NFL Doing Homework On Bucs And Antonio Brown

November 19th, 2021

Investigation underway?

This could get ugly if not sticky.

In the wake of the news that Bucs furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing receiver Antonio Brown may or may not have obtained a fake V-card to get around NFL virus protocols, the NFL isn’t wasting any time.

The NFL wheels are turning on what appears to be an investigation of whether the Bucs properly confirmed Brown’s vaccination status and whether Brown bought and used a fake V-card.

The Bucs officially stated all players’ V-cards appeared to be in good order and that they met with NFL standards. The NFL, so reports the creator, curator and overall guru of Pro Football Talk, the great Mike Florio, has begun its homework of both the Bucs and Brown.

“We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told PFT by email. “We will review the matter. … Any attempt by team personnel or players to use a forged or fake card would be reviewed under the personal conduct policy. In addition, it is a federal criminal offense.”

And this is where it gets ugly. Brown served an eight-game suspension last season for violating the personal conduct policy (remember when Brown couldn’t join the Bucs earlier than October last year?).

Repeat offenders of the personal conduct policy face stiffer penalties. So, for example, if the NFL suspended Brown before Monday night’s game with the Giants (highly unlikely to happen this fast), Brown could be done for the year, including the postseason, as there are eight games left in the regular season.

Brown’s agent claims he is vaccinated. He better have real proof of vaccination.

If Brown pulled a fast one, this could cost the Bucs a shot at repeating. The Bucs are 5-0 with Brown this season; 1-3 without him.

AB’s valid vaccination card was accidentally tucked under a seat cushion of a piece of furniture…

that he eventually tossed out the window…

that’s how this whole mess started

  4. Red86 Says:

The sad thing about this is last year the vax wasn’t required. The season went along just fine. It’s seem more players and coaches tested positive compared to last year. But ultimately, it’s not our business to know who is and isn’t vax. If the vax work, then it don’t matter who does or doesn’t have it.

  5. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

    Yawn. Covid theater.

  6. Listnfrmafar Says:

It was a foraged IMMUNIZATION card. Give him his fine and Bucs fine and move on. I don’t believe AB was ever on the Covid 19 restriction list. If this is fake sue the shat out of that chef.

  7. westernbuc Says:

Marijuana possession is a federal offense, and the league effectively legalized that.

  8. PassingThru Says:

How tight are the Glazers with Goodell?

The investigation will have nothing to do with evidence, and neither will the conclusion. NFL investigations are all about politics. If influential owners (particularly Jerry Jones, Art Rooney) want the Bucs eliminated, or feel they have a score to settle with AB, the timing of the punishment will be this season, and it will be severe. It’s all about the politics at Park Avenue.

  9. Tamlpabaybucfan Says:

If one player’s card is scrutinized, then all cards should be.

  10. Bobby M. Says:

I’m pretty certain there are state databases that can confirm vaccination status….I would like to believe the team did the proper due diligence in that regard. Time will tell but if he lied to the team or broke the rules, he’ll likely be out another game or two. Rodgers blatantly lied and exposed people…..all they got were fines. If with Brown’s history I don’t see a long term suspension.

  11. Jerry Says:

Florida passed a law earlier this year (SB 2006) which bans 3rd parties from use of the state database for verification of vaccination status. This was done in order to ban the so-called “vaccine passport.” So if he got the jab in Florida, it’s going to be very hard for the Bucs or the NFL to verify with the state health department directly.

Other states are much more open about this. So where he got it could matter quite a lot.

  12. D-Rome Says:

The NFL is so hypocritical. They don’t care about COVID safety at all. If they cared then the players would be playing in empty stadiums again. We know the vaccine:

    1. Doesn’t prevent you from getting COVID.

    2. Doesn’t prevent COVID complications.

    3. Doesn’t help slow the spread.

    4. Doesn’t prevent COVID hospitalizations.

President Biden wanted this country to reach a 70% vaccination rate. Well, we are already there so Mission Accomplished, sir. It’s time to drop your executive orders and laws that punish those who refused a rushed, ineffective vaccine. They won’t do that because this social experiment was never about keeping people safe and saving lives.

  14. #8 Says:

Worst case is he broke non-vaxxed protocol, and gets a fine like DB12 right?
Fake card has nothing to do with it really.
Let’s say he is unvaxxed. Same punishment as packers and DB12.
    Move on-

  18. NPRSageBoy Says:

Cancel Culture is coming for the Bucs. It’s not about the truth anymore; it’s about who tells the best story.

The truth doesn’t matter to the authoritarian crowd at the NFL. It’s scalps they are after.

Get ready for life without AB.

    Let’s Go Brandon!!!

  19. Joe Says:

    Not really.

  20. Listnfrmafar Says:

Hippa regulations. Not sure if anyone can get the answer without AB’s approval. If he is not he should come clean rather than milk this. The NFL is much more tolerant to those that confess. Ask TB12, he felt Rath. BS rath.

  21. Lesco_Brandon Says:

Just say the dog ate my V-card. It works all the time. Move on.

  22. SunkenGardenz Says:

  23. Rob3810 Says:

D-Rome don’t come on here with your false information about the vaccine. 3 of your 4 bullet points are false. The vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting covid but it does drastically reduce complications, spread and hospitalizations.

  24. RottenAmiigo Says:

I feel like this is such a made up non sense story, somebodies butt hurt at someone else. And is trying to get dirt on AB

  25. Joe Says:

Made up? The NFL has already started gathering information and doing background work. Brian McCarthy said on the record to NBC the investigation has begun. How is this “made up” or “non sense?” You believe Florio just invented quotes attributed to an NFL spokesman?

    ………………….

It is people like you that perpetuate the problem

  27. D-Rome Says:

    Rob3810,

Nothing I said was false. In fact, all the things you are saying is all part of the ever evolving narrative on the vaccine. I remember when Biden said the vaccine would stop the spread and basically blamed the unvaccinated for spreading COVID. I also remember when Biden stated the vaccine would never be mandatory. Look where we’re at now. What started as 15 days to flatten the curve and “it’s just non-essential businesses” has turned into take the vaccine or you’re fired. Meanwhile the greatest transfer of wealth in American history happened right before our eyes.

I’m not saying the powers that be were intentionally trying to shut down small businesses, destroy the middle class, transfer the majority of the wealth to the world’s largest corporations, and divide us with fear and hatred. If they were, what would they be doing differently?

  28. Chipbuc Says:

So lets kill ab for faking a v card but give Rogers a slap on the wrist for lying about getting a shot. Am I missing something here? Non story if you give out equal justice.

  29. SOEbuc Says:

Sure as hell hope the isn’t the reason Gronks a full participant.

  30. Mike Johnson Says:

Wow D-Rome, I really thought..you were a little bit brighter than that. But in this present day world? Nothing surprises me..Nothing.

  31. Listnfrmafar Says:

Chipbuc, you really playing the minority card? Roger’s lied to the press, his team and teammates knew he wasn’t vaccinated. He and the team were fined per NFL rules. AB (who I am a huge fan of) has a history and is pretty much on probation, rightly so. If this is true it is a Federal violation of fraud. Now do I agree with the law, no but to place the race card is ridiculous.

  32. crazyBucs_CL Says:

@”…So lets kill ab for faking a v card but give Rogers a slap on the wrist for lying about getting a shot….”
    ———————–
NFL is become a disgusted polit$cal b$tch. On game rules (taunting); national anthem joke (with two anthems !!!!); dressing codes(helmets and jerseys sings)… and so on.
Fans don’t care if AB is vaccinated or NOT, has a carton/paper that a first grader can duplicate with old doted printer, not to get “stunk”; this “dossier” investigation makes you sick.
    AB is great football player.
    AB we love you.
    Let’s go B

  33. crazyBucs_CL Says:

@…”Now do I agree with the law, no but to place the race card is ridiculous….”
    ————————-
race card is in the second place, first place now days is pol$tical believes or behavers or narratives, then comes the race.
That is NOT ridiculous, that is reality.

  34. Chipbuc Says:

Listnfrmafar I didn’t even think of the race card until you brought it up. It’s not about race its about equal justice. Rogers gets a pass but Brown with his troubled past gets the third degree. Maybe rogers should face the same kind of scrutiny that every one else does. Just saying

  35. Alanbucsfan Says:

“Federal criminal offense” – what does that mean today? Didn’t kiss some political party’s ass?
Since WFT just got fined only for trying to use their cheerleaders as porn objects, if AB did forge his passport- a fine seems appropriate.
If he’s suspended, he should sue the NFL.

  36. Rayjay1122 Says:

Maybe the Federal Government should try on Competency for size before they make governing laws. What a complete joke.

  37. Cobraboy Says:

@Rob3810: You are factually incorrect, either by choice or ignorance. I will cut you some slack and bias toward ignorance.

The vaxxx—first of all, it is not a vaccine in the traditional sense, but a drug that uses modified genetic material to effect changes in cell messaging and protein production…which is NOTHING like a true vaccine—does NOT prevent *any* spread of the virus at all. The fact is, the Noble Vaxxxed and Unwashed Unvaxxxed carry identical viral loads.

Secondly, the vaxxxes are now proven to NOT prevent death and sickness. If you want living proof, look no further than Iceland, Ireland, the UK, Israel, Portugal…and even Vermont in the USA. They ALL are highly vaxxxed, and ALL have many sick and dying people…who were vaxxxxed. In September alone, 77% of covid deaths in the UK were vaxxxed.

Hell, Gibraltar is 117% vaxxxed, 100% fully and 40% with the first booster.

On top of all this is the FACT that where there is a high % of vaxxxed, there is also a high % increase in additional deaths above population baseline, not covid, but other conditions primarily related to circulatory problems…in “fully vaxxxed” Loyal Comrades. In the UK, some morgues are having difficulty with the stacks of non-covid but vaxxxed bodies.

All the while in TX and FL, where no vaxxx mandates exist on any scale, the covid cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are very low, the bottom of all states.

And what is really interesting, central African countries which are the “usual suspects” in various pandemics (AIDS, Ebola, Cholera, etc.) and are at the bottom % of Noble Vaxxxed citizens, covid is non-existent. At the same time, tropical parasites abound and those people take hundreds of millions of doses of HCQ (malaria) and Ivermectin (dengue and malaria) every year.

I rue the day when school boards decided that critical thinking should be replaced with Social Justice, because you are a shining example of the result.

  38. EEK Says:

    this is painful; AB is so good; the database check takes all of 3 seconds as it is part of vaccine administration to submit the encounter to a database; if AB were registered on the database the conversation would never have started;

hopefully rapid remediation and receipt of a “booster” or proper first dose in his case will allow him to stay in uniform and keep playing

AB was not required to get vaccinated to — although it may be a requirement in LA by the time the SB rolls around

  39. Cobraboy Says:

Rogers never once stated he was Vaxxxed. He stated he had “immunity” which was NOT a lie.

Ignorant casuals in lock-step with The Official Gubmint Narrative interpreted “immunity” for “vaxxxxed”, not Rogers.

    I applaud his well-chosen words.

  40. webster Says:

The vax was not required last season because it was not available last season. Pretty hard to require something that is not available

  41. Listnfrmafar Says:

Chipbuc, I apologize, I misunderstood how you were comparing the two.

  42. Listnfrmafar Says:

Just because at one point he sought out a fraudulent VCard doesn’t mean he eventually didn’t get vaccinated. He may have decided to get it at a later date. Wouldn’t he or his attorney be able to produce the real card?

  43. Listnfrmafar Says:

Buckle up fans, Rittenhouse verdict NOT guilty.

  44. D-Rome Says:

Wouldn’t he or his attorney be able to produce the real card?

Have you seen a vaccination card? There’s no way to tell whether one is real or fake. It is the easiest government document (if you want to call it that) to fake especially because there is no central database linking a card ID to a person.

  45. crazybucs_CL Says:

@”…there is no central database linking a card ID to a person…”

It is a “dossier”, “investigated/put it together” by his chef(cook), released cause the cook wants $10000 that AB owes him(the cook); grabbed by media, amplified; reached NFL/Goodell, INVESTIGATION STARTED. 🧐🤥
No playing around with Vax Card.
You can pass the border infected, no card, no ID; BUT Vacc Card is SACRED.
    BS

  46. SB Says:

LOL now Rittenhouse is a “White Supremacist” for shooting three white men.

    When does this IDIOCY END!?!?!?!?!

  47. SB Says:

    SMDH!!!!!!!

  48. fern Says:

If Aaron Rodgers is playing nothing can happen to AB simple as that.

  49. unbelievable Says:

D-Rome bringing the fake news and misinformation, per usual. What a guy.

@Cobraboy- he was asked if he was vaccinated and he said “yeah, I’ve been immunized”.

He did not state he had “immunity”.

Different words, different meaning. Get your facts straight if you’re going to try to correct others.
