What Bruce Arians Said To Bucs Captains And Leaders

November 10th, 2021

Play smart football.

No one was happy with how the loss to the slimy Saints came about. But it doesn’t  doom the season.

So Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians gathered the Bucs captains and leaders — the exact players is unknown but to the Bucs — to deliver a special message that they were ordered to take to their teammates.

It was an old saying not heard around these parts in a while, Bucs inside linebacker Lavonte David said earlier this week.

“That’s just the basic thing: no Bucs beating Bucs,” David said. “That stuff is just old. We can’t have that creeping back up for us to be a team that we want to be. We’re a good football team and we’re capable of beating a lot of teams when we go out there and play.

“At the end of the day, we can’t win if we’re out there with 10 penalties a game and stuff like that. A lot more stuff was added, but obviously, that was the main thing. We just can’t go out there beat ourselves when we’re out there playing football.

“This game is already hard to win, so when you add on penalties and stuff like that it’s going to be even tougher. We’re not trying to put that on ourselves.”

These are correctable errors. Just don’t play with your head up your backside. Don’t hit quarterbacks in the head. Don’t woof or mad dog in a guy’s face and draw a personal foul. Know the snap count on offense. Watch the snap on defense.

Football 101 stuff.

Joe thinks there are more egregious Bucs errors than dumb penalties. Blitzing 22 times without recording any quarterback pressures is pretty awful. Letting a third-string never-been look like Troy Aikman is another.

But yeah, as long as the Bucs don’t beat the Bucs, they themselves will be hard to beat.

Without the penalties, Simean would have looked like Simean. A killer pick, drive ending sacks were called off because of stupid penalties and in a two point game, that’s plenty to make you lose.

  2. Beeej Says:

I’d like to know what is wrong with Devin White– he has been largely ineffective the entire season, along with committing stupid penalties that possibly cost us that game

  3. Medicated Pete Says:

We’ll see how bad they want it the next 9 games because they gave ZERO FUX vs the Saints

  4. Mike C Says:

The 3rd stringer put up 3 TDs on the board in 7 minutes vs ATL and took the lead with a minute left, if the Saints don’t choke on D, everyone is probably talking about how this guy might be the best qb on the roster by far.

  5. JGhotier Says:

He didn’t look like Troy Aikman against us. Just stop that narrative. It’s silly and completely exaggerated and wrong!

You just know what Joe this one is…SMH

  6. Craig Says:

If White goes postal again, will they sit him? He caused the refs to look more closely at the Bucs, and cost the game.

Nothing wrong with being an excitable boy, but there is a line not to cross.

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

David and White are pretty close. I got David gettin in Whites ear and him playing a lot better the 2nd half. White is a tremendous talent. He’s just gotta play with more control. He will be fine.

    ACCOUNTABILITY… Not a bad mantra 🤔
