Shaq Barrett Among NFL’s Elite Pass Rushers

October 25th, 2021

Leader in key category.

How good is Bucs outside linebacker/pass-rusher Shaq Barrett? Since he joined the Bucs he is as good as there is in the NFL.

Since 2019, only Pittsburgh linebacker T.J. Watt (36.5) has more sacks than Shaq (33). And when it comes to strip-sacks, no one since 2019 is better. No one.

Shaq’s 10 strip-sacks since 2019 bests Chandler Jones and Watt. Each has nine.

Shaq’s strip-sack against the Bears yesterday gives him 5.5 sacks this season. So he is easily on pace for another double-digit sack season with the Bucs just finishing their seventh game of the year and 10 more to play.

A pass rush: it’s such a beautiful thing.

I’d say he is in mid season form. And that’s bad for the Saints. Jameis is going to feel what would have happened in practice if he wasn’t wearing the funny colored practice jersey.

Joe the biggest question I had about yesterdays game is how much that fan got for giving back the 600th touchdown ball. I read an article that it would be worth a minimum of $500,000 – $700,000.
Feel bad for the fan. –Joe

Worth every penny. How many years were we desperate for a pass rush?

  5. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

What a lovely vision a Shaq strip[sack on Jameis would be… topped off by a Devin White TD return with choruses throughout the Tampa Bay area chanting “Jayyyyyy-misssssss … Jayyyyy-misssssss!”

The fact is that his numbers would me much more impressive if it wasn’t for some refs BS calls. Shaq is playing absolutely amazing and has been really an impactful player. Certainly playing up to his contract

All of Joe’s smack talk early in the season must have motivated him.
    Good job Joe.

Dooosh…………How did you get the avitar??? Inquiring minds want to know

Shaqs numbers look elite from his huge 2019. I think he is getting back to form, but I’d like to see the consistency in production on a per game or per down basis. Not a knock on Shaw, I think he is worth what we paid, but I hate these stats over a period of years that discount players with injury

so much want to see Jameis Winston strip sacked and intercepted multi times–somehow Todd Bowles needs to make that happen

firethecannons: I’m right there with you. I’ll add one more …

An INT on the opening drive.

  12. BillyBucOff Says:

A pick 6 on the 1st play would be the only thing that would be close to even after the HELL he caused this team!!

    SB,

I think it was on NFL.com
The NO for New Orleans was most fortunate!

The fan who gave up the ball only wants to play a round of golf with Tom Brady.
