Report: NFL Initially Wanted To Suspend Antonio Brown For The Regular Season

December 5th, 2021

Dodged bullet.

It seems, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, if the NFL had its way, Bucs furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing, fake-V-card-flashing receiver Antonio Brown’s season would be over.

Pelissero appeared on the weekend edition of “Good Morning Football” and detailed how the league wanted to sideline Brown or up to 8 games. Of course, if Brown and defensive back Mike Edwards were put on ice for eight games, that would have meant Brown would not have been back on the field for the Bucs until a potential NFC title game.

Instead, the NFLPA came to Brown’s defense and negotiated with the league to drop the sentence to three games. For his part, Brown (and Edwards) agreed not to contest the sentence.

So the NFL, Pelissero said, wanted to make an example of Brown and Edwards for using fake V-cards to get around The Sickness protocols.

Per BSPN, Brown and Edwards did get vaccinated during training camp, after they flashed their fake V-cards. Someone got to Brown, per BSPN, and convinced him he would get in a world of trouble if he didn’t get vaxed since he already used the fake V-card.

Additionally, as Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said Friday, neither Brown nor Edwards are out of the woods with the Bucs. More punishment could be coming.

The Bucs, added Pelissero, are also waiting to see if the feds come down on Brown and/or Edwards for using the fake V-cards. Pulling that stunt was a federal offense.

What the feds do, Pelissero said, if anything, could also impact Brown’s status with the team.

You can see Pelissero’s full report in the NFL Network video below.

    1) I am glad the union talked some sense into the NFL.
    2) I still want to see the other 31 teams’ V-cards audited. Obviously, the Bucs’ were. Fair is fair.

The media spent all summer shaming Cole Beasley and then wonders why guys get fake cards or tell them they’ve been “immunized.

Without AB it’s time to unleash the S-10-MISSILE and a couple of ME-13-Mortar Rounds and a hell storm of CG-14-MG’s!!

  8. Christos Says:

Good point Westernbuc. The media and everyone critisized and almost crusified Beasley and others for not getting the vaccine and now they wonder why some people trying to get fake cards. Now everyone is saying that they respect Beasley and the others for being honest and accept their stance. Honestly i didnt see any respect before to the people that dont want to take the vaccine, they ve been called out all the time. And the result of that critisizm and cannibalism was people trying to hide that are unvaccinated. Hypocricy at its finest. Dont want to get political but i believe there are some basic human rights. Instead of trying to help one another and try to keep these rights and bring them to places in the world that they dont have them i ve seen that we re going the opposite way. We re trying to deny basic human rights. Its easy to do that when you are not the one whose rights are being denied but you always have to think what would you do if you were on the other side. Incomprehensible to me. Go Bucs, greetings to everyone from Greece.

So true, Christos. God help us all.

^ Ofcourse there are some basic human rights. The right to violate the rules of your employer and break federal laws and yet keep your job is not a right. The other employees also have rights not to be unknowingly put at risk from a health perspective because a peer lies about his vaccination status.

  11. Kalind Says:

No one cares. Like, not any people. This is the biggest snore of a story (not your fault Joe,) we’ve had this year.

Trivia: where can one find a POS that’s paid over 50m a year?
Answer: NYC. NFL HQs. Roger Goodells office. Roger Goodell.

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

Love it, AB just got grounded for 3 weeks. I have a whole new respect for BA. Another public lynching by the frigging media.

  13. Kentucky Buc Says:

Hmm Pelisario doesn’t mention that all the players on other teams that were caught with fake cards broke the same law. So somebody with the Bucs told Brown and Edwards that they could get in trouble if they didn’t get real cards. So somebody with these other teams told their players that got caught with fake cards they could get in trouble if they didn’t get real ones. What am I missing here. Wait, I know the answer. Media involvement. The NFL doesn’t give a squat until the media gets involved.

  14. Kentucky Buc Says:

BTW. These other players used their fake cards longer than AB and Edwards. According to the report some got caught after their 2nd shot and some got the booster to ensure they were covered. Where’s the outrage over that . What a joke. Where are the supposed reporters that are questioning this. It’s right there in front of them. Handled by their teams. Did anyone see any fines or suspensions ?

  15. Razor Ramone Says:

Selective reporting as usual, and the league and the National media have traditionally hated the Bucs. Go Bucs.

  16. Capt.Tim Says:

Are the the Feds still called the FBI, or have we made the change official to
    “KGB” yet?
Land if the free. As ling as you do as your told.

  17. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

I’m sure that every one of the other 1,700 NFL players did everything right. Nothing to see here.

  18. Winny Testaverde Says:

The self anointed law firm of Stroud, Florio and in house counsel CoughMan will no doubt launch an additional lawsuit in the court of public opinion.

But unbelievable keeps saying that nobody has been coerced! I’m so confused…

  20. ModHairKen Says:

So fake cards is the death penalty but lying and violating for Aaron Rodgers is okay? Hmmm. What’s the difference? Team? Superstar status? Anything else?

No federal laws. Dictates from the White House. The rest of what you said is proven wrong by the ACTUAL science.

  22. Beeej Says:

The vax card is NOT a federal document, it’s just a piece of handwritten cardboard. I’m dubious about that angle

  23. #1bucsfan Says:

It’s all a scam. I virus so deadly you have to get tested for it haha Jokes on all those people

  24. Greg Says:

Kinda like Grudens Emails eh??? Don’t stop looking NFL Gestapo!!
We want receipts!! Every team Every player Every employee Email!! Do it or forevermore be a halfassed hypocrite!!

  25. Christos Says:

Anonymous i did not make my point understandable to you. I did not say that Brown and others that do the same should not be punished. Of course they should be. I am talking about the belief that every human can have autonomy of his body. What i m talking about is the segregation we have seen happening because of the vaccination status. Like we have learned nothing from history to know where these things lead. We have seen situation like this so many times in the history of the human species and segregation always leads in a bad place. And yet here we are in the 21st century and nothing has changed.
