Rob Gronkowski Mic’ed Up

January 12th, 2022

Cashing in.

This had to give furniture-tossing, bicycle-winging, tantrum-throwing quitter Antonio Brown indigestion.

Brown, in his many rants after going mental with the Bucs and doing topless jumping jacks in the end zone, ragged on Bucs foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski calling Gronk Tom Brady’s “boy” and griping about how Brady always makes sure Gronk gets paid.

(Nevermind Brady always made sure Brown got paid, right Ronald Jones?)

So in this NFL Films video with Gronk mic’ed up, we learn at one point in the last game of the regular season that he needed one more catch to complete a $1 million bonus. And Gronk knew all about it. It shows Gronk informing Brady what’s at stake — and Brady willfully complied — and then it shows Gronk celebrating with teammates on the sidelines, almost seemingly rubbing it in.

Then, at one point, standing right behind Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht, Gronk tells Licht’s right-hand man Mike Greenberg that if he didn’t get that catch he’d have to go out and find a real job.

The only person may be happier than Gronk at that million-dollar catch? Camille Kostek.

When I watch Gronk and Donovan dancing it make me realuze how much I miss Gerald McCoy.

  2. Coburn Says:

It always cracks me up seeing the younger staffer best to Licht who is having a good laugh about it

Antoyshimself Brown has painted himself into such a corner, no one that normally gives the benefit of the doubt is giving the benefit of the doubt. I’m done having empathy or sympathy or any pathy for that bozo. Suh basically said — you have to want to get the help. He doesn’t. Never has unless he’s desperate, which he will be again. Only it will be like Scar in the Lion King, when the hyenas eat him at the end.

  4. ModHairKen Says:

Swampbuc, I was with ya until the hyenas comment. And yet I’m afraid you may be right.

  5. Swampbuc Says:

I don’t wish it on him — it’s just the expectation given his penchant for self destruction without accountability.

I’m a huge jimmie giles fan from the day and how underrated he was but what a treat to watch the greatest tight end in nfl history in a Bucs uniform. Sorry ozzy, mackey, ditka… it’s GRONK!

  7. Bob in valrico Says:

Gotta love Gronk. Is there anybody that has as much fun as him on and off the field? Reminds me of the A train when he catches the ball and bulldozes and carries defenders down the field.

  8. bucschamp Says:

  9. Bucsfanman Says:

His joy for the game is infectious!
I hope AB was taking notes. That’s the way you get your bonus.

  11. R.O. Says:

C’mon fellas that was Mike Greenberg he said that to. That makes it event that much more funny!

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Correct me if I’m wrong but it was my understanding that Gronk had already earned a portion of the million earlier in the game…..the last catch was for $333 or $500k……at least that’s what was announced.

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

Could you imagine if BA benched Brady and Gronk didn’t get his catch? I finally figured it out why Medicated Pete is gone, he is really AB and Joe cut his access to the site.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Gronk’s one-year deal he signed with the Buccaneers in the offseason included $500,000 incentives for reaching 55 catches and 750 yards, respectively, as well as $500,000 for nine touchdown receptions.(that last goal wasn’t achieved)

  15. Bird Says:

Pretty sure it was 500,000 for number of catches – 55
And it was another 500,000 for total yards – 750
Just think if gronk did not miss time. He could have made 1000 yards easy

That video cracks me up. Watched it a few days yesterday

Who is better than Gronk? So good for the team. Unbelievable work ethic, and great locker room presence.
