Wasn’t just Godwin. Saints we’re diving at every Bucs knees. They’re dirty. They were seeking revenge for Winston and trying to take out our weapons for the year. I am not the type to easily make these kinds of accusations. But to me, it was absolutely obvious those defenders were aiming for injuries. No doubt.

TB12 1 1/2 years as a Bucs; very concerned about CG13 put it this way:
“NFL should change the legality of hitting WRs low; is illegal to hit ALL the players low, but WRs”
That was a hateful dirty hit; it is shameless for two local “Bucs Fans” NOT, to be so cold and passionless for what happen.

“Clean hit” they say…as long as it’s not their knees and livelihoods…right? A spearing knee dive by Punk Williams…the fella who whiffed on Diggs in the playoffs and blew the game. Got up flexing of course…Godwin out $100 million dollar deal. But “clean hit”…GTFOH with that pius BS. Brooks doesn’t want his legendary status challenged any further it seems and Ira…well…he’s a Chiefs fan working at JBF cause the fish wrap factory is full.

In baseball they take care of their own. It keeps teams in check from knee capping…. like what the saints did to the bucs.

The hit on Godwin is legal. Clean from that perspective but there wasn’t much clean about it. It wasn’t a tackle as much as it was a shoulder dive directly to the knee.

As I said yesterday: dirty, but not illegal.
We lost Godwin, Evans, Fournette and Lavonte in one game. JFC, this season is doomed.

Yes having our playoff hopes destroyed is acceptable. The physical carnage wrought by the saints is in no way acceptable to any civilized human and the NFL will suffer financially because of it

they were out for revenge–plain-n-simple.. I would NOT be surprised of bounty gate was back on …This was a great young player with a Hall-of-fame career.. Now he’ll be out for 9 months at best before he can even practice..
Gerry Jones stepped up when Prescott got hurt last yr .. Be really terriffic if Bucs did it for Godwin

BS the defender knelt down right in Godwins path purposely at knee level.

Shoulder pads to the knee, legal but lethal to Chris Godwin when he was in the position he was in. In the old days they would go high but since the NFL is trying to protect defenseless receivers from head shots, they have created a loophole for taking shots at players knees without being penalized.
Watching that replay, Godwin was moving horizontally and Williams came in low leading with his shoulder. At first I thought it was his helmet that made the impact but it was the pads and the shoulder.
I think the only thing to do is for professional football players to have some code of warfare that you don’t throw your shoulder at a defenseless WR.
The intent was the flip him and hurt him but I’m not sure in the speed of the moment he could have realized that there would be that much of a collision with Godwin’s knee.
The competition committee is really going to have to look at this to help prevent that kind of injury. Quarterbacks get that kind of projection, they would eject a pass rusher who slammed his shoulder pads into a QB’s knees.
