Not A Good Start Of The Week For Antonio Brown

December 1st, 2021

Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians

Antonio Brown was not at practice today. Again. And it sure doesn’t seem like he’s going to practice much this week either.

That was the update this afternoon from Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians.

Brown wasn’t at practice and when Arians was asked if Brown may return to the practice field soon, Arians said, “I doubt it, I doubt it.”

So what’s the deal with Brown? When he last played, at Philadelphia on Oct. 15, Brown suffered what doctors initially diagnosed as a sprained ankle. Then Arians said it was a bone spur. Today, Arians wasn’t specific.

“It was more a different injury than originally thought, a sprain,” Arians said. “There are some issues in the heel. So that’s what he is having problems with.”

Arian said if the initial diagnosis picked up on the more severe foot injury Brown suffered, the Bucs likely would have put Brown on the injured reserve list.

Arians did not offer any timetable when he hoped Brown would resume full activities.

Well didn’t Arians say it was bone spurs? Short of surgery, all you can do with bone spurs is rest until the pain is manageable. I thought Arians sounded hopeful last week.

  2. DBS Says:

Well it is now December If he is not even in practice and the coach does not sound very good about it? How much more time before he goes on IR?

  3. SOEbuc Says:

DO NOT RUSH HIM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait for the playoffs for all I care we got a soft run after Buffalo just let the man heal. I’m hoping he’ll be ready for game one of the playoffs 🤞

  4. Mike Says:

Yeah, we need him for the playoffs, no need at all to rush him back. Take it week to week and bring him back when he is fully healthy, or at least as healthy as he can be around the end of the season. We need him in the playoffs though, above all else.

  5. Buc4evr Says:

Yeah let him heal. After all we have Darden .. 😂. Seriously, Perriman and Miller need to step it up.

  6. Dean Giusti Says:

That is BEYOND disappointing man. WTF is the problem Antonio?? You’ve been out for 2 months. LFG DUDE!!

  7. Adrnagy Says:

Players demand $$ and contract length.

Put him to practice and play this week. If he can ride a bike he can play. !

  8. Adrnagy Says:

If jpp is playing with one arm. Ab can play with one leg.

  9. Listnfrmafar Says:

Obviously worst than everyone thought. Could it be the covid card thing? But if.he has trouble putting weight on it, how effective would he be anyway? Love to see him back.

  10. Robert Says:

bruised heel, high ankle sprain, spur….could be anything. We need him down the stretch though. Especially since ME consistently drops balls (1st pass last game) when running inside routes. well…not drops…just doesn’t know the route or is chasing butterflies. Hit’s him in the hands and he’s not even looking. ah well.

  11. captivajim Says:

agree that he should not play before playoffs IF he’s ready by then? Would think Bucs medical staff with MRI’s, etc had made correct diagnosis much earlier???? Shame for him as well; I’m sure he wants to play + the guy seems to have straightened himself out thanx to being with Bucs/Brady.

Time for Scotty , Darden, and I’d put Grayson out there a few times…..

I read the other day (by a commenter) AB was spotted in training, tossing furniture and bicycles. It sounded like he was progressing nicely.

Maybe he had a set-back, and over did it on the furniture. Some of those chairs are pretty heavy.

Elite athletes have unique training methods, and I don’t question their methods.
I’ve tossed many things in my life. Now, I just call it training.

I do like AB, and hope he’s 100% soon.

  13. Allbuccedup Says:

    Wheres Breshad Perriman?

  14. Buczilla Says:

Brown probably doesn’t need more than a game or two in order to be at the top of his game. I would make sure that he was as close to 100% as possible for our playoff run. We aren’t looking like anything near the world beaters that we were late in the year last year, so I think that a healthy Antonio is a must.

  15. brooks Says:

    well cut him he’ll retire

  16. Tgarza Says:

He’s had serious foot issues way before he came to Tampa.

  17. Joe Says:

He’s had serious foot issues way before he came to Tampa.

    Frozen feet. LOL!

  18. Mustachechuckself Says:

He is doing TB12 recovery with Tom’s top people have faith if they can get him back soon with The medical team The Trainers and TB12 regiments it will get done for play offs if at all possible say a prayer

  19. Erik Says:

If it’s a bone spur easy surgery and he will recover before playoffs. Been doing fine without him and the rest of the season is easy wins including the bills which we play them at home and should be an easy win.

  20. Larry Bailey Says:

You dumbasses he’s out 3 more games because of vaccine you idiots screw this punk

  21. Steven L. Benner Says:

DANG!!! COME ON Antonio Brown…..Scott Miller hurt his toe- he’s back! Keep hearing your coming back: next game, next game???!!! Just hope you feel better soon to help put the finishing touches on this Bucs Team!
