Jordan Whitehead Only Bucs Player Ruled Out (For Now)

December 10th, 2021

Status for Sunday.

Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians has said he will only be without one player for sure on Sunday.

Safety Jordan Whitehead has a calf injury and he did not participate in practice this week. Arians ruled him out. Center Ryan Jensen had a messed-up ankle and did not participate in any practices prior to this morning (he was on the field in full practice gear this morning). Arians said Jensen’s return is not a surprise to him because he knows how tough Jensen is.

Cornerback Jamel Dean and returner/receiver Jaelon Darden are returning from concussions and Arians seemed positive they will be ready Sunday. Arians held off on saying they would be full-go as they need to pass further concussion tests.

As far as corner Richard Sherman playing safety against Buffalo on Sunday — he was cross-training this week to play there — Arians quipped, “I hope not.” Arians added that Sherman is such a smart guy that picking up the nuances of safety won’t be a big challenge for him.

Arians, too, is on the injured list with a messed-up Achilles. He’s been using a leg cart to buzz around the building at One Buc Palace. When asked if he would still be on the sidelines Sunday, Arians said, “P!ssed off, but I will be there.”

    JPP should be ruled out

  2. PassingThru Says:

I’m glad Jensen might be able to gut this one out, he’s really needed Sunday.

Whitehead is going to be missed against Josh Allen.

  3. Beeej Says:

So who is our third string free safety?

  4. WillieG Says:

Oh goody, Darden is playing! We will need those 6 yards of production.

  5. WillieG Says:

Oh goody, Darden is playing! We will need his production. (The preceding comment was brought to you by sarcasm. Sarcasm. It’s what’s for breakfast.)

  6. Joe Says:

So who is our third string free safety?

    Probably Ross Cockrell.

  7. Defense Rules Says:

Bucs NEED to be thinking about getting these guys healthy. If we go into the playoffs hurting like we are now, it’ll be one-and-done.

  8. Robert Says:

    “Probably Ross Cockrell.”

OMG…….he get’s burnt more than toast. I hope Caveman Cockrell doesn’t see the field.

  9. MadMax Says:

We’ll have to trade up into the 3rd for him, but Jaquan Brisker from Penn St.

RB Brian Robinson Jr in the 1st
CB Alontae Taylor in the 2nd
S Jaquan Brisker in a traded up 3rd

Thats where I am right now…subject to change of course

  10. PassingThru Says:

    Yeah, I think Joe’s right.

I always thought Cockrell was more of a safety than CB, he has good instincts but not really the strength and athleticism for the latter. It was a good idea to make him a hybrid DB.

  11. BuccaneerButters Says:

    We still have Adams right?

  12. Joshua porter Says:

Hey Joe no pods this week?

  13. #8 Says:

If AB were out there, I’d feel far more confident in our ability to score enough.

  14. Robert Says:

I’d say Cockrell at free safety……. he’s had enough tide pods

  15. Medicated Pete Says:

Did Ira die??? U guys can’t put out podcasts anymore

  16. Show Me the TDs Says:

Darden must have gotten concussed diving head first into the turf, trying to avoid contact.

  17. Bojim Says:

Hope Darden isn’t shy about taking a hit now.

  18. JGhotier Says:

I’d hope they’d bring up The Other Warner (Troy) for Safety insurance this week. Having just Adams, AWJ ✌️and Cockrell ONLY again at the Safety position, kinda scares me tbh.

  19. Derek Says:

    Any podcasts this week guys?

  20. David Says:

Personally I think everyone needs to lay off Darden. He’s got the longest punt return in the NFL this year. Other than that he has not been given many chances. He has shown that he can be very dynamic and shifty, so give the kid a chance.

  21. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

MadMax, are you a Bucs fan? If so, it’s not time to pontificate on the draft. We’re gonna make the playoffs and hopefully repeat. This isn’t the lost decade.

  22. Winny Testaverde Says:

Speculation begins to build with the deafening silence of JBF spokesman Irv Coughman™️. Has The Covid Card Coalition asked for him to join them in solidarity during the #BrownOut? Only time will tell! I will wait with bated breath if not whiskey on my breath and in my flask.

  23. MadMax Says:

@Alvin, you’re obviously new…ive been around since the 2nd year Joes had this site going…and Im a draft guy always looking, even if we win the SB again…you never stop looking….sorry you’re butthurt over what I do best here….picking future stars….but you’ll get over it lol
