Perfection In A Pitch-And-Catch For Six

December 12th, 2021

Stud.

Bucs fans will be hard-pressed to remember a better throw and a better catch than they witnessed in the first half when Tom Brady linked up with Mike Evans.

Even better, the play ended with a Bucs touchdown!

It was midway through the second quarter and the 13-yard pass sure seemed like it was 30 yards because Brady was backed up so much due to the blitzing Bills. Brady stepped back from left-side pressure and had to get rid of it.

Mike Evans was in the end zone and Buffalo safety Micah Hyde was in front of him in perfect position to pick anything short. But Brady, perhaps knowing Evans still had those Texas high school basketball hops in him, fired the pass over Hyde and just barely. That ball cleared Hyde’s swat by maybe two inches.

And it was a good thing it wasn’t any higher, Evans used those hops, stretched out and caught the ball with his fingertips. It damn near slid out of his gloves but Evans was able to keep the clamps on the ball.

That pass had to be perfect. If the ball was thrown two inches higher, it’s incomplete. If the ball was thrown two inches shorter, that ball is batted away and perhaps picked. Brady had to throw a bulls eye and throw a bulls eye he did.

Joe honestly didn’t know what was better, the throw or the catch.

Either way, the throw was spectacular.

Fire the cannons!

I hate to say this but we need AB

  2. geno711 Says:

Just another TD for HOF Mike Evans.
    Greatest receiver in Buc’s history.

Re signing Perriman has turned out to be a brilliant move!
He won the game for us!!!!!!!

LUVMYBUCS I feel like you are happy to point that out after a great win.

  5. SufferingSince76 Says:

I hope I live to the end of the season. Geez these guys make it harder than it needs to be.

  6. Jim Says:

The coaching staff almost lost a 24-3 half time lead. Tom Brady should take the field and shut off his headset. Arians and his coaches are clueless!

  7. NaplesBucsFan Says:

Well no such thing as easy games but other than the Saints I don’t see anybody beating us…we still have to exorcise those Saints voodoo demons…let’s see if we can this coming Sunday night!!!! When we do we have the division locked up…then we can win out to get playoff seeding!!! LFG!!

  8. NaplesBucsFan Says:

I think our D is missing Mike Edwards more than our O is missing AB

  9. NaplesBucsFan Says:

Jim, plays were there to be made and Brady and others missed them…don’t pull this coaching staff BS!!!! Players execute, not coaches!

Great TEAM win. Needed the test of adversity and we’ll learn from it to be better in the playoffs. Considering we have Taysom Hill led Saints, Jets, and floundering Panthers who can’t beat Falcons left, we needed a test. Well done! Tom WILL be better on those throws that could have put the game away in the 3rd and early 4th.

Big Mike has gotta be the best receiver on the team. Stud dude can catch those highpoints and more, amazing at drawing flags on defenders, and a class act w passing things along to the fans. We’re blessed to have him.

  12. JimmyJack Says:

Jim ok so the staff almost lost a 24-3 lead…….So who is responsibile for the lead? Are the coachs responsible for any of the good or are they only responsible for the bad?

So did the coachs do a good job in OT or they only get credit for bad things?

  13. ModHairKen Says:

Perriman. God bless him for coming back.

  14. Bucfan Says:

Joe, you have so many tools who comment here. The tools who says Mike Evans sucks or is overrated and the tools who says the coaching staff sucks. I don’t understand how people can be so ignorant and hateful when we are sitting at 10-3.

What an amazing record we have, the best this team has ever seen yet people still want to hate. Give me a *ucking break already.

We are witnessing a team fighting their asses off every week and knowing that as reigning Super Bowl Champs we have had a target on our backs since game one. Every single team plays us like it is their Super Bowl yet we are still 10-3.

    Go BUCS!!

That play was a hell of a throw and a hell of a catch. Execution cannot be any better.

  16. Buczilla Says:

The best quarterback in our history throwing a beautiful pass to easily the best home grown offensive player in our history, who made one hell of a catch. Mike was dominant today and I can’t wait to get a good laugh at what his buffoonish detractors nitpick about his game today.

  17. Show Me the TDs Says:

Brady has played for so many years and has won so much that he seems bored at times. Seriously. It took OT to get him to focus

  18. Ptwalk Says:

@Jim, I’m jealous of the people that will never read your post.

  19. bucschamp Says:

that was a hard catch. Tom is pushing Mikes limits. we are going to need it later

  20. Jerry Strickland Says:

Love The Win!! Just wondering how long my heart is going to last with these late 4th quarter wins. Been watching wins and loses since 1986 and looking forward to many more. Love my Bucs!! Great job tonight taking care of Buffalo Bills!!!!

  21. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

I been saying it all season.. you just have to throw the ball to Mike!! The guy may not look open but he just somehow comes down with it!! Plus yes that was a good pass but he has to chuck it up to Mike more often!! If he’s in single coverage I would throw it to him every time! And he was in a lot of single coverage today

  22. westernbuc Says:

Might’ve been Mike Evans’ best catch from Brady.

  23. G.Marosi Says:

The catch of the season bar none!
