No Playoff Lenny

January 15th, 2022

Won’t play Sunday.

Oh, no!

This is very, very bad news. Joe has to wonder if Playoff Lenny tweaked his hamstring again? Per Adam Schefter of BSPN, Playoff Lenny was not activated by today’s 4 p.m. deadline and will not be available for tomorrow’s playoff game against the Eagles.

Now the Bucs did waive cornerback Rashard Robinson to make room to activate another player. So does this mean that Lavonte David was activated? Schefter was not clear about that.

Not having Playoff Lenny is a major blow. Tomorrow’s rains are supposed to move past Tampa before noon tomorrow, in the latest forecast, so the field will likely be messy unless the Bucs cover it. Joe figured Playoff Lenny was going to turn into a mudder.

Maybe LeVeon Bell will pick up the slack? Joe has a hunch Bell can morph into a nice mudder to run behind the beastly Bucs offensive line. With the wind expected to be a factor, the Bucs will need a strong run game.

What the hell happened to all the talk that Fournette was 100%, could have played last week?

Wow, this is terrible news. On what may, or may not, be a windy day, all those passes to the RB are going to be a huge part of the game.

  2. BuccaneerButters Says:

I just saw the notification that Lenny was out, but LVD and Gio are good to go.

  3. SufferingSince76 Says:

Man, they just can’t catch a break.

  4. PassingThru Says:

    Layoff Lenny

  5. DaBux Says:

Ring that Bell. And let’s get Mr. Vaughn going early.

  6. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

Awful news, but one helluva opportunity for Ke’Shawn Vaughn. Is Rojo officially out as well?

  7. Jordan Says:

Not too surprised given its a soft tissue injury, and we’re getting Bernard back who is likely healthier since he’s been out longer and is used less frequently

Vaughn and Bernard can get the job done for 1 week – but if we get the Rams next week (and I think we will), we are going to need Rojo or Fournette full speed and play a power run game like the 49ers do

I will be absolutely livid if we play the Rams and we drop back shotgun every play and let Aaron Donald pin his ears back. The only way you slow down a guy like that and Von Miller is to run the ball which keeps them honest and tires them out.

  8. dmatt Says:

With our manbeast of an offensive line,LBell will do well in that role. Giovani Bernard Will also do well. KVaughn is starting to pick up the pieces, with TB’s foot in his rear end, he now gets it. This is playoffs n TB’s got this team ready. I believe we’ll go to the no huddle offense to pump up the scoreboard.

  9. Marine Buc Says:

    F.

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

WTF with the injuries?………I think we can squeak by with the RBs we have but it sure would be better if we had Lenny or Rojo…..

  11. DG060 Says:

Luke someone mentioned above, they just can’t catch a break this year.

  12. lambeau Says:

Gio had more rushing yards than Lenny last year, because he’s better. Relax.

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

Bell is not a mudder, he is a shifty runner. This is horrible news for Bucs unless they cover the field & if I were Licht, I would of already had that conversation.

  14. PassingThru Says:

Well if the Bucs tarp the field then it shouldn’t be a mudder, at least according to the latest weather forecasts.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Bell was brought here to catch passes. Hes not really part of the equation to replace Fournette in mine opinion.

Jordan above mentioned Bernard. I forgot all about him. I hope you are right that he back. If so that makes me feel a lot better about this problem. Vaugh has shown he can get the job done. He and Bernard should be enough to get us to the next round.

But we are gonna struggle getting further without key players like Lenny.

  16. Ash Says:

Eh not that big of a blow

  17. crazybucs_CL Says:

titans lost their back, they got seed #1. the back they lost is #1 in the league.
coach and find the way around… you got the GOAT FGS

  18. Stone crab sam Says:

It’s gonna be a slug fest. Winds 20-30. Wet grass. No Lenny. Oh man. Philly likes to run. I hope our big boys play tough, cause we’re gonna need em. Big time.

  19. DG060 Says:

If not for bad luck we’d have none at all.this year.

  20. David Says:

    Ouch.
It seemed like he was real close. I’m assuming he must’ve tweaked it again.
    Looks like Vaughn and Bell

The good news is the rains should be gone and LVD is activated.!!

  21. Kenny Says:

I BELIEVE IN BELL!!! THAT DUDE IS A GAMER!!!

I still have plenty of hope. And loved seeing Scotty Miller running the ball last week. The dude can fly. And got Perriman. We still got some weapons along with our stalwarts like Brady and Gronk.

But we 100% need Lenny back if we get past Philly. Get better Len!

  22. Leighroy Says:

Lenny’s mudder was a mudder too!

  23. Tom Sumner Says:

    WTF;…

  24. Bucdan Says:

Bell and Vaughn both looked serviceable and involved in the playbook last week. I wish we had Fournette playing, but I’m not mad at him getting extra rest.

Hopefully plenty of Bucs fans in the seats tomorrow at RayJay. I’ll sure as hell he there!

Oh, and hopefully nobody complaining about standing, only for LVD (or any other Buc) to come on the big screen and tell us to “Get on your feet!” and “Stand up Bucs fans!” on third down! Always love those times!

Hey Bucs fans! We need you! Get loud! Haha

Go Bucs! Road to the Super Bowl starts on Dale Mabry! LFG!

  25. BuccaneerScotty Says:

this is terrible news! could be the difference in a win 9r loss this team is not the same without him what happened to him being a %100 ?

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

Man..I’m disappointed in this announcement. All week I’m thinkin he was gonna be ready. Next man up then.

  27. SOEbuc Says:

Bummer…Lavonte return will be huge in the run and pass.

  28. John Collins Says:

Bucs offensive line will make the difference. Just saw raider line ruin runs with holding and grabbing penalty. The back had blew thru the hole and was long gone

  29. D-ManTX Says:

I have faith with our online and some time to scheme, Vaughn and Bell get it done tomorrow. Look for Vaughn to have a career day.

  30. Go Bucs! Says:

    we need a mudder f…

  31. Coburn Says:

Biggest thing is a you g guy like vaughn.needs to make damn sure he holds on to the ball tight. That’s one scenario I could see causing an L. If we are careful and okay mistake frees should be a W

  32. adam from ny Says:

maybe they didn’t activate him because of the wet field and potential conditions this week, if he’s still on the cusp of returning…

    we need him back tho…

maybe they can parachute him into the stadium for fun tho…right before kickoff and after the fly over 🙂

how hyped would the crowd get if lenny parachuted in….lol…the crowd would go nuckin futs

  33. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Next man up!!!!!!! Imagine how excited Bell is to get this opportunity at thsi stage of his career. Vaughn and Bell and Bernard will shine.

    Bucs 34 – Eagles 17

    On to the divisional round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. SKBucsFan Says:

Leighroy. And his father was a mudder!

Oh well…time to send in Vaughn!

  35. Bucsnutt Says:

Was Lenny actually ‘Deactivated’ or put on IR, or just shut down and placed as gameday inactive for the last few weeks? Honestly dont remember this and if he wasn’t put on IR, then didn’t need to be ‘Activated’ by the deadline.

  36. Steven M. Says:

Will WR John “Antonio” Brown play today ?

  37. TONE Says:

GIVE TERRELL OWENS A SHOT. WE NEED AB BACK. IF NOT….TERRELL.
