“I Tore A Couple Of Things In There. A Little Bone Chipped Off.”

Scotty Miller

Ya gotta love the vagueness of NFL injury reports, along with how coaches describe injured players.

Officially, speedster receiver Scotty Miller landed on injured reserve with a turf toe injury to his right foot. It came against the Rams on Sept. 26.

Also, officially, turf toe is defined as a sprain of the big joint in your big toe. So Miller didn’t just have a turf toe issue, he said yesterday.

“I tore a couple of things in there. A little bone chipped off, so a couple of different things in my foot,” Miller said. “I didn’t think it was going to be as serious as it was, but it turned out to be pretty bad. But just grateful to be back.”

Surgery was discussed, Miller added, but it didn’t happen and he’s working now to prove to coaches that he’s the same player. Whether Miller can get back to the active roster for Sunday is unclear.

As Joe feels about the injuries to Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown, there’s no need to rush Miller. The Bucs can win without him (certainly against punchless Washington) and Miller’s greatest value is if he can regain his lethal speed.

This isn’t the week to rush him back. Actually no week is. This team is just fine. It’s less about the remaining talent of the receivers and more about how amazing our O Line has been. Brady will find the open man if given time.

This team has performed quite well under the circumstances they have faced with injuries ! Letting NO slip away was a tough pill but the second half of season should see a strong team performance getting players back . Rest them and recuperate them till 100 % .

Miller’s greatest/ONLY value is if he can regain his lethal speed

  6. August 1976 Buc Says:

Scotty Miller made a great play for a TD that stunned all of GB, and it was in the clutch just before the half in the NFC championship game. That play will be shown multiple times a year for the rest of our lives on TV. Scotty is not just fast, but proved to be clutch in the biggest game of his life at that point. So say what you want, he proved he can be counted on, on the biggest stage.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  7. Marine Buc Says:

This is a bummer. Scotty Miller’s best attribute is is speed… I highly doubt he is still going to have the same ability after this injury. I hope I’m wrong but this doesn’t sound good to me.

  8. Bobby M. Says:

Gronk, Brown, Miller and now Godwin? Teams will double up on Mike Evans and force Howard or Johnson to beat them. Howard has shown nothing special in the years he’s been here.

  9. PrimeTimeChuck Says:

We have got to stop with this “it’ll be okay” mentality. Conditioning and injury has been an issue all year. If we don’t get it corrected and do it efficiently we are going to be in trouble before you know it.

  10. Eddie Marz Says:

Just hope all these injuries don’t cost us the division. At full strength we can beat anyone. GO BUCS!

  11. SB~LV Says:

He is going to need surgery in the off season and will be in pain the until then…

  12. Francisco Guzman Says:

@Bobby M they’re underestimating these teams and with a leaky defense anything can happen. Giants game won’t be easy as well. They have been playing better. Can this team with Evans and who else score 28 or more n sunday? Idk. I expect a close game. A tight game. 🤦‍♂️

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

Maybe we finally see a highlight reel from Gio and BA & BL need to stop missing Lenny’s arse. He can’t catch.

  14. TheBradyBunch Says:

Lstn sorry you missed the last few games. Lenny Has been a very reliable receiver for several games now,

  15. Infomeplease Says:

Thank the heavens the BUCS are so deep at receiver. It’s also good to have Perriman back. He’s fast and played well the last season he was here. All the teams are beat up!! Next man up… LFG!!!

  16. Debora Moroney Says:

It Amazes me when they say one thing but there injury’s are way more serious
Nobody said anything about Brady playing with a bad knee that needed surgery and we still won the SB. Gotta get AB, Gronk really healthy before they come back. They always underplay the injuries. Chess game
