Message to fans.
UPDATED 12:06 p.m. – Though cryptic and unclear, the message is at least promising.
When Carlton Davis left Sunday’s game with a quad injury, he was in serious pain. And just knowing how baseball players when they strain a quad are out for weeks, Joe was beginning to wonder how long Davis would be out of commission.
Well this morning, Davis twittered some encouraging feelings without offering any specifics.
Thank you all for the prayers ! I appreciate the love ! I’ll be back sooner than you think ready to complete for #2❗️

The sooner the better. However, Bucco Bruce Arians said today he doesn’t expect Davis — or fellow cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting — “back anytime soon.”
Of course, Joe doesn’t want Davis to rush back before he’s fully ready. That’s counterproductive.
At least, from Davis’ Twitter, it doesn’t sound like a major injury.

Gilmore suffered a quad injury last year and is just coming off IR now.

Sounds like Davis didn’t have the same injury.

@Medicated Pete, Davis is our best corner, I think we got room for him and Gilmore as starters.

I tore my quad after pulling it and trying to run before it was fully healed. It has never been fully healed since.
Best advice, don’t run unless you have to.

My guess is we get both CBs back after the bye.
They’ll miss MIA, PHI, CHI, NOLA.
The Bucs can outscore all those teams. Obviously NOLA is the problem.

NOLA is no bigger problem than any other team. Payton has Jameis on a short leash… runs and short passes. I expect him to look like Mac Jones did against us, if his accuracy is on. NO has a better run game and D…but we should be healthier by then.

I injured my quad in college and it took me 4 weeks to get back on the field and it wasn’t until the 6th week or so before I really wasn’t bothered by it anymore…. I still have a lump on my right thigh where the muscle healed…. A VERY painful injury!!
