A Different Game

January 6th, 2022

Carolina no pushover.

Yesterday, Joe admits to cringing from the chatter.

Watching Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians discuss possibly resting guys with a big lead, it seems the veteran coach was dancing on sacred territory that angers NFL gods.

Never act like just by walking onto the field the Bucs will win by 30.

So later yesterday when Bucs safety Antoine Winfield was asked about maybe the Bucs having their way with the Stinking Panthers, Winfield put the brakes on that talk.

“Every game is different,” Winfield said. “Every week those players are getting paid, so they’re going to bring it. This is going to be a big game for them and it’s also a big game for us.

“Whatever we did last week or the week before, it doesn’t matter. It’s a new game, so we’ve got to be on our A-game.”

Yes, Carolina has pros on their team. They get paid too. They have some pride.

The Stinking Panthers have players on defense. The last thing the Bucs want to do is to rile up Brian Burns and have him deliver a shot to Tom Brady that messes him up for the playoffs.

The Bucs lost to several teams this season that were thought to be easy wins. And the lowly Jets almost made it three. Winfield was correct.

I despise “resting players when we get ahead” talk…

Any Given sunday, The jets have a tendency to play WAY above their heads sometimes. Last sunday was an example of that. All that matters is they won.

Sign TO, let’s make Brady’s last season a circus of the island of misfit toys, isn’t Dez Bryant out there to? Sign him, another clown for the show.

What’s up with Golden Tate? He can help Bucs as much as Perriman, Grayson, Bell or Johnson can?

  5. Jason Says:

Don’t these guys have a whole WEEK to rest between games??? They play for 60 minutes once a week, most not even playing the whole game, and half the guys (D) not playing when the other half (O) is. It’s not like they’re laying railway tracks by hand night and day for months. Yeah, if they’re injured, let ‘em “rest” and recover, otherwise everyone should be playing as hard as possible and earning their million dollar paychecks. LOL. All this constant talk of resting everyone cracks me up.

I do not understand the “moral acceptability” of tanking for a high draft pick…something we hope the Panthers do and we did to have five years of frustration and futility…

But shutting it down for an almost meaningless final game. This team is ready with only ONE real question…the health of our team! I just want to get through the game healthy!!! Aside from one seeding spot higher what’s at stake?

Why the entire playoffs that’s what’s at risk. I’m not suggesting we tank or even phone it in. I’m suggesting I’d rather have the “next guy up”…up in a meaningless game instead of being forced onto the field in the playoffs because of an injury in a relatively meaningless game.

Hahahaj. Lost to several teams? Bro they have 4 loses 2 are the saints. Only bad lose is Washington. Rams aren’t bums.

  8. Eddie Marz Says:

Nobody’s tanking any games. Better be ready to play. Take nothing for granted and kick some butt. GOBUCS!

  9. Purplepirate Says:

    “Only bad lose is Washington.”

The 2 losses to the saints were bad losses, especially the 1st one.

You rotate and have guys on snap counts but you keep everyone in sync because they need the practice. Other than offensive line, there are multiple skill position players that havn’t played much football all year. This game will enable them to develop a feel for live game action you can’t practice.

You also have time issues, audibles, adjustments. If you aren’t in the game you miss that experience.

Other than the Bucs, I’m so into pulling for the Eagles and the 49ers Sunday. I hope they knock the Cowboys and Rams out of their seeds and that all the playoff games come through Green Bay and Tampa as #1 and #2 seeds. That would make Sunday night sweet.

Carolina beat the aints and the Cards.. they have good defense…Bucs have got to put this distraction behind them somehow ..

we do Not want to go into playoffs –having lost our last game of the season.–AB would be gloating

If Arians left and Leftwich took over everyone would be better. As a long time Patriots fan and Brady follower..I know coaches should keep quiet ala Belichick..at least the players are following Brady’s lead and not bumbling Arians
