves to be MVP this year and it shouldn’t even be up for debate.

  46. Allan Hurst Says:

    Thank you Joe’s.

    Most yards
    Most completions
Highest average passing yards per game
    Most 300+ yard games
    Tied for most wins
Harder schedule and better quality victories
    Most dropped touchdown passes
Most yards by guys added to a starting roster after the beginning of the season
Most missed time due to injury by key players on both sides
Take a close look at common opponents: Saints, Rams, Bears. Brady’s numbers are better.

Rodgers knew he didn’t deserve it and that’s why he played the first half against the Lions and tried to coach the Pack to victory in the second half he had to maintain that league best win total but he couldn’t do it.

The MVP is not awarded to the most talented but rather the most important. Brady overcame so much. Too much to list. I respect Rodgers for not getting vaxx’d but he also lied about it and also whined his way through the off-season. It cost him one game. An important game against the Chiefs.
Do you see Brady ever doing that?
    Brady is the MVP.
    Bang the drum folks.
    Drown out the media bias.
Brady is the League MVP if ever there was one.

  47. MadMax Says:

Yeah DBS, hugely disappointed and that mindset was temporary, a self medicated pessimist to get me through….but I forgot we’re dealing with TB12 who runs things like a master when it comes to late game comebacks…..i mean it was the Jets, could you blame me? lol. And we were missing key players on D….yep.

  48. Greg Says:

I say stop the age stuff as he has clearly put up an elite season and he competing like and better than the “younger” guys age is a number to him and not and encumbrance!

  49. Dew Says:

Brady also tied GB for most wins this season. Add that to his MVP argument.

  50. Rod Munch Says:

Francisco – I don’t care if Brady cares about the MVP, my wallet cares about Brady winning MVP.

Although, with that said, I cleaned up on Brady winning the passing and TD title.

Now if we can just get a Pats vs Buccaneers SB… there’s some big money there for me.

  51. Infomeplease Says:

    MVP. MVP. MVP. MVP !!!!!!!!!!!

  52. lunchmeat Says:

    Brady or Rodgers?
To be honest, Rodgers is a better QB.
But I remember the Bucs before he showed up.
Are the Packers “Rodgers’ team” the way the Bucs are “Brady’s team”?
    I do not think so.

  53. D-Rome Says:

Brady is the record holder. End of discussion. There will not be any asterisk used for any records set this season. Brady’s exceptional season puts Jay-Miss’ disgraceful 5 years far in the rear view mirror.

  54. Listnfrmafar Says:

Lunch meat, how is Roger’s a better QB? He has won virtually nothing. As many SB’s as Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer. He has no records and doesn’t rank in top 5 QB’s in anything. What am I missing?

  55. David Says:

    DOOSH

    LOL

Jameis also threw 30 interceptions compared to Brady‘s 12. Yep Brady did it in more games and more attempts but I am 100% positive I will take Brady all day every day in every game ever played over Jameis Winston

  56. Irishmist Says:

I hope Rogers gets MVP. If we have to go to Green Bay for the championship I want Brady as motivated as possible.

  57. Canabuc Says:

Yes it took him an extra game to do it minus the time he was pulled in thi sand other games when out to huge lead which was probably about 3 or so quarters of football.
So not much of a difference. Plus they played with more leads so less garbage time stat padding.
If he doesn’t win MVP over Lying Aaron Rodgers this thing is fixed.

  58. John Collins Says:

As TB says he is still improving

  59. Izod Says:

The records are great, but they all took one extra game.

I wonder if Winston had broken records using an extra game if he would’ve been given equal credit? Sure that guy is gone now, and nobody is going to miss all the turnovers and bad decisions. However, to be fair, he had more big plays, yards per pass attempt, and downfield pass completions than anyone we’ve ever had.

  60. LakelandSteve Says:

So we got the 1:00 pm Sunday game. It would have sucked had we gotten one of the Saturday games or even Monday night game. Philly is not going to roll over for us they are going to play hard and we are going to have to play a complete game to beat them.

  61. Cleanhouse Says:

    Suffering since 76-

Gotta give props to Brady. He’s the king!!
