Offensive Line Shuffling?

January 8th, 2022

Activated.

When the Bucs promote a guy from the practice squad or activate a guy from one of the lists (PUP, COVID, KITTEN, CUBBY BEAR, etc.), it is often a tip-off and a look into the future.

So when backup guard Aaron Stinnie was activated this afternoon, it raised an eyebrow with Joe.

Why?

Because in Friday’s Bucs injury report, center Ryan Jensen was the only player listed as “doubtful” with a shoulder injury. Joe remembers Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians saying in the past if Jensen went down, the Bucs would likely move Ali Marpet, who played one season at center in 2017, to fill Jensen’s void. Stinnie would then step in for Marpet.

So Joe is wondering if the Bucs are preparing for just that scenario if Jensen cannot go tomorrow?

And the Bucs may have already decided Jensen won’t play to have his shoulder heal before the playoffs begin next week.

Last year Stinnie, filling in for Cappa at right guard when Cappa injured his ankle against Washington to open the playoffs, was great. You hardly knew Cappa was out for the season. The Bucs offense never missed a beat.

Sit Jensen, he is to important to lose next week.

  2. Swampbuc Says:

Yikes. Worry when Jensen isn’t at center although maybe Marpet’s shotgun snaps will be more accurate.

  3. ModHairKen Says:

Joe is to the Bucs what Cramer is to NASDAQ

  4. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Agree, let Jensen rest that shoulder, which was clearly bothering him toward the end of the game last week.

    Good move

  6. Coburn Says:

Stinnie is solid, especially in the run game. I’d say if it was Cappa he replacing our run game might improve, but could be a wash with it being Jensen and moving guys around. Good to give Jensen a week off in either case

  7. David Says:

Sit Jensen if there’s any doubt.

  8. HC Grover Says:

    5 game run. Bucs rule.

  9. Hodad Says:

I thought Hainsey was the back up center?

Um…first of all, Jim Cramer doesn’t ever work on, or for..the NASDAQ. Ever since 40+ years ago, he ALWAYS has worked on the NYSE …ONLY. Every morning with the CNBC crew. All his TheStreet.com former excerpts also were on the NYSE floor. News flash, ENTIRELY different stock exchange. Those with stacks, and constant CNBC viewing, would know that.

Secondly, @Joe is NOT to the Bucs, what Jim Cramer is to the NYSE. Mostly…see the long list of Cramer’s degrees, Harvard….ohh, and the fact the Cramer, from time to time, actually “BREAKS” news.

Lastly, for over 6+ years, for those that aren’t aware on here, the people penning this site have ghost screen names that they use to post things on here, and @ModHairKen has been one of their MANY, for many years on here. For many reasons on here. Just keep an eye out to when, why, the content in them. You’ll pick it up.

Go Bucs for the #2 seed!

Ben thought the injury bug would bite the bucs o line hard this year. They’ve managed to hold up extremely well, so don’t mess with a good thing. Remember Patty M. Running for his life in the superbowl? Anything they can do to make sure Brady is protected is paramount. Sit him in this basically meaningless game

  12. Cobraboy Says:

    Interesting.

I thought Stinnie was gone for the season.

  13. Craig Says:

I thought Stinnie was still injured. Even if he isn’t. Marpet is better where he is than at center.

At this point we need the line to be able to blow big holes in the defense of the Panthers. Marpet and Cappa can do that, and maybe we have someone that can run through those holes.

Go, Eagles, so the Bucs can get to the second seed.

jensen is one of my favorite players…

but after seeing some of his shotgun snaps, i’m convinced he has never won a dart throwing contest in a bar in his life…

in fact i would just clear out if he was tossing darts, and take the big implant boobed broad with me 🙂

big stinn…he definitely pushes the pile…good things he’s back

It has been reported that the Las Vegas Raiders have their Eyes on Jensen.
It is felt that Jensen will make a great Raiders Center.
The NFL is not college football, where the same teams win all the time.
If we do not win this year, it may be many years before we win again.
It is called Parity, and it ensures the NFL never has a team like Alabama, that wins all the time.

And people call me a conspiracy theorist!

    Go Bucs!!

  18. Anthony Says:

The guy will do the job rest Jansen

  19. Bucs since 76 Says:

Play Stinnie and rest Jensen. It gives Stinnie some snaps before the playoffs and give Jensen some much needed rest.

HERE’s another one Buc fans! Another transparent back ghost pen name.

Ask yourself a few things….who would come in to an (at the time of the 4:32am post) right out old comment to an older article and comment, like this at that time, and not comment on the REST of the post…unless they were trying to make some futile point.

So…@ModHairKen…@Bush’s Come Spoon…amongst OTHERS. And, notice a common thread in both???…how arbitrarily out of left field those random names are, versus…just different. Or football related, or Bucs related. As if, for sure, SOMEONE…is desperately trying to make the ghost pen names….seems (ha!)…inconspicuous.

    Hacks…
