Slimy Saints Want To Talk To Byron Leftwich

January 27th, 2022

Reunion?

If Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich is still such a lock for the Jags as so many wanted to believe a couple of days ago, how come the Jags are interviewing other candidates and how come other teams are asking the Bucs for permission to interview Leftwich?

But that is what is going on as Joe is typing this here post at 1 p.m. on Thursday. And this time, a division rival wants to chat with Leftwich.

The slimy Saints, per Adam Schefter of BSPN by way of Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, have asked the Bucs’ permission to interview Leftwich for the opening left by Sean Payton stepping down this week.

Now Joe’s immediate reaction to this was, “What? You already have Dennis Allen in the building. What are you guys doing?”

Then Joe remembered, Leftwich coached up Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, to have one of the greatest seasons passing in NFL history when Jameis broke the 5,000-yards passing barrier.

So perhaps there is a method to the slimy Saints’ madness.

Won´t happen….Agents doing noise in order to get max deals……

  2. PassingThru Says:

I trust Leftwich to get the best out of Jameis: 30 TDs, 30 INTs.

  3. fern Says:

    Balke is out in Jacksonville
Wilson in and the rumor is Leftwich ask for Blake gone.

  4. cover deuce Says:

He isn’t a lock because Baalke is the worst executive in all of football and Byron wants him to step aside if he takes the Jax gig

  5. Greg Says:

They can have them. Will even throw in a box of cigars. No one thought of him as a head coaching candidate until Tom Brady came here and fluffed his résumé. Todd Bowles has a ton of talent to work with. Eric Bieniemy is that Kansas City where Andy recalls plays and Patrick Mahomes is known for going off script. Before everyone talks about the need to hire black coaches make sure they actually have done some thing.

  6. FirstTimePoster Says:

Adrian Wilson in as G.M. in Jax. He’s one of Leftwiches guys. Pretty much a done deal at this point.

  7. Steve-o Says:

Let the dude go where he wants, we lost and choked anyways.

  8. Jon Says:

Saw a report that Jim Harbaugh reached out to Larry Foote about Michigan DC job.

  9. Biff Barker Says:

When your TD and pic total are equal. You are playing the chuck and duck.

  10. PassingThru Says:

Brady choked and Leftowich is an average coach. My boyfriend agrees.

  11. Marine Buc Says:

I see the Winston connection. If BL gets the Saints job he will be set up to fail from day one.

Jamies Winston as your starting QB?

    $71 million over the cap?

    Free agent fire sale?

Losing your best WR and O-lineman?

Oh-ya. This is going to go well for BL…

  12. JH Says:

Why does there seem to be no talk about Leftwich being HC in Tampa. How much time could BA really have? One more season if that.

  13. Christos Says:

I thought that the 5.000 yards argument was locked in a box and thrown away in the ocean. But it found the way back to shore hahahaha

  14. Cobraboy Says:

The Saints are looking for a sacrificial lamb as HC until their cap disaster is over.

Gonne be a tough couple of years for Who Dats…

Hey, Licht: try to work a dealio for Cam Jordan & Michael Thomas…

  15. Pewter Power Says:

With their cap situation I doubt he is that desperate to be a head coach. That team will probably look completely different with no decent quarterback in house unlike the jags

  16. gbobucsfan Says:

Winston is a Free Agent not a Saint

  17. BashingBucs2520 Says:

Take him, Brady might just come back if they do. Arians, Leftwich, and Bowles are all losers. Arians last two years coaching are 8-8 and 7-9. Leftwich last two seasons as OC are 3-13 and 7-9.

  18. DrunkInYbor Says:

    YUVK,!! 🤮

  19. gotbbucs Says:

I wouldn’t touch that situation with a 100′ pole. Cap hell, no QB, not a high enough draft pick to get the top QB. They will be blowing up that roster and tanking, that’s why Payton walked away from it.

  20. SKBucsFan Says:

Let the Saints have him. I’ll take the compensation pick all day long.

  21. Lesko_Brandon Says:

Saints or Jags, please take him. We’ll throw in Bowles and Armstrong as an added bonus. Offer valid until we say so. Hurry up, as black coaches are being gobbled up by other teams. Don’t miss out.

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

hire Byron…..we want those picks……do we get them for Bowles also?

  23. Oneilbuc Says:

Don’t know what Jamies is now . But what I do know is 15 touchdowns and only 3 picks!! Yall keep hanging on that but Brady is more likely done and now let’s see if BA and the bucs can develop their own quarterback!!

  24. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

    F that!

  25. WillieG Says:

Didn’t JW throw 1,217 interceptions under BL?

  26. HC Grover Says:

OK where will Bowles land? Maybe BA too. Then let Brady run the whole show.

  27. steele Says:

I’m for whatever makes the Saints worse.

  28. Goodbuc'nlife Says:

@greg…you’re an idio*. You should wipe your arse with the very keyboard and/ phone you typed that waste of time post with. I guess Joe Judge DID SOOOOOO much as a freaking special teams coach to deserve a head gig huh? Or….maybe even Matt Patricia. Hmmm…argument can be made that his resume was built on the shoulders of Bellicheats defensive genius. Adam Gase…hmmm two teams and two sh** shows. Tannehill goes to the Titans and vola. Greg…stop it. The rock you crawled from under needs it’s company back. Go home.

    …………….

What a complete and total idiot. Keep on passing thru. Thank you.

  30. David Says:

BL Might use it for leverage but would be stupid to go there over the jags. The Saints don’t have a quarterback, they don’t have receivers, they’re 40 million over the cap.
Jags have a young quarterback that can be a stud. They get Travis Ettienne back and healthy. Great outlet and safety valve for Trevor. They are under the cap with a lot of picks.
