Tackle!

January 3rd, 2022

Bad fundamentals Sunday.

Sometimes, some NFL analysts try to make football sound like calculus.

Cover-2, Cover-1, Cover-your arse, Cover-this, Cover-that, 11-personnel, 12-personnel, 69-personnel, whatever. You get the drift.

What football boils down to, at its core, is blocking and tackling. Always has. Always will. You can draw up the prettiest play on a whiteboard or a Powerpoint, and without blocking that same screen display will look like a dog tried to paint on it.

The same on defense. A coach can have the most confusing, mind-blowing defensive scheme known to man. If your defenders cannot tackle, it doesn’t matter.

Earlier today in his day-after presser, Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said tackling was why the Jets moved the ball so well on the Bucs. Or more to the point, not tackling.

It also showed, Arians said, how big the void is in the defense without Lavonte David.

“More of it was just flat missed tackles – the 55-yard run should have been a no gain,” Arians said of the Bucs’ defensive struggles yesterday. “The other 20-yarder we had them for a loss, but just make better tackles.”

Tackling is much less an issue when David is on the field, Arians noted.

“But yeah, you can’t replace Lavonte. He is one of a kind.”

This is what gives Joe hope. David was just rounding back into form from his sprained ankle earlier in the year when he hurt his foot. And the defense was beginning to play so well.

Joe is starting to think Devin White is a little bit lost without David playing alongside.

A good defense always gives a team a chance. We saw that first-hand in the 1999 playoffs. Now the Bucs on offense aren’t grossly overmatched like that Bucs team was. But with solid if not strong defensive play, maybe the Bucs can get by without Chris Godwin and furniture-tossing, bicycle-winging, tantrum-throwing quitter Antonio Brown.

Brady and his magic paired with a strong defense could be just enough.

  1. Listnfrmafar Says:

Sorry I can’t stand this guy, let’s state the obvious. Are there any coaches on this staff thT can teach tackling drill? No doubt in my mind he provoked AB. Lit the match that set off the wild fire.

  2. Buc4evr Says:

Did both, football was a lot harder than calculus. Trying to understand the psychology of AB is harder than anything.

  3. buxxWun Says:

As the great, late Vince LOMBARDI stated. . . grabbing, grabbing, grabbing nobody tackling out here.

  4. Capt Kidd Says:

Anyone that blames the coach for AB’s craziness is part of the problem in our society. AB has no business being in the NFL ever again. He’s had way too many chances and too many excuses.

  5. Bucc941 Says:

Just like Tomlin, B.B and Gruden lit the match before Arians? The dude is cancer.

  6. HC Grover Says:

    Sounds like John McKay.

  7. crazyBucs_CL Says:

@”…Anyone that blames the coach for AB’s craziness is part of the problem in our society….”
    ————–
Society!!!??? what society you talking about. We live in a capitalist society, where $$$$$ is everything, in our case Win Win Win.
Sean Payton won a SB, put a bounty on opponents players (different prices for different positions….kind a horses), and still is respected in NFL, and is considered one of the best coaches out there. Society… pffff.
AB said he is hurt, BA did not believed him. He wanted him to play cause DC Tooooddd screwed up, and BA wanted to cover with O scores.
If you say at your work you dont feel good, they send you home. Right.
They don’t force you to work.
    Society Crap!

  8. JimmyJack Says:

I agree that the Bucs can still be a force to be reckoned with on offense because we have the blocking. The OL is the one area of this team that hasent been hampered with injuries…….Give me Brady and good blicking in front and I like our chanses.

The defense is the bigger concern for me. Can David get back? Shaq? JPP?………Right now the defense is a big if. No guarantee we get any of them guys back……though I would bet money JPP is out there for the playoffs. That dude is just a different breed.

  9. Ben green Says:

Amen Listn, tackling is about coaches getting after your ass to tackle, and tackle properly. Ben sees a lot of olay. Tackling is a lot like defense in the NBA, it takes effort and technique. When’s the last time these guys actually practiced and honed the technique. It’s clear to Ben that most of these guys have tuned out the coaching staff

  10. JimmyJack Says:

@Listfrmafar and crazyBucs_CL………Can you two idiots sweep the ants of your pants and wait 5 measley minutes for Joe to put up a new Antio Brown article…….Some of us actually wanna talk about the non-tabloid news with the Bucs.

But if really cannot control youselfs and cant excercise more patience never an average toddler there is an article a few pages back you can vent on in your crusade to excuse Antinio Brown for straight-jacket-worthy behavior.

  11. Destinjohnny Says:

Think AB was pissed at TB12
    They were gettting into it
    On Ig, he unfollowed Tom
    No other player

  12. Joseph C Simmons Says:

I really hope we get the #2 seed. But if we do, it probably means we play the Niners, which is NOT a good match for us. They can rush the passer with four, and Shanahan absolutely will not give up on running the ball.

If we get by the Niners, we probably avoid the Rams as they’d end up losing to Green Bay in Green Bay again.

And I’d must rather play the Pack in Green Bay than play the Rams in LA. Green bay may be a better team, but we match up real well with them. Not so the Rams.

  13. Bucs&Bolts Says:

It’s gonna be mike and the track guys for the playoffs, should be awesome CG, BP, Miller, but them all out there that be dangerous with gronk sneaking around

  14. PassingThru Says:

For what it’s worth, Antonio Brown wasn’t cut today. I was waiting for that 4PM paperwork to weave through the Park Avenue offices. It never arrived.

My guess is that the Bucs will not waive AB as they don’t want another playoff team (Green Bay, LA Rams, KC) to sign him.

  15. Casual Observer Says:

Our tackling problem was apparent in the pre-season. Should have been addressed by now. Better tackle it this week.

  16. Cobraboy Says:

    Coach Obvious.

Tackling has been a serious issue the entire season.

  17. Ben green Says:

If it’s not evident to rational fans that this team needs a coaching change from top to bottom, then you can’t be helped

  18. Ben green Says:

He’s no longer a buc, is different than he’s been released from his contractual control. If they do release him, any team that picks him up would be insane

  19. Jmarkbuc Says:

Aren’t we running out of season to get these tackling issues “cleaned up”?

Crazybucs_cl… you need to go with AB to his Dr appointment and get yourself some meds too…

  20. Beeej Says:

Rams or Packers would sign, put him on practice squad, pump him for info. As for Niners being a bad matchup, Jimmy G has a torn thingie in the thumb of his throwing hand

  21. cmurda Says:

List. Come on. I don’t care if BA literally set him on fire, you don’t quit on your team. It’s not okay in middle school while playing dodgeball. Not okay when you are in high school Track, football, basketball, and throughout life. It doesn’t matter what the coach did or didn’t do. Mutually part ways like a man but don’t desert your team especially in the middle of the game and especially when it was a time of need. The injury excuse is pure BS. There is a whole plethora of trainers that cleared him to play.

  22. Swampbuc Says:

Ben green is hilarious. Win a super bowl, win a division the following year – clean house?

    ROTFLMAO!

  23. Aceofaerospace Says:

Can’t stand this coach? That’s hilarious. Spoken like a true saints fan. Get the hell outta here.

  24. Francisco Guzman Says:

Has AB been officially released? I haven’t heard anything.

  25. Francisco Guzman Says:

I am not a fan of Arians. Let’s not forget this is a guy that has thrown brady under the bus as well.

  26. cmurda Says:

I am always hard on the coaching staff because this is a what have you done for me lately type of business/sport. Emotions are always high with every game. With that said, how can we really blame coaching for poor tackling? Do you honestly think any NFL coaches are coming up with some brilliant never before heard tackling advice? No, the players either do their job or don’t. I’ve seen some really good displays (Patriots and Dolphins) of tackling and some poor displays (Jets and WFT) of tackling from this defense. Different story to attack his scheme and putting the defense in position to not make the tackle. That may hold water.

  27. JimmyJack Says:

    Ben Green.
    -Defending SB Champs
    -Currently contending for repeat
-Top OL in all of football, On of the top Front 7s on D
-Top offense in Football(Top 3 before Brady so dont try that excuse)
-Top ten defense. And this was completely built on every level by coaching and they inheritedthe 2018 Bucs D that was dead last in the league.

…….Great Call dude…..Lets break apart the entire franchise and build a real contender since its purely evideng this staff cant figure it out. You are a frwaking genius bro.

  28. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Devin White didn’t forget how to play or how to tackle….he has a huge body of work to prove that…..something is wrong with him….you don’t go from 10 tackles to 2..,,
Let’s see how he does Sunday…..hopefully, he’ll bounce back……we can’t have mush of a defense with all our LBs either out or ineffective.

  29. Listnfrmafar Says:

cmurda, I rewatched the game AB did not play after the half. I keep reading how he is judged by his past at Pittsburgh where he played for years before his falling out with Ben Rothsberger ( another sketchy character) he never played a game for the Raiders and did nothing wrong in NE. So why is it hard to believe a washed up coach with a history of calling his players out and know for not having a filter wouldn’t fire AB in a public forum in front of his team, staff, opposing staff and fans? By the way he can’t fire AB it is against the rules set by the players union but BA is just arrogant enough to think he can. He lit the match.

  30. Swampbuc Says:

JimmyJack – well said. Coaching and management have the resume’s to be best in class. What the players put on the field is about them concentrating and knowing what they’re supposed to be doing, and having the energy to implore their will on the competition. They seem to fall short on that a lot – that to me is the price of success.

Arians knows this and he comments accordingly. If Brady plays lousy, which he does sometimes, BA isn’t afraid to say that. Good for BA.

  31. Pelsbuc61 Says:

After 16 games and the defense still can’t tackle. Minter looked like he was in slow motion and White was playing like if he didn’t care. Really miss LVD and Shaq. Brady willed his team to victory yesterday.

  32. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Coaching change! Ben Green, I guess you want to go back to the days of Schiano and Lovie.

  33. cmurda Says:

    Listnfrmafar Says:

cmurda, I rewatched the game AB did not play after the half.

Because he frigging quit on his team

I keep reading how he is judged by his past at Pittsburgh where he played for years before his falling out with Ben Rothsberger ( another sketchy character) he never played a game for the Raiders and did nothing wrong in NE. So why is it hard to believe a washed up coach with a history of calling his players out and know for not having a filter wouldn’t fire AB in a public forum in front of his team, staff, opposing staff and fans?

BA has always been known to be a players coach. Please give me a list of the players he has previously coached that would lend any credibility to your washed up calling out players phantom story.

AB was fine in NE? I sincerely doubt that. How much damage control do you think Tom and Bill had to do for the public not to be aware of AB’s BS? Even if we go with AB not being a problem in NE. His exit with the Raiders wasn’t exactly pretty. It doesn’t even matter. How many lives does one man get? His skills are just about as good as when he was 24. That was never in question. A complete stud to the end on the football field. Unfortunately, the brain is shot. He wasn’t always this guy. It just seems ever since that Burfict shot. That was one of the most brutal hits I have ever seen. Very dirty. I can’t know for sure but I literally would be shocked if he doesn’t have severe CTE. Sadly, the future is concerning for him.

By the way he can’t fire AB it is against the rules set by the players union but BA is just arrogant enough to think he can. He lit the match.

LOL. GTFOH. Of course he can fire his ass for that stunt. The team may have to lose some money but anybody can be released. Contracts can’t be just terminated typically. The whole faking the vaccine card is not going to help AB.

  34. Listnfrmafar Says:

cmurda another moronic statement. All sports need coaching to make sure they stick to the fundamentals. Tiger Woods had coaches to analyze his game and figure out how he could make it better. Pitching & batting coaches, QB coaches, yes you need a coach for tackling, especially in todays game.

  35. Beeej Says:

A team CAN’T cut anyone they want? (Obviously, you may have to pay the balance of the contract) This isn’t the frikkin Post Office

  36. PassingThru Says:

I don’t think AB did anything wrong in New England, but then he was only there for a week.

Antonio Brown was waived by NE due to the rape allegation. Bear in mind this was at the same time Robert Kraft was defending himself from his rub & tug encounter at the Orchids of Asia massage parlor. Kraft is very sensitive about his public image.

  37. Beeej Says:

“Unfortunately, the brain is shot. He wasn’t always this guy. It just seems ever since that Burfict shot. That was one of the most brutal hits I have ever seen. Very dirty. I can’t know for sure but I literally would be shocked if he doesn’t have severe CTE. Sadly, the future is concerning for him.”

We’ll know more after the autopsy

  38. Francisco Guzman Says:

Has AB been officially cut already?

  39. Listnfrmafar Says:

Joe, please confirm to Mr. cmurda a coach CANNOT fire a player, there is a process and a hearing. I am not sure if management can or not I think they can. Again there are players like Charles Haley, Ray Lewis, Ben Rothsberger (I couldn’t list what he was accused up I got sh* down in moderation and many more that did worse. If BA was embarrassed because of the vax card he should of cut him then because if he held a grudge from it and this was the result he’s in the wrong. I guess time will tell but for now enjoy your short playoff run.

  40. SB Says:

LOL at folks like Listn who have LESS THAN ZERO IDEA what really happened. He says she says BS from people and reporters who were hundreds or thousands of miles away. Pffft. IM(OPINION) whatever happened at halftime in the locker room was the kicker. Whatever happened it was not an isolated incident.
BA never lit any match! AB lit a match in a room full of gas fumes.
He has NObody to blame but himself.
Even if it is a mental illness he has had the money and time to address such a problem.

  41. Christos Says:

The Defense needs to rise the level of play close to where it was in last years Playoofs if we goona make a deep run. It is the side that will decide the outcome. The Offense is good but with Godwin and Brown out will have some struggles. The Defense must rise up. We ll go where they will take us. Go Bucs

  42. Defense Rules Says:

So much speculation on what went on between AB, BA & TB12 on the sidelines, yet so few facts. The truth always comes out though … eventually. Only fact right now is that AB has played his last game as a Buccaneer. Time to move on.

  43. Listnfrmafar Says:

So SB, your opinion is word I guess? BA has already been caught contradicting himself. The guys makes a fool out of a DB his first catch for a big first down, has a few other receptions and says screw it I’m done keep your million. If that’s the case commit him now. Does that really make sense to you SB?

  44. Beeej Says:

Nothing AB does ever makes sense

  45. New England Patriots Fan Says:

All I know is since the AB, Rodgers, Watson, Wilson drama started this season i’ve actually have interest in the NFL product again. The product was mostly boring as it was easily predictable football games where the same manning or brady or mahomes won every year. But when you introduce superstar drama, that is connected to overall societal dynamics outside the sport I am interested as it makes things interesting for the viewer. Like what will AB say next, will he sign or get taken on waivers, will Rodgers or Wilson leave, what crazy thing will Rodgers say on Mcafee show, who will break another league rule, who’s the next domestic violence guy, who’s gonna get caught on camera assaulting someone, how much does BB and TB hate each other, what is the next way BB or TB will cheat the league again and do anything for another SB etc. This current AB is the best story of the entire Tampa season so far, most of the seasons been very boring.

  46. Listnfrmafar Says:

Good Luck Buc’s fans and BA lovers as he rides off into the sunset in his golf cart not giving two shats he cost you all a potential 2nd Lombardi trophy and the only thing getting thrown this from Brady’s boat will be his and Gronks locker keys.

  47. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Lstn

You can play Columbo all day every day and it still won’t matter. There is no justification for ABs actions.

But since you’re into crime solving… how about AB demanded at halftime to start the second half…. Of course BA doesn’t take well to that, holds him out a series or two. Then tells him it’s time to go in, AB shows his a$$ and says no. BA says ok, you’re done. ABs insanity ensues.

Anything’s possible right? And AB is and always will be wrong for his actions.

  48. Ben green Says:

Arians says he has no regrets about signing brown? Are you kidding Ben? That statement in itself incapsulates BAs coaching

  49. Francisco Guzman Says:

Tyler Johnson and Grayson. Those two guys better step up their game . Getting open against the jets is different than getting open against legit competition. Anyway it’s gonna be a tough rodeo for this team. Gonna need Bowles defense to be lights out.

  50. Greg Says:

@ Listnfr You are a Buc hater and your opinion doesn’t mean shat as you would say. You don’t know anything about the Bucs or the coaching staff other than what you want to believe. Go back to wherever you came from and vent your venom there. Go Bucs!

  51. Bring back Jameis j/k Says:

    Stop feeding the NE trolls.

  52. Ash Says:

Have they barely started watching the film? Tackling has been an issue since the beginning of the season and still isn’t fixed if they haven’t fixed it by now it’s not going to get fixed today

  53. David Says:

    Listfnmrlmnoplgbqt…

    Or whatever your name is…
“you can’t stand this guy“ ????

The best coach in buccaneer history?
A coach that has been successful everywhere he has gone?
A coach that every player who has ever played for him says how good he is?

But you can’t stand him for some reason? LoL
He’s a players coach but he takes no crap and is as direct and blunt and honest as any coach in NFL.
He’s extremely loyal, has coaches that are extremely loyal to him, he delegates and surround himself with great coaches and lets them do their job.

But you can’t stand him? LoL Who do you want, Schiano?

  54. Buc1987 Says:

    Pelsbuc61 Says:

“Coaching change! Ben Green, I guess you want to go back to the days of Schiano and Lovie.”

These peeps are not Bucs fans dude…..they’re Masshole Pats fans who think they know everything.

  55. David Says:

    Ben Green

joined that I hate the coaching staff party too?? LoL

They just won the Super Bowl as a wildcard last year and are 12 -4 right now after having gone most the season playing with 25 to 33% of their starting roster injured on any given Sunday.

The amount of miserable incompetent football fans on the site is mind blowing.

  56. Buc1987 Says:

    Listfnmr….same thing David….Pats fan.

  57. Bucfan Says:

Those of you who are calling Arians an idiot and wanting to blow up the coaching staff are some of the dumbest posters I have ever read. We as a team just finished 12 years of some of the most horrid coaching but yet you want to dismantle this staff.

Please go and cheer for the Saints, Falcons or Panthers as you are obviously not a Bucs fan.

  58. Drew Says:

They are in the NFL for a reason. At some point its ability and not coaching. Blame the players, not the coaches for tackling. WTF the coaches supposed to do? Tackle for them? If it were so easy then there would be tens of thousands waiting to play in the NFL for that money.

  59. Buc4evr Says:

Interesting take from Shannon and Skip on undisputed , what they heard from a player. Seems AB was upset that Gronk was getting the ball more and he let Brady know in an exchange with Tom when AB was on the bench. Brady wasn’t too happy with AB’s comment. Think this what probably set AB off. Not buying the injury excuse, bet AB wanted to make coin yesterday and was pissed he wasn’t being targeted more.

  60. Francisco Guzman Says:

AB wasn’t cut according to florio. The team wants him suspended it seems.

  61. Francisco Guzman Says:

AB is a clown if he got mad at Brady. Brady always finds the guy when he topen.

  62. Francisco Guzman Says:

I think the media is waiting for the cut. So typical. I don’t think the Bucs want him going to another possible contender.

  63. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Baker mayfield is REALLY bad.

  64. Bird Says:

Just watched the game again. Wow

-Brady to brate td was on 4th down …down 2 scores
-Johnson drops the ball on endzone line. Should have tied game and brady has 425 and 4 tds and 1 int. There were several drops honestly. To many
-brady threw an absolute rope thru a 2×2 window on the pass with seconds left. The safety was back there too deep and it was just a perfect strike just a tad over his head

I cant reiterate this enough. The brady haters are absolute fools. Its not surprising though. They love loved the messiah who was so amazingly average. Keep it up brady haters. You are not real buc fans. Most of you just butt hurt nole fans. 😂

  65. Bird Says:

[That’s not very nice. — Joe]

  66. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Cmurda

Calling BA a “washed up coach” says FAR more about you than BA.

BA has been a Coach of the Year. “Washed up” became the oldest coach at 68 to win a SB…I would love to be washed up into the the freaking highest achievement available in my profession…a SUPER BOWL RING. He is on pace to back that up wth a 13 win season!!! WASHED UP!!!!

Washed up? Do you guys not understand how much hyperbole and ad hom attacks make you look like morons?

  67. David Says:

If that’s true, that AB was upset about not getting the ball then he is a bigger moron than I thought. He wouldn’t be playing and have a Super Bowl ring if it wasn’t for Brady!!!
Upset he didn’t get the ball? He had 3 catchers in the first half ! He only needed 8 in the second half and next weeks game +50 yards and a touchdown to get 1 million.
Brady made sure he got his incentives last year at the expense of Rojo. So if that’s what he was complaining about and why he stormed off, he might just be a bigger mental case than I thought.

And the way he was jogging and dancing and doing jumping jacks while leaving the field… There’s no chance it has anything to do with an ankle feeling bad

  68. David Says:

    JmarkBuc

I was thinking the same thing. I kind of like Mayfield but man he cannot stand in a pocket and go through reads. That is going to be a real dangerous team if they upgrade their quarterback next year (or if he miraculously gets better).
I think some of the problem is he’s kind of short, he’s not seeing the field. He’s already had 4 balls tipped at the line of scrimmage in the half!

  69. Bird Says:

Really joe. Thats totally Rojo and where his head is at

Not very nice that you decided to censor that
    Not even pg13

  70. Joe Says:

    Bird:

You must remember this is an NFL credentialed site. And, this site is a business. Joe is responsible for every word typed on this site.

  71. bradybucs Says:

    PREDICTION:

AB won’t be cut and will return for the playoffs.

Too much at stake with Godwin out and Brady knows his best chance at an 8th ring is with AB playing vs. him not playing.

Look for AB and Arians to make up and AB to publicly apologize.

  72. Francisco Guzman Says:

bradybucs i would like to see it but i have my doubts . Both guys have huge egos. One thing’s for certain is that AB won’t be a buc in 2022.

  73. Bird Says:

    Brady bucs

Cmon now. No way that happens. Dude just went full cray cray on tv and arians said he is no longer a buc. He quit on team. I think he killed any chance we repeat w absence . But he is done. Brady even said not apart of franchise anymore.

TO is offering up his services 😂

  74. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bird he’s not being released. Florio said they want him suspended at least. And you’re right their super bowl chances went out the window with this blow-up. I just don’t think they can put up over 28 points in the divísional round with that they have now. One and done most likely.

  75. Jmarkbuc Says:

This team had very little chance of repeating with AB.

All his crying about not having him is ridiculous. Maybe his absence is the thing that FINALLY focuses this team, they’ve had their head up their own a$$ all year.

    Bradybucs… no freaking way.

  76. Francisco Guzman Says:

Jmarkbuc you’re clueless! With AB they go to the super bowl. Without him less of a chance. None of these NFC teams are great including the packers but you need to put up points and this offense right now without AB is not gonna put up over 28 in Green Bay.

  77. Ben green Says:

It’s fairly easy to figure this out. Brown could and maybe already has filed an injury grievance. The league has a union and protections in place that are afforded to all players. If the bucs released him for not playing hurt, it could be problematic. I’m sure the league will investigate, and we’ll all know what exactly happened and was said at a later date. This I’m sure of, he won’t play again this year for anyone, the bucs will make sure of that

  78. Francisco Guzman Says:

Jmarkbuc you’re clueless if you think cyril grayson is gonna replace AB. At this point anything is gravy but i see a divisional L unfortunately.

  79. Francisco Guzman Says:

Ben green it wasn’t injury. I am hearing he was whining about not getting ball. He wants to hit his incentives.

  80. Dyno-White ! # 45 Says:

Is LVD expected to be ok week after next? We are completely different when we are missing the most underrated player in the NFL. We can make some noise in the playoffs without Godwin and AB but only if David returns.

  81. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Francisco

In case you can’t read. I said we don’t win the SB WITH AB, or without him. Our defense sucks too bad for even TB to bail us out.

Your AB love is way way over the top. He was a good WR, but that’s it. The world will keep spinning.

    X-A-N-A-X

  82. Ben green Says:

I don’t think it was injury either Francisco, him bouncing around while he was running off the field hurts his case. All I’m saying is the union will go to bat for him, it’s the job of a union, no matter how despicable his behaviors. That’s all that’s going on here. These jokers that think he’ll be back, and that’s the reason he hasn’t been outright released, are dumb or Antonio Brown fans

  83. Francisco Guzman Says:

Jmarkbuc stop talking about the defense. This defense always surprises you. The other defenses are not great in the nfc including the packers. You need to put points in this league and without AB it’s gonna be difficult for them.

  84. Francisco Guzman Says:

Ben green he might not be back but i don’t think tampa is gonna release him.

  85. Ben green Says:

Hey Bird, you sound like you’re taking concussion water, buying fifty dollar nuts, and watch tony Robbins infomercials. It’s the Jets. They thought if they kept everyone in bounds the clock would run out. Tommy’s made a career out of capitalizing on other teams stupidity. Don’t make it out to be more than it is. They should’ve crushed the Jets. Thank Robert Sala for the victory.

  86. Rod Munch Says:

These Browns receivers are truly awful. I don’t think much of Mayfield, I don’t think he’s anything special and a lower tier starting QB, but man, his WRs and TEs and RBs can’t catch the ball, it’s like he has a team of Rojos out there with their lack of hands.

  87. Costa Rica John Says:

I remember Tony Dungy saying after the Bucs had a bad tackling day that they are going back to fundamentals. More tackling drills.

its a bit past the time to teach tackling basics ,don’t u think ???

  89. Rod Munch Says:

As Costa Rica said, even those all-time great Bucs defenses, if they were off, if they were getting sloppy, Dungy would have them revert to day one tackling drills until they were doing it right, then they’d go back to their previous programing. So no, it’s not past time to teach basics.

  90. Eddie Marz Says:

Concerning AB the week before he caught 10 of Brady’s 18 completions. Last week 3 out of 34. I think he was pissed thinking he was going to get more targets. Too bad, every week you can’t be “The Man”. Brady fed him last year in the last game, but they were winning. This game they were not winning and Brady didn’t have the luxury of catering to him. GOBUCS!

  91. Ed Says:

The tackling was horrendous. Remember the days when the Bucs swarmed an opponent and team tackled. Now they just stand there and look at the other guy to make a tackle.

Arians was right, those big runs the Jets made were all short gains if the defensive players would have just tackled. Devon White has to be all over the field, he cannot be dropping back in coverage. Bucs zone doesn’t work unless the front four gets pressure. They didn’t against the Jets. The only way this defense can play without a pass rush to to use the stronger corners, Dean and Davis to press and to put Edwards on the slot guy. Our linebackers without David can’t cover quicker guys over the middle.
