Your Sunday Rooting Guide

October 17th, 2021

Daniel Jones

Bucs players are home today playing with their kids, or perhaps glued to NFL Red Zone for 12-plus hours like Cameron Brate will be.

As Brate told SiriusXM NFL Radio, there is no greater joy.

Joe will be sharing Brate’s ecstasy and Joe is all fired up for the Vikings to take out the Panthers in Carolina (3-2) at 1 p.m., which Joe does not think will happen.

Atlanta and New Orleans are on their bye week, so Joe’s rooting against Carolina will be highly focused.

Of course, Joe wants to see the Chiefs (2-3) deliver a gut punch to Washington (2-3). It’s an interesting matchup considering Ron Rivera coached for Andy Reid and Rivera has been insisting he won’t make changes to his miserable defense — the one that was supposed to take over the NFL this season.

Joe thinks Washington, at home, will get healthy in a hurry today. There’s too much talent and good coaching in Washington for this to continue. And the Chiefs are playing ugly.

Mark it down. The Giants (1-4) are good enough to beat the Rams (4-1) at the Meadowlands, but they’ll have to play a little over their heads. Joe get the Giants +8 but isn’t hopeful the Bucs will jump ahead of Los Angeles today.

Every Bucs fans will join Joe in rooting against the Packers (4-1) as they head to Chicago (3-2). But Joe can’t imagine the Bears winning.

Go Browns at home against the undefeated Cardinals, and hey Bill Belicheat, it’s a great time to show that top-10 defense of yours is the real deal against dangerous Dallas (4-1) in New England. The Bucs and Tommy need you today!

Enjoy the games, Bucs fans. Joe hopes you have a day of good health, good food and Big Storm Beer.

I always like to see chiefs lose. Mahommes is such a good qb, but he also seems more than aware of that fact

  2. Hodad Says:

Upset Sunday would be nice Joe.

  3. Bird Says:

Didnt jaire alexander go on IR and now other db King is out. I believe.
Jaire is a stud and allows safeties to slide to other players cause he can take his receiver out all by himself

Would love to see karen rodgers to lose to bears.

And Tampa Bay is still 5-1, boys! Enjoy your Sunday, folks!

I was hoping this would go into who we need to lose in order to widen our chances at the playoffs.

Love that the Bucs have the day off and we can happily watch other teams beat each other up.

Fields just got clobbered by a packers DB on a run. It was called for a foul, but he slid late imho. What a hit. Glad Brady is a surgeon from the pocket.

  8. Delson Says:

Why root for the chiefs over washington? Eff the chiefs.

  9. Bojim Says:

Seems the Chiefs are coming down. Patrick has looked better.

I feel sorry for Sam Darnold.

  12. Hodad Says:

Danny Dimes ain’t worth a plug nickle. Bust!

  13. Swampbuc Says:

Well, the Panthies lost,so two game lead over their mangy hides. Darnold suddenly turned into Joe Montana late in the 4th. Pats are up on the Plowboys, a good thing. But the Rams smoked the Chargers and Baker Mayfield is proving to be the next Mark Sanchez. The Browns are so overrated.
